Juventus sporting director Alessio Secco has played down Pavel Nedved's decision to retire at the end of the season. Secco believes the Czech midfielder will reconsider his latest plans when push comes to shove.

Nedved confirmed he would be retiring at the end of term for family reasons. The Bianconeri have not moved to renew his current deal, which expires in June. Nevertheless, Secco doesn't want to believe the midfielder’s latest revelations.

"I don't believe it, I really don't," Secco told Tuttosport.

"Pavel has already said many times that he would quit but I will speak to him after the second leg against Chelsea [in the Champions League].

"Ask any of his friends if they take him seriously."

It seems as if Juve will take swift action in order to stop their man from proceeding with his retirement. The club still want to find Nedved's eventual replacement, but they do not want to lose the loyal servant.

Tuttosport claims a new deal will be offered by the club in an attempt to continue their marriage with the former Lazio man. Another season could be on the cards. However, Juventus will have a tough task in trying to reverse the player's decision.
