• The Hawthorns, West Bromwich
Referee: M. Oliver
• Attendance: 24184
West Bromwich Albion
D. Lugano 75'
K. Mirallas 41'
90' + 6'
FULL-TIME! The referee blows his whistle and these two sides share the spoils. Everton controlled the first period and deservedly took the lead through Mirallas, but the second half was a far more even contest as West Brom grew into it and ultimately equalised through Lugano. Pepe Mel's first match at the Hawthorns ends without too much disappointment, while Everton remain in touch with the European places. Thank you for joining me for the action. I hope you've enjoyed the match. Farewell.
90' + 5'
Everton have the ball in the back of the net!!! However, Distin, who flicked Barry's shot past Foster, was miles offside. The goal is correctly disallowed.
90' + 4'
There will four minutes of added time.
90' + 2'
Yellow Card Kevin Mirallas
90' + 2'
Mirallas fouls Yacob deep inside the West Brom half and the Belgian reacts angrily to the decision. Unsurprisingly he earns himself a yellow card.
90' + 1'
Brunt leaves it for Reid who gets a shot on target, but it is easy for Howard, who gets down to his left and gathers.
Mirallas nudges Morrison in the air and concedes a free-kick, about 35 yards from goal.
Osman, who appears to have hurt his back, is replaced by Naismith for Everton's final change.
Brunt puts in another inviting cross from the left, but Anichebe can't quite reach it. The former Everton man has made a big difference for West Brom, however.
Lovely touch by Stones to cut inside and beat Brunt. He puts a low ball in towards the six-yard box and Mirallas is knocked over by Lugano when trying to bring it under control, but the referee is not interested in the Belgian's penalty - or corner - claims.
This is end-to-end now. Lukaku almost creates a good chance for the visitors as his low, driven cross from the right gets into the centre of the area, but Olsson boots it away.
And here is another Everton change. McGeady takes the place of Oviedo on the flank.
Meanwhile, Stones replaces Coleman, who has taken a knock.
West Brom are really pressing for a winner now. Anichebe shows great awareness to play Brunt in down the left and the captain's delivery flashes straight across the goal's face, but no one can reach it.
Berahino wastes no time before getting involved and he gets a shot away from inside the area, but a Baines deflection takes much of the sting out of it before Howard collects.
West Brom make their final change of the match as Berahino replaces Anelka, who - despite finding himself the subject of unwanted press recently - has probably been the hosts' best player.
Assist James Morrison
Goal Diego Lugano
GOAL!!! West Brom equalise at the Hawthorns! The Initial corner is cleared by Everton, but back come the hosts. Morrison does well down the right and somehow manages to pick out a cross between two defenders. Lugano charges to the near post and fires a powerful header past Howard.
Reid gets a low cross into the centre from the right. Anichebe controls at the near post, but his shot ricochets off one Everton defender and on to another before going behind for a corner.
Mirallas goes for goal himself from the free-kick, but his curling effort goes just wide, with Foster not looking particularly worried.
The positive Mirallas runs at West Brom down the left. He skips past Reid and then lures Lugano into fouling him.
Coleman tries to squeez between Ridgewell and Brunt to get into the West Brom area, but the duo hold him off well and the latter comes away with the ball.
Baines luckily escapes a yellow card as he clumsily loses the ball to Anelka, before tripping the Frenchman up.
Brunt makes good progress down the left and finds space to cross, but ultimately there is no one in the area to meet it. Groans of frustration are emitted by the crowd.
This match has become very disjointed. Neither side seem capable of stamping much authority on the match, while both teams have been wasteful in possession in the last 10 minutes.
Good effort by Mirallas as he meets Coleman's cross with an audacious scissor-kick, but he misses the mark.
West Brom make their second change of the match as Mulumbu replaces Gera.
There are tentative handball claims from the West Brom fans as Brunt's cross strikes Oviedo, but the referee ignores the protests.
Yellow Card Liam Ridgewell
Great chance for West Brom! Anelka receives a through-ball down the right and after taking his time he plays an inch-perfect cross into the danger zone. Anichebe nips in front of Jagielka and directs the ball goalwards, but Howard just about keeps it out.
West Brom's good start to the second half continues and Gera nearly gets a good chance. Morrison stands a cross up towards the back post, inviting Baines and Gera to tussle for it. The West Brom man appears to just about get a head to it, but it goes well wide.
Yellow Card Gareth Barry
Cynical foul by Barry as he blatantly trips Anelka, but the Everton man manages to halt a dangerous-looking counterattack in the process. Yellow card for the ex-England man.
Well-worked move by the hosts. Anichebe plays the ball out to the right and Reid cuts it back towards the edge of the area for Morrison. The midfielder shoots first-time, but his effort rolls along the floor and into the arms of Howard.
