Inter midfielder Amantino Mancini is delighted with his match winning performance in the Beckenbauer Cup on Tuesday night. The Brazilian was full of praise for his side as they lift their first silverware of the season.
A stunning strike which saw the ball hit the cross-bar and post before finally crossing the line has left the Brazilian satisfied.
“I couldn’t have gone better than this but I want to congratulate the whole team as we have made a few important steps towards the Supercoppa,” Mancini told the club’s official website after the game.
“Mourinho always asks me to play deeper and I think I have satisfied him with my goal.
“We won against a side who is in better condition than us but out group strength showed.
“I am happy with my performance, I am always trying to do what the coach wants.”
Inter were, perhaps, the better team on the night even though Bayern put up a brave fight. No doubt Mancini will be hoping the Beckenbauer trophy is the first of many his side lift this season.
