Milan Linked With 'Ukrainian Gattuso'
Reports in Italy suggest that the Rossoneri may be considering a move for Ukrainian midfielder Taras Mikhailik from Dynamo Kiev.
After reports concerning the possible
acquisition of Liverpool's Danish defender Daniel Agger, Milan sports
director, Ariedo Braida has apparently met with a former scout of the
Rossoneri, Rezo Choconolidze.
Choconolidze is currently general manager of Dinamo Kiev, the club which produced Milan's Andriy Shevchenko.
The general manager has dropped the name of Taras Mikhailik as a quality midfielder that the club may be interested in. The Ukrainian player is a midfield hard man in the mould of Gennaro Gattuso. At 25-years-old he would certainly bring some youth to an ageing Milan squad.
The transfer of another midfielder to the club may be unsettling however, with Mathieu Flamini, Gattuso and Massimo Ambrosini all fighting for a similar defensive role at the moment.
If Mikhailik's transfer does go through, it will only happen at the end of the season, due to passport issues that would need to be resolved. The relationship between Dynamo Kiev and Milan is a good one, due to previous business dealings involving Khaka Kaladze and Shevchenko.
