Fiorentina have decided to part company with Giampaolo Pazzini next month, as the 24-year-old has become unsettled in Tuscany following the arrival of Alberto Gilardino this summer.

A host of Italian sides have been associated with the former Italy Under-21 star in recent weeks, namely Palermo and Sampdoria, but Bologna are also monitoring the situation, as Marco Di Vaio is allegedly being chased by Inter Milan.

But now Roma seem on the verge of joining the party and, according to Sky Sport, the Lupi directors will convene on January 2 to plan their moves on the transfer market.

The Eternal City outfit are expected to bring in a striker following the injury occurred to captain Francesco Totti, who is expected to remain sidelined for around two months, and the former Atalanta youth product seems to fit the bill.

However, they could face stiff competition from Premier League side Everton too, as La Gazzetta dello Sport reports this morning that coach David Moyes has set his sights on the hitman, who made a name for himself in England by bagging a hat-trick at the new Wembley Stadium.