Good cross by Ridgewell from the left, but no team-mates are there to meet it in the area and the unchallenged Distin clears.
There was one change at half-time, with for Everton man Anichebe replacing Vydra.
West Brom get the second half started.
HALF-TIME! Pepe Mel's first half at the Hawthorns ends in disappointment as Everton take a 1-0 lead into the break. The visitors generally had the better of the play and it was no surprise when Mirallas broke the deadlock after excellent link-up play with Lukaku. West Brom will have to do better in attack if they are to salvage something from this.
45' + 1'
Nothing comes of the corner, but West Brom could potentially have won a penalty as Lugano was knocked over by Distin.
45' + 1'
West Brom create a good opening as Gera gets into the area, but instead of shooting he tries to play the ball to a team-mate in the danger zone, but Everton hack it away for a corner.
Yellow Card James Morrison
James Morrison is the latest player to go into the referee's book for a late tackle.
Goal Kevin Mirallas
GOAL!!! Everton take the lead at the Hawthorns! Distin's long ball from the back is expertly flicked on by Lukaku and Mirallas gets on the end of it, bursts into the area and confidently slots past Foster.
Exquisite pass in behind Coleman by Yacob. Vydra anticipates it well and checks back before cross, but Everton make a lucky escape.
West Brom have improved in the last ten minutes. The possession stats for that period have the hosts with 64 per cent of the ball.
Yellow Card Claudio Yacob
Yacob becomes the first player to earn a yellow card in the match. Barry takes his time in possession and offloads the ball with the Argentine closing in. He is caught late and the offender's name goes into the referee's book.
Free-kick for the hosts just outside their own area after Oviedo gave Ridgewell a bit of a kick.
Good save by Howard! Anelka spots Yacob's clever run with a well-timed through-ball and the Argentine gets a shot away, but the American goalkeeper parries it away.
Good chance for Everton! Mirallas' delivery from the left is not controlled by Lukaku, meaning Oviedo has to do his best to feed Coleman in to his right, but the right-backs effort is blocked.
The home fans are growing particularly frustrated now. Everton are generally controlling this and looking fairly untroubled, with Tim Howard relaxing on a sun lounger and drinking cocktails in his penalty area.
Everton's reluctance to boot the ball into the box from the free-kick is obvious once again as they play it short and look to work the ball patiently.
Oviedo wins Everton another free-kick in a similar position to the last. This time he nips in front of Ridgewell to collect the ball and the defender stands on his foot.
Everton fail to make the most of the free-kick, however, as they lose the ball soon after playing a short set-piece.
Yacob tackles Oviedo well just inside his own half, but he then grabs a load of the Everton man's shirt and is penalised, much to the annoyance of his team-mates and fans.
Everton are really exerting some pressure over their hosts now. Mirallas is the latest to go close as he receives a clever reverse pass from Osman, cuts into the area and shoot right-footed, but Foster gets his body behind the effort.
Everton put together another good move. Mirallas gets in down the left of West Brom's area and crosses to the edge of the area for McCarthy to volley, but Foster is equal to the shot.
This is proving to be a very open encounter thus far as Anelka cuts in from the left and sends a powerful drive towards the goal, but Howard remains unchallenged as it goes wide.
Excellent play again by Oviedo! Lukaku picks the Costa Rican out with a squared cross. The winger jinks past Lugano and on to his left foot, but his eventual shot misses the target.
Baines' delivery is cleared, but only as far as Oviedo, who fires a volley narrowly wide of Forster's right-hand post.
Reid unfairly hauls Baines down just to the right of West Brom's area and the visitors have an excellent chance here.
Anelka plays an excellent pass through for Vydra. The Czech forward crosses with the outside of his right foot and Morrison looks set to tap it in at the back post, but Howard crucially gets it away.
Everton are enjoying plenty of possession early on, but West Brom do look dangerous when they get the ball forward in the channels.
Everton create their first decent opening. Distin lofts a ball forward from the back and Lukaku gets on the end of it. The Belgian takes an early shot, lobbing the ball over Foster, but his effort goes wide. That was a good opportunity by all accounts.
Clever ball over Coleman by Yacob. Anelka collects it and beats the Everton right-back, but his low cross is poor and the visitors clear with ease.
Bright start by the hosts. Vydra latches on to a through-ball in the inside-left channel, but his cross goes too close to Howard.
West Brom get the match started.
The Spanish coach has been introduced to the home fans for the first time and now the two teams are ready to go.
The players are now out on the field for what will be Pepe Mel's first Premier League home match in charge of West Brom.
Everton's defenders have scored 10 goals so far this term, as many as West Brom's forwards.
Everton, however, are unbeaten in their previous six away games in the league, winning three and drawing the others.
If West Brom are victorious it will be the first time since March 2013 that they have won back-to-back Premier League matches.
Everton have lost only one of their last six matches against West Brom in all competitions.
