One of his better performances for Valencia. Did well in the first half and could not do anything to stop either of Gonzalo Castro's goals.
The youngster was impeccable. He was strong in the tackle and excellent going forward. A promising showing.
Conceded a non-existent "penalty", but was rock-solid tonight and all in all did very well.
His first game for Valencia in La Liga proved to be a disaster. At fault for the second goal and did not inspire confidence throughout his short time on the pitch. Replaced a half-time.
Very active and brilliant with the ball at his feet, but his terrible miss at the start of the second half ruined his performance tonight.
The veteran did not have the best of games tonight and grew frustrated as the game approached the final whistle. Substituted in the second half.
Los Che's best player. The seasoned winger still has it in terms of pace and flair and he proved this. Earned the penalty for Valencia's only goal of the game and caused plenty of trouble for Mallorca on the left flank.
One could hardly tell if the Argentine starlet was on the pitch tonight. Replaced at half-time.
Caught napping in the build-up to Gonzalo Castro's second strike, but otherwise did well.
Was not his brilliant self, but still showed some good touches. Similarly to Albelda, he seemed frustrated with his team's inability to break Mallorca's wall of bodies.
Could have done better with the chances he was presented with, but nevertheless he did well. Scored a superb penalty and was very active in both halves.
Pulled off some good saves to deny Valencia's attackers. All in all, a decent performance.
Rock-solid and barely put a foot wrong all night. An impressive outing.
Similarly to his partner in defence he did superbly. The duo was rock-solid and dealt with Valencia's juggernaut with aplomb.
Played a part in Gonzalo Castro's second strike, but conceded a penalty and was replaced at half-time.
While he did not offer much in attack, he was excellent in defence and Valencia never looked likely to cause trouble down his flank.
Played well alongside Marti tonight, and fulfilled his duties completely.
Very quiet and was overshadowed by Castro on the other flank. Replaced in the second half.
J. de Guzmán
Probably Mallorca's best player on the night. Showed superb technique and was at the centre of many counter-attacks for the visitors.
Put away the penalty well and was a constant thorn in Valencia's defence. Good poaching instinct to score his second of the night.
- 13 Guaita
Replaced Stankevicius at half-time and impressed with some great tackles and blocks. Offered little in attack, though.
- 10 Mata
- 8 A. Domínguez
Showed good delivery from set-pieces, but was ultimately unable to help his team draw the game level.
Could not inspire his team to a complete comeback tonight as he seemed pretty isolated after coming on at the start of the second half.
