Luciano Spalletti Hails Taddei’s Roma Winner
A brilliant move by Taddei allowed the Giallorossi to take home the three points against Siena on Saturday evening in matchday 25.
Roma coach Luciano Spalletti was left extremely satisfied with his team’s performance following the 1-0 win against Siena on Saturday evening.
He heaped special praise on Rodrigo Taddei for a wonderful goal he scored which allowed the Giallorossi to take an important step forward in the Serie A standings.
“In the first half we failed to create many chances, but we must consider also that Siena are a good team and therefore it could happen that we risked something in some situations,” explained the former Udinese coach as quoted by Sportmediaset.it.
“Apart from this, my team were well-positioned on the pitch and had character. Then, Taddei opened the score with a great move. He is a quality player.”
Francesco Totti did not enjoy one of his better games, but Spalletti believes he will be useful in the upcoming Champions League clash against Arsenal.
“He did not have a great performance, but he did his best,” he continued. “He helped the team and fought.”
Roma have now temporarily moved into fourth place before Sunday's round of matches as they have 43 points from 25 games played.
