Had an otherwise strong performance marred by a senseless foul committed out of frustration. Made brilliant saves from Ottl and Gomez, and had no fault in any of the Bayern goals, but also made a mistake as he failed to punch clear in the 36th minute, leaving the goal at Gomez's mercy. Will be missed after being sent off.
Strong in the right back role - looked an improvement upon Fritz, who has left much to be desired at the back. Won his challenges, and had no fault in any of the goals.
The weakest link, as usual. Came close with a header early, but then committed some clumsy fouls, and was badly burned for pace by Gomez. Allowed Robben in ahead of him for the equaliser, and also struggled in possession as he completed just nine of 20 passes.
Assisted Mertesacker's goal with a header and made some good stops from Robben. However, he earned a booking for a poor challenge and the own goal was largely his fault, not Mertesacker's.
Heroically stopped chances for Gomez (27') and Robben (62'), and netted the opener with all the precision of a top-class striker. Then, he conceded the own goal that cost Bremen a valuable point - it was very unlucky for the man, who would have earned a rating of 8.0 had it not been for the one costly error he made.
Might have been man of the match before his lazy, half-hearted clearance attempt at the death. Won eight of his 11 challenges and played Schweinsteiger off the park...but then allowed Mueller to take the ball away and set up Klose's 3-1.
Made some good runs - his agility caused trouble for Bayern. However, he rarely received the ball, and was well marked.
A rare bright spot in the Bremen attack - the playmaker lived up to his potential today, even if his service was limited. Hunt found Fritz in the opening seconds, and held up the ball well in attack.
Offered stability in defensive midfield, and put in a tremendous amount of work. His intensity forced errors from the Bayern midfield, although the youngster was found to be lacking a bit of technique.
Combative and very energetic in midfield - it might be a more appropriate position than his usual right back, where he has struggled as of late. Won his challenges and frustrated Pranjic. Had a chance to open the scoring early, but struck with the finish of a defender, and had his effort saved.
Took and created a combined 0 shots. Was given minimal service and he did indeed work hard, but a striker has to do more.
Made a vital save from Fritz in the opening moments, and had a couple important clearances. An all-round impressive performance, even though he was not tested very often.
Conceded a rare free kick early, but the new captain really took responsibility for his team in the second half. Lahm judged his positioning flawlessly; he was back in defence when he needed to be, but also provided excellent support for Robben in attack. Even took over Schweinsteiger's role on occasion as he played some creative passes in the middle.
Defended well without having to slide in to commit himself: the mark of a top defender. Did well to deny the crafty and agile Marin on a number of occasions.
A very poor game for the midfielder who was well below his world class best. Committed far too many fouls, and might have been sent off by another referee - he was simply too slow to the ball, and Frings was decidedly the better player on the day. Schweinsteiger's one good contribution was a well-played ball to Gomez in the 27th minute.
Came close with a good shot from distance early on, but was too passive in midfield and gave the ball away too easily. Is capable of much, much more.
Allowed Fritz to sneak in behind him in the first minute, but improved. A bit passive at times, but always neat and tidy with the ball, and he sent in a good cross to assist the 1-1.
Shaky in the first quarter hour, but the Ukrainian improved afterwards and formed a good partnership with Badstuber. Moved into a holding midfield role later on and looked sturdy.
Always looks like the most dangerous man on the pitch, and for good reason. After a poor start to the game, the Dutch winger increasingly gathered momentum, and like Mueller, forced the Bremen defence to make good stops. Eventually got the better of Silvestre as he knocked in the 1-1.
Should have been whistled for a hand ball at 1-1, but was lucky enough to get away with it. Won eight of his 13 challenges and proved a useful auxiliary attacker on the left flank.
His lasting contribution will be the good work to create and assist the 3-1, but Mueller was a regular threat. His direct nature in attack forced the Werder defence to make good stops, but also resulted in harried clearances. Mueller's work kept the ball in Bayern's attacking half.
His first poor game in quite some time. Gomez was denied by a great Wiese save, but should have done better with his free header and another chance he had in the 79th minute. His hard work did force Mertesacker's own goal, but of course there was a certain amount of luck involved.
Replaced Wiese in goal for the closing seconds after the #1 was sent off.
- 37 L. Balogun
- 6 T. Borowski
The youngster made his Bundesliga debut as he replaced Marin for the final 23 minutes, and was quite active out wide. His cross should have won a penalty from Luiz Gustavo, but Bremen were unlucky not to receive the benefit of the referee's whistle.
- 18 F. Kroos
- 9 D. Avdić
Came in for the final 10 minutes, but didn't have the chance to make an impact in attack.
