Could do little with Mata's first goal after his defender failed to stay on his feet but should have done better on Montoya's assist to Adrian, diving poorly to leave the net open. Came close to saving Mata's penalty.
Had a horrible game. Slipped on Ander's pass to Mata for the opening goal, which he should have cleared without any problems. Was just sloppy all together and a poor header almost let the Spaniards in again.

Creative while moving forward, sending in a dangerous cross that Yarmolenko should have finished. One of the few bright spots in the Ukraine side.
In the short time his team had the ball, he was fairly creative. Had a solid chance 10 minutes before half time but failed to place his shot. Also saw a tame penalty in the second half saved by De Gea.
- M. Bily
Sloppy and sent off late in the game. Was the reason for Spain's third goal, taking down Mata inside the box with a clumsy challenge.
Had a chance to cut the lead in front of goal from Butko's fine cross but showed little desire to hustle for the ball, allowing it to fly through the box.
Headed his best chance metres wide. After that attempt, did nothing else.
The Atletico Madrid star was not tested for the majority of the game. Failed to come out on Butko's cross, which could have led to a close range goal. Gave away the penalty but redeemed himself by saving Konopylanka's spotkick.
A simplistic performance by the defender. Was not called upon to do much but pass the ball into space. Made no mistakes in defence.
Solid display from the Barcelona youngster. Ran forward well, playing a perfect pass across the box to assist Adrian for the second goal.
No mistakes but nothing special either. Was sound at the back, playing balls wide and handling the attack of the opponent. Had little to deal with as Spain's midfield dominated.
Calm at the back and nearly opened the scoring minutes into the match with a great run and shot from a tight angle. Precise passing from the back to start the attack.
Not spectacular, but very solid. Moved towards the ball well, always available to receive passes from his team-mates and protected his defence while linking up with the attack.
The star of the match. Bagged a brace with a calm finish from close range and then from the spot after he had won the penalty himself. A great performance from the Valencia attacker.
Found Mata on the first goal with a clever pass into the box that was aided by an error from the opponent. Moved forward smoothly, sending passed wide to start the attack.
Called upon to score and did just that. Took his goal with ease, showing his desire to find the back of the net by making the full run to the back post.
Not his best performance after a fantastic game against the Czech Republic. Had plenty of touches, passed the ball well but wasn't involved enough in Spain's attack. Did see a long range shot parried away by the keeper late on.

Came on late in first half for Bilyy. Lost control of the ball time and time again. Not the impact sub the side needed.
Last substitution who had no time to make an impact.

The new Valencia player came on to shore up the midfield.
Nearly recorded an assist minutes in with a fantastic pass to Thiago, who sent the ball over the goal. Could have scored with a run into the box in a one-on-one but was sloppy with his finish.
