The Sardinians should try to win in order to increase the gap between themselves and the relegation zone...
In The Top Half
Udinese are doing good by their last season’s standards, as they are eighth in the league standings at the moment with 13 points from nine matches. The Bianconeri have been struggling since the start of the season when they lost four games in a row in the league but are now in robust form.
Francesco Guidolin’s side have won all of their last five games in all competitions and four out of four in the league. Last weekend Udinese defeated Bari 2-0 away from home to rise up to eighth in the table.
However, for a team like Udinese it can never be take for granted that they are going to carry on winning. Although they are five points clear of the relegation zone, they need to pick up as many points right now since they are in rosy form.
Looking Over Their Shoulders
Cagliari are one of the candidates for relegation from an immensely competitive Serie A but they have started to show improvements. The Sardinians won 2-0 against Bologna last weekend in the league and prior to that game had defeated Piacenza 3-0 in the Coppa Italia.
Pierpaolo Bisoli’s side are 13th in the league standings at the moment with 10 points from nine matches. Even though they remain just two points above the dropzone, they can still be optimistic given that they are in form and the clubs below them are struggling for it.
However, Cagliari need to improve their away record as they have not won a single game on their travels in the league this season.
Basta, Ferronetti and Abdi are out with injuries for Udinese.
Ragatzu, Pisano and Lazzari are unavailable for the trip to Udine because of injuries.
