Live Commentary

  • Udinese will look for just their second away win of the season when they travel to face Catania next Saturday while fourth-placed Inter host Livorno. Thanks for joining me, Max Bentley, on this live commentary. Until next time, goodbye.
  • So after 22 games unbeaten at the Friuli, Udinese suffer back-to-back defeats. With Antonio Di Natale going off with a hamstring problem, the pressure is on Francesco Guidolin now as they drop to tenth.
  • FT: Udinese 0-3 Inter. The Nerazzurri extend their unbeaten away start to the season with a resounding victory at the Friuli thanks to goals from Rodrigo Palacio, Andrea Ranocchia and Ricky Alvarez. The Zebrette were second-best throughout the game and aside from one Antonio Di Natale strike, they struggled to test Samir Handanovic. Inter go ten points clear of AC Milan.
  • 90' + 4'
Udinese look for a consolation but Ranegie cannot generate enough power on his header from Widner's cross from the right. Seconds remaining here.
  • 90' + 3'
Inter look for a fourth and Guarin goes past Domizzi again before his cross is acrobatically met on the volley by Taider. However, the Algerian's effort is well blocked.
  • 90' + 1'
    Assist Rodrigo Palacio
  • 90' + 1'
    Goal Ricardo Álvarez
ALVAREZ MAKES IT 3-0! Palacio shows his speed to burst away from Allan down the right and he looks up to square the ball for Alvarez who taps in from close range. Three goals and three points for Mazzarri's men.
  • 90'
    Yellow Card Juan Jesus
Juan Jesus is shown Inter's third yellow card of the game for timewasting. Five minutes of stoppage time to play, I don't know where the officials have got that from!
  • 88'
Badu produces a brilliant turn to evade Pereira but he opts to go for goal from a narrow angle and slices his shot well wide when there were black and white shirts waiting for the cross.
  • 87'
Inter win a free kick of their own just outside the box but Cambiasso's training ground routine is easily intercepted by Allan. Aside from that, the Inter captain has been very impressive today.
  • 85'
GOOD CHANCE FOR UDINESE! Nicolas Lopez fires his free kick against the wall and when Naldo crosses the ball into the box, Ranegie is there unmarked but his soft header is comfortably saved by Handanovic.
  • 84'
Badu has looked one of Udinese's most liveliest attackers and he wins a free kick on the edge of the box after being fouled by Juan Jesus. Can the Zebrette make this count and set up an exciting finale?
  • 82'
Udinese are not giving up hope of a late comeback and Badu watches his fierce drive deflected behind for a corner. However, once again Inter defend well from the resulting set piece.
  • 81'
    Substitution Andrea Ranocchia Marco Andreolli
Ranocchia cannot continue and he is replaced by Marco Andreolli. No appearance for Zanetti today.
  • 79'
Ranocchia crashes to the turf after suffering some cramp and receives treatment. The home fans voice their frustration as they believe the Inter centre-half is timewasting.
  • 77'
Inter have all eleven shirts pegged back inside their own half as they look to see out the win. Three points would take them ten clear of fierce rivals AC Milan.
  • 76'
    Yellow Card Á. Pereira
Pereira joins Ranocchia in the book for a cynical foul on Badu.
  • 76'
Well, that sums up Udinese's game. Fernandes tees a free kick up for Danilo but the defender's effort slices out for a throw in.
  • 74'
    Yellow Card Andrea Ranocchia
Andrea Ranocchia picks up the first booking of the game after a late challenge on Gabriel Silva.
  • 72'
Here's a stat for you. All of Udinese's eleven league goals this season have been scored by the right boot.
  • 71'
Alvaro Pereira looks to make an instant impression down the left wing and he delivers a brilliant cross into the box which Palacio can only head over the bar.
  • 70'
    Substitution Muriel N. López
Final substitution for Udinese and it is a surprising one as Luis Muriel is replaced by young Uruguayan striker Nicolas Lopez.
  • 69'
Udinese are the team exerting the pressure but they cannot find a way past this stubborn Nerazzurri defence. Ranegie flicks a ball on for Muriel to chase but the Colombian is outmuscled by Ranocchia.
  • 68'
    Substitution Jonathan Á. Pereira
Another injury concern for Inter here as Jonathan goes down clutching the back of his right leg. Alvaro Pereira is set to come on in his place.
  • 66'
Bruno Fernandes shows his quality when he spins away from his marker on the edge of the box before testing Handanovic with a low drive.
  • 64'
Juan Jesus concedes a free kick just outside the box but Muriel can only curl his effort narrowly over the crossbar. Udinese scored eight goals against Inter in the league last season, are they going to score a blank today?
  • 61'
GUARIN HITS THE POST! The Colombian midfielder receives Jonathan's pass before surging beyond Domizzi and smashing a low shot against the woodwork. That would have wrapped up the win.
  • 59'
SO CLOSE FOR INTER! Guarin does well to bulldoze his way along the byline but his low cross into the middle somehow evades the outstretched leg of Palacio.
