Pazzini continues to set the Stadio Luigi Ferraris alight with another clinical strike...
Giampaolo Pazzini has continued his period of rebirth since joining Sampdoria and was a central figure as the Blucerchiati claimed a 2-1 victory over AC Milan. The former Fiorentina striker scored a breathtaking winning goal, ten minutes into the second half, his fifth since arriving this winter.
"[The victory] was important for all of us. It was a beautiful day, we played a great match against a great team, our satisfaction is doubled," Pazzini told Sky Sports, clearly pleased with his contribution to the match.
"I'm so happy. I'm gaining all the satisfaction that I was denied during my period in Florence," added the 24-year-old hitman.
Milan, however, continue to suffer, losing again after being knocked out of the UEFA Cup on Thursday by Werder Bremen. Some sections of the press in the peninsula believe that coach Carlo Ancelotti could now be on his way out of the club after a long tenure in charge of the squad.
"I believe that all these criticisms are not right. It is a mediocre period for Milan, but the relationship between Milan and Ancelotti cannot be discussed," said a sympathetic sounding Pazzini.
Sampdoria now have some breathing space above the relegation zone and, with Pazzini and Antonio Cassano forming one of Serie A's most dynamic partnerships, they must now believe that the only way is up .
