The Seahorses will be aiming to return to winning ways…
Udinese have been the worst team in the Italian top flight so far this season and prior to last weekend’s match against Sampdoria in Genoa had lost all of their four league fixtures. However, the Bianconeri got off the mark with an encouraging 0-0 draw but remain at the foot of the league standings.
Udinese have been in these sorts of situations before and have overcome them too. On Saturday the Udine-based side welcome Cesena at home and will be sincerely seeking all three points in order to take some pressure off them.
Seahorses Sinking Further
Cesena’s bubble seems to have burst as the newly promoted Serie A side are struggling to maintain momentum. After four matches without conceding a goal in the league, the Seahorses have shipped in six in their last two games, losing both of them.
Last weekend’s 4-1 defeat to Napoli at home followed a 2-0 away loss in Catania and Massimo Ficcadenti's side are under pressure now. Cesena’s aim has always been to survive the drop to Serie B and with the reality of a very competitive Italian top flight having already sunk, they will be keen to bounce back and take something from their game against Udinese in Udine.
Domizzi, Ferronetti and Denis are unavailable because of injuries. Di Natale and Floro Flores are expected to be the two strikers upfront in a 3-4-1-2 formation.
Chiavarini, Budan, Piangerelli and Fatic are out injured. The newly promoted side will start in a 4-3-3 system.
