The stand-in keeper had a very poor game. Looked unsure on crosses and was in no-man's land for both of Rolfes' goals.
Not a bad performance by the midfielder but like several of his team-mates, seemed to go missing in the second-half. Needs to improve defensively.
The Italian centre-half had a miserable evening as he failed to deal with Leverkusen's aerial threat. Poor performance from an experienced player.
The left-back didn't have the best of games and was troubled on numerous occasions by the tricky Sam. Will need to improve if he is to force his way into Joachim Loew's Germany squad.
The Danish defender had a solid first-half but went to shot in the last 20 minutes, as did the rest of the Wolfsburg defence.
The Danish midfielder has forced his way into McClaren's starting XI and put in a decent performance. Provides another body in attack and his passing was decent throughout.
Wolfsburg will be glad to have their former captain back in the team. Brought a calmness to the midfielder and played several decent passes. Particularly linked up well with fellow countryman Diego in the first-half.
Disappointing game for the Japanese international. Was lucky Barnetta had a quiet game and gave away the penalty which saw Leverkusen equalise.
Pulled all the strings for Wolfsburg in the opening half hour but quicky faded into obscurity. Took his goal well but needs to be a constant threat for Wolfsburg to challenge.
The striker was busy throughout and had several good chances which he failed to convert. Did well to assist Grafite for his goal.
The Brazilian striker worked tirelessly throughout the game. Not everything came off for the powerful striker but he deserved his goal through his hard work.
Arguably at fault for Wolfsburg's first but did make several quality saves. Couldn't do much about Die Wolfe's second.
Strange game for the experienced Finnish player. At times he was beaten all too easily but never give up and made some good tackles.
The defender has been out of form in recent weeks and despite his team conceding two tonight, he made some excellent interceptions.
The Czech international looked good going forward and came close to scoring in the second-half. Not a great defensive performance but not a bad one either.
So-so performance from the right-back. Was given the run-a-round in the first half but improved steadily as the game went on.
The Swiss winger did not look like himself at all and was substituted early in the second half. Very disappointing from a player with such talent.
Quiet game for the young German but his pace and trickery did cause the Wolfsburg defence problems at times.
Failed to deal with Diego in the first half hour but stuck to his task and kept the talented Brazilian out of the game in the final hour. Solid.
Good performace from the midfielder especially in the second half. Great cross for the first Leverkusen goal and had the confidence to step up to take the penalty for the equaliser.
The Swiss striker came close to scoring a wonder goal after four minutes with an inventive heel flick. Worked hard up front throughout and was unlucky not to score.

Came on with five minutes to go and was unable to make a real impact. Maybe should have come on earlier as his pace would have given Leverkusen something to think about.
Played fairly well when he came of the bench and nearly provided the equaliser but was unlucky to see his header go over the bar.

Man of the match and was only on the pitch for 20 minutes! Rolfes really was captain fantastic as he brought his team back from the dead. Leverkusen will be glad to have him back.
The young midfielder came on for the final half hour and looked good. Kept his passing simple and helped his side to retain more of the ball.
The young Dane did fairly well when he came on and provided extra height on set-pieces which Leverkusen ultimately won the game with.
