Roma midfielder Alberto Aquilani and Lazio striker Tommaso Rocchi have won the inaugural 'Gentleman of Football' awards, according to Calciomercato.

The awards honour those associated with sport in the Rome area who are deemed to be fine examples of fair play.

Special prizes also went to Giallorossi midfielder Daniele De Rossi and Biancocelesti left-back Lorenzo De Silvestri for being ambassadors of the game by showing the 'value of sport'. Meanwhile, lifetime achievement awards went to ex-Lazio striker Giuseppe Signori and Roma legend Bruno Conti.

Goals of the season went to Julio Baptista and Goran Pandev, who won their gongs for sublime strikes against Torino and Sampdoria respectively earlier in the campaign.

Former Roma president Franco Sensi, who passed away this summer, was also honoured. Sensi was one of the greatest advocates of fair play in Italian football.
