Ancelotti's Job Is Safe - Galliani
Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has been given the vote of confidence by vice-president Adriano Galliani, who insists that the coach’s future at the club is secure.
There have been reports in the Italian press that Ancelotti would be on his way out if his side failed to qualify for the Champions League.
And, although they still have an outside chance, Galliani is adamant the Ancelotti will remain in charge regardless of whether or not Milan end up in Europe’s elite club competition.
“Whether we enter the Champions League or the UEFA Cup, Ancelotti will be our coach next season,” said Galliani.
Milan host Udinese this weekend at San Siro as the Serie A season comes to an end.
The Rossoneri need to ensure they beat the Friulani and hope that Fiorentina slip up against Torino in order for them to finish in the remaining Champions League place and, apart from paying their wages, Galliani is doing all he can to motivate his players ahead of the grand finale.
“What I continually tell the lads is that we must go out there and beat Udinese, because it would be such a shame if Fiorentina lost and we did not take the opportunity," he added.
“It would be very disappointing not to qualify for the Champions League, but for the past six years we have achieved great results in that competition.”