  • 57'
Substitution Antonio Di Natale Mathias Ranégie
  • 57'
    Substitution Roberto Pereyra Bruno Fernandes
  • 57'
Things go from bad to worse for Udinese as Antonio Di Natale goes off clutching his hamstring. Roberto Pereyra is also withdrawn with Mathias Ranegie and Bruno Fernandes coming on.
  • 56'
Domizzi goes close to reducing the deficit when he sends an overhead kick narrowly wide of the post after Muriel had got the better of Ranocchia from a corner. However, it would not have counted as the linesman's flag was raised for offside.
  • 54'
Udinese continue to come forward but Widner cannot get on the end of Di Natale's neat flick. Guidolin must be contemplating a substitution in a bid to get back into this match.
  • 53'
Alvarez is working hard for Inter and he tracks back excellently to prevent Muriel from getting his shot away from the edge of the box. As results stand, Inter are set to rise above Fiorentina into fourth.
  • 51'
Guarin launches a counterattack for Inter and with two shirts in the middle to aim for, he disappointingly fails to pick out a teammate. Moments later, Alvarez goes agonisingly close to getting on the end of Juan Jesus' brilliant long ball.
  • 49'
Udinese have started the second half brightly and Badu nearly gets in behind the Inter defence. Can they keep up the pressure and grab one goal back?
  • 47'
GREAT SAVE FROM HANDANOVIC! Di Natale finally shows his magic as he collects Pereyra's pass before weaving beyond Ranocchia and sending a shot towards the top corner which is tipped over by the Slovenian goalkeeper. Much better from the Zebrette.
  • 46'
Udinese get the ball rolling for the second half. Can they fight back to prevent back-to-back home victories?
  • HT: Udinese 0-2 Inter. Goals from Rodrigo Palacio and Andrea Ranocchia give the Nerazzurri a deserved lead at the break. Walter Mazzarri's side have dominated proceedings and restricted their opponents to very few chances. The Zebrette have twice been exploited from set-pieces and look on course for their second home defeat in just 24 home matches.
  • 45' + 1'
Domizzi finally produces a good ball as he floats a cross towards the back post which Juan Jesus heads behind crucially to deny Di Natale. However, Udinese cannot test Handovic from the resulting corner.
  • 44'
Domizzi's passing has been sloppy in this first half and he gifts the ball to Taider who tests Brkic with a fierce low drive. I expect Guidolin will have some stern words with his team at the break.
  • 43'
Udinese win two corners in quick succession but Inter stand firm to clear their lines on both occasions. A clean sheet here would be a very respectable achievement for the Nerazzurri.
  • 41'
Antonio Di Natale asks the referee for a penalty when he goes down in the box under a challenge from Ranocchia. It looked very soft however and the referee waves play on.
  • 39'
Muriel looks to cause problems with his pace down the left but he overruns the ball and allows Nagatomo to steal back possession. It's almost as if Udinese are playing with ten men when they attack, they are throwing so few bodies forward.
  • 37'
    Substitution Walter Samuel Rolando
The injury list builds for Inter as they are forced into an early change. Walter Samuel has picked up a muscle injury and is replaced by Rolando.
  • 37'
GREAT CHANCE FOR UDINESE! A miscommunication between Ranocchia and Samuel allows Muriel to nip in behind the Inter defence but the Colombian striker can only drag his shot wide of the far post.
  • 35'
Inter patiently spread the ball from right to left but Guarin cannot quite find the top corner with his finessed effort across goal. Mazzarri has signalled to his players that it is still 0-0, he does not want them to sit back at all.
  • 33'
Francesco Guidolin will be extremely disappointed that his side have conceded twice from set-pieces. In truth, they have created extremely little and Inter have been good value for their lead.
  • 31'
Udinese look to respond but Ranocchia gets a crucial toe on the ball to prevent Di Natale from reaching Badu's cross. The home fans voice their frustration.
  • 29'
    Assist Esteban Cambiasso
  • 29'
    Goal Andrea Ranocchia
GOOAALLL INTER! Cambiasso delivers a corner from the left which Brkic flaps it, allowing Ranocchia to emphatically volley into the empty net. The Udinese goalkeeper has not done his team any favours there. 2-0 Inter.
  • 28'
Palacio's movement is causing the Udinese defence problems and Danilo produces a crucial header to prevent the Argentine striker from getting in behind once again and concedes the corner.
  • 27'
Inter look to snatch a second goal immediately but Guarin cannot pick out a fellow black and blue shirt with his cross into the middle. Mazzarri's men have been impressive so far.
  • 25'
    Assist Saphir Taider
  • 25'
    Goal Rodrigo Palacio
PALACIO PUTS INTER AHEAD! Taider's free kick is floated into a perfect area and Palacio ghosts in behind Naldo to glance a header into the far corner. Walter Mazzarri's side are deservedly in the lead.
  • 23'
Inter are definitely on top here and Guidolin will be concerned at the lack of creativity and attacking intent his Udinese side have shown in the opening 23 minutes. After 22 games unbeaten at home, are the Zebrette set for back-to-back defeats at the Friuli?
