Porto Deny Inter Offer For Quaresma
Porto President Jorge Pinto Da Costa insists that he still hasn’t received a concrete offer from Inter for star man Ricardo Quaresma.
The winger had been lined up as Luis Figo's long term
replacement for quite a while now, and Portuguese daily ‘A Bola’ claimed
yesterday that Inter were close to reaching a deal for the Porto man, and that
he may sign for them as early as Friday.
However, Porto President Jorge Pinto Da Costa is adamant that, despite all the commotion, he has not even received a bid for the player yet.
“At the moment we have had no official offers for Quaresma,” Da Costa told the Correio De Manha “Has Ricardo asked to leave? No, I’ve had no complaints from him.”
Inter have been looking for some more technically gifted players, as new coach Jose Mourinho aims to win the club their first Champions League since 1965.
Quaresma began his career at Sporting Lisbon before enduring a miserable season at Barcelona in 2003/04. He then moved to Porto where his career really took off again.
He has won 23 caps for the Portugal national team, scoring three goals, although he was somewhat disappointing during Euro 2008.
