Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati has performed well during this pre-season and many believe he will be the number one in Carlo Ancelotti's squad next season, ahead of Kalac and Dida...Abbiati's performances during the Trofeo Tim, and yesterday in Moscow against Sevilla, have certainly given Ancelotti a clearer idea on who to play between the goal posts when Serie A kicks off later this month.
These positive outings have also increased the confidence of Abbiati who wants to show that he is worthy of the Rossoneri's number one shirt following many seasons on the bench or on loan.
"I must take advantage of all the chances," declared the former Juventus goalkeeper.
"I know that it will not be easy to win the first team spot, but I will do my best.
"Differently than last year, now I have more motivations and during training I'm working well."
The 31-year-old goalkeeper spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid where he collected 21 appearances for the team, helping them to a 4th place in La Liga.