  • 21'
WHAT A CHANCE FOR INTER! Jonathan threads a neat ball behind the Udinese defence for Nagatomo but his right-footed shot goes wide of the post when he should really have hit the target.
  • 20'
GOOD SAVE FROM BRKIC! Danilo's sloppy pass is easily intercepted by Cambiasso and the Inter captain drives forward before his fierce drive is tipped over the bar by the Udinese goalkeeper. Naldo produces a good clearance from the resulting corner.
  • 18'
Inter are starting to show their quality here and it requires a brilliant sliding challenge from Naldo to prevent Palacio's angled drive from finding the bottom corner after he had been found by Alvarez.
  • 16'
Alvarez does well to find space behind Badu down the left wing and his low cross into the box causes the Udinese defence problems. Domizzi can only poke his clearance to Palacio but the Inter forward's pass is too heavily-weighted for Cambiasso who cannot steer his shot on target.
  • 14'
Badu's pass finds Muriel outside the box but the striker's cross cannot quite pick out Di Natale in the middle and Handanovic races off his line to claim the ball. This game is slowly starting to open up a little.
  • 13'
Udinese are struggling to get the ball up to Muriel and Di Natale at present and Domizzi overhits a long pass which goes straight through for Handanovic to collect. The Slovenian goalkeeper will be keen to keep a clean sheet against his former club.
  • 11'
Alvarez and Guarin combine neatly in the Udinese half but the Colombian's chipped ball is just too far ahead of Cambiasso who had made a good run into the box. That was a nice idea but it didn't quite come off.
  • 9'
It's been a fairly slow start to the game with neither goalkeeper being called into action so far. Lots of bodies cramped into the midfield.
  • 7'
Inter have been plagued by injury over the last 18 months and it seems Nagatomo has a slight knock here. The Japanese wide man has been in good form and Mazzarri will be hoping he can shake it off.
  • 6'
Gabriel Silva dribbles his way down the left before cutting the ball back for Muriel. However, the Colombian is denied a route to a goal by the combination of Ranocchia and Samuel.
  • 4'
Naldo concedes a free kick out on the wing and Cambiasso's resulting cross-cum-shot almost catches out Brkic who looks a little relieved to see the ball go behind.
  • 3'
I think we can expect some goals in this one. Francesco Guidolin's side put eight past Inter in the two league games last season.
  • 2'
Udinese launch the first meaningful attack down the right hand side but Badu's cross into the middle is well blocked by Juan Jesus.
  • 1'
The referee blows his whistle and Inter get the game underway. Can they maintain their unbeaten away start to the season?
  • The two sides emerge from the tunnel and captains Antonio Di Natale and Esteban Cambiasso begin the handshakes between the respective sides. Udinese are in their traditional black and white shirts with Inter also in their usual black and blue jerseys.
  • These two sides have met 40 times in the past with Inter winning 15, while Udinese only have 11 triumphs to their name and 14 draws.
  • However, the good news for Inter is that Javier Zanetti has a spot on the bench for the first time since rupturing his Achilles tendon in April.
  • Walter Mazzarri also makes two changes to the side which drew 1-1 at Atalanta. Andrea Ranocchia returns to the defence in place of Rolando while Saphir Taider replaces Mateo Kovacic. Samir Handanovic has recovered from a hip injury which forced him off in midweek but Mauro Icardi, Diego Milito, Cristian Chivu and Hugo Campagnaro are all injured. Ishak Belfodil is suspended.
  • Francesco Guidolin makes two changes to the team which beat Sassuolo 2-1 as Silvan Widmer and Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu come in to replace Dusan Basta and Andrea Lazzari. Giampiero Pinzi is suspended.
  • INTER (3-5-1-1): Handanovic; Ranocchia, Samuel, Juan Jesus; Jonathan, Taider, Cambiasso, Alvarez, Nagatomo; Guarin; Palacio.
  • UDINESE (3-5-2): Brkic; Naldo, Danilo, Domizzi; Widner, Badu, Allan, Pereryra, Gabriel Silva; Muriel, Di Natale.
  • Without further ado, here are today's lineups starting with the Zebrette...
  • As for Francesco Guidolin's side, they achieved their first away points of the season in a 2-1 win at Sassuolo in midweek to lift them into the top half for the first time this season, with Antonio Di Natale and Luis Muriel both scoring. Both players also got on the scoresheet in Udinese's 3-0 win over Inter here back in January.
  • Inter started life under Walter Mazzarri brilliantly, winning four of their first five Serie A matches. However, they have only managed one win in their last five - a 4-2 home win over Verona last weekend. Although they are unbeaten away from home, they have played out three consecutive draws at Cagliari, Torino and Atalanta.
  • After 22 matches unbeaten at the Stadio Friuli, Udinese finally suffered a home defeat when they were beaten 1-0 by leaders Roma last weekend. The Friuli has proved somewhat of a fortress in recent seasons and Inter themselves succumbed to a 3-0 loss here last year. Can Udinese avoid back-to-back home defeats or will they end the Nerazzurri's unbeaten away record? Bringing you all the action from today's game, my name is Max Bentley.
