In Italy, there is constant debate over Francesco's Totti potential return to the Italian national side.
The player's last appearance for the Azzurri was the World Cup 2006 final and the following season he announced his retirement from international football.
However, the player has admitted it would be difficult to deny a call-up from Italy coach Marcello Lippi and ever sicne the peninsula has been divided on whether the Roma talisman should return to the international scene.
FIGC director and former Milan star Demetrio Albertini is in favour of the move, according to the Corriere Dello Sport.
"I don't know if he will return to the national team," he admitted. "Totti is always a consideration because he is an outstanding player, but a lot will depend on his physical condition if he wants to reach the World Cup.
"I hope to see him at the highest levels."
The ex-Barcelona midfielder then turned his attention to his role in the Italian Football Federation, of which he was rumoured to be running for president.
"The federal presidency is just a misunderstanding, I only said I was avaiable," he explained. "On March 23, I just hope you will support whoever the president turns out to be. Certainly, I do not think I will apply."
