The travelling supporters are having a party in the away end as the Hammers go into the hat for the semi-final draw. Didn't see that one coming when Spurs were 1-0 up! For Tim Sherwood there were encouraging signs with an injury ravaged side. For Sam Allardyce, he really has a knack of getting results against the North Londoners. I have been Hayden Gribble and however you are spending your evening, have fun!
FULL TIME - TOTTENHAM 1-2 WEST HAM. The Hammers turn it around to beat Spurs for a second time at White Hart Lane this season as goals from Taylor and Maiga cancel out Adebayor's opener. The Sam Allardyce tactical masterplan works again as they frustrated the North Londoners again whose miserable week continues.
90' + 4'
Spurs have a free-kick that is swung in by Sigurdsson that hits Chadli on the back and the Hammers flood forward. The counter attack leads to Maiga hitting the crossbar as Spurs are hanging on!
90' + 3'
CHANCE! Diame manages to stab the ball wide from close range. Spurs fans look throughly miserable in the North London rain.
90' + 1'
GREAT SAVE! Sigurdsson is thwarted by Adrian as the keeper dives low to stop the Iceland International's low shot from the edge of the area.
There will be FIVE minutes of added on time!
CHANCE! Defoe is free in the box and fails to convert his chance from a couple of yards. On closer inspection it looks like McCarthy got in front of the England striker to put it out for a corner. A few moments earlier, Defoe struck a shot that looked like it hit a hand in the box!
GOAL! A cross from the right is headered in by Maiga. West Ham have turned it around!
CHANCE! Spurs flood forward as Defoe puts Chadli through but the Belgian's weak shot is smothered by Adrian.
This game is wide open now. Holtby draws a foul from Collins but it is the away fans who are singing now!
WEST HAM EQUALISE! Another long ball from West Ham results Taylor picking up a flick on and smashing the ball past Lloris from close range.
It has been a great all-round performance from Adebayor tonight in his first start this season. If the game ends as it is, I can see him winning a few man-of-the-match awards for tonight's performance?
Both sides are getting ready to make even more changes. Lewis Holtby is coming on for the home side whilst Ravel Morrison, who scored a sublime goal earlier this season in this fixture, will also come on for Sam Allardyce's men.
CHANCE! A mix up at the back for Spurs allows Taylor to shoot first time from 25 yards. He smashes it low but Lloris flies across goal to keep the Hammers out.
INJURY TO TOWNSEND! The England winger has crumpled to the floor clutching his left hamstring. He had the ball at his feet running at the defence when all of a sudden the winger pulls up with the injury. Chadli is being readied on the touchline.
SAVE! Diame nearly levels the tie as he volleys from 15 yards but Lloris brilliantly parries away form danger.
'Spurs Are On Their Way To Wembley' is ringing around the ground now!
GOAL! He was left in the cold by AVB, but now Adebayor has put Spurs in the lead! The home side fly forward on the counter attack and Townsend puts it down the right wing to Defoe who crosses at the byline where the Togo striker smashes a volley into the back of the net. First blood, Tottenham!
Adebayor wins a corner for the home side as the chant 'Come On You Spurs' rings around White Hart Lane. The Hammers' defence is strangling the life out of this game, it has to be said.
OVER! Walker fires a 25-yard free-kick way over the frame of the goal. Looks like Danny Rose will go off as he continues his return from injury. Zeki Fryers makes his bow...
Yellow CardAlou Diarra
CHANCE! Carlton Cole is thwarted as he breaks inside the Spurs box and his shot is blocked by Chiriches and gathered by Lloris.
Nearly an hour to play here and it is Spurs who are still knocking on the door as Lennon and Townsend swap flanks. Soldado time, Tottenham fans?
OVER! Danny Rose, cutting in from the left side, gets right underneath at shot and puts the ball into orbit. The Spurs fans are getting frustrated here. Still no goals...
CLOSE! Collins, in an attempt to return the ball to Lloris from 80 yards out following an injury, nearly lobs the Frenchman! The punt pulls an unbelievably good save from the Spurs stopper, who is not happy with the defender's lack of gamesmanship.
West Ham are doing well to contain Spurs' build-up play but there is still no cutting edge from either side. The weather is getting worse out there!
CLOSE! Rose and Townsend enjoy a neat passage of play on the right that results in a deeps cross finding Lennon, whose shot is delfected wide for a corner.
Spurs will look to get Townsend on the ball as often as they can as they look to attack the full-backs at any opportunity.
We are back underway!
The players are coming back out just as the rain looks to be easing off at White Hart Lane. Will there be goals in this second half? We can only hope!
STAT ATTACK: The last meeting between these two sides in this competition came back in 2003 with Tottenham winning a third round tie 1-0 courtesy of a Bobby Zamora goal.
HALFTIME - TOTTENHAM 0-0 WEST HAM. The honours are even at the break at a sodden White Hart Lane. It was Spurs who started the brightest with early chances from Defoe and Lennon going begging for the home side. For the visitors, Carlton Cole fired straight at Lloris but the goals are proving elusive in this quarter-final. More to come after the break!
There will be ONE minute of added on time...
Well...the approach play has been commendable from Spurs but there has been a lack of cutting edge in front of goal. Maybe that can be blamed on the lack of match time both Adebayor and Defoe have had lately?
OVER! Walker picks the ball up on the overlap and puts the ball into the box for Adebayor, who blasts it into the top tier of the Park Lane end.
STAT ATTACK: 125 - Tottenham's spell of football without a shot on target ends at 125 minutes. Reprogrammed. (OptaJoe)
SAVE! It's the long ball again from the visitors are Carlton Cole shoots left footed from 18 yards but Lloris is behind it.
SAVE! Good turn and strike from Defoe on the edge of the box but his shot is straight at Adrian between the sticks.
Yellow CardEmmanuel Adebayor
The Hammers are beginning to get into this a little more now as they probe the Spurs back four but they are yet to force Lloris into a meaningful save.
The match has hit a little bit of a lull at the moment as Lloris plucks a cross out of the air from a West Ham free-kick.
STAT ATTACK: Tottenham have won only one of their last six League Cup games against fellow top-flight sides (D2 L3). (BBC Sport)
It might be goaless here but you don't need reminding twice that this is a derby! Walker slides in hard to win a tackle in this rain soaked tie.
BUTTERFINGERS: Oops. James Collins chips a long range free-kick into the box and Lloris drops it...but the referee blows his whistle for offside.
Crikey, Sam Allardyce is going absolutely beserk in the dugout! What can the visitors do to ease their manager's woes?
CHANCE! A long ball from Sigurdsson this time finds Defoe, who blasts over from an acute angle. The rain is lashing down in North London - will the floodgates open soon?
A foul is given against Carlton Cole as he upends Chiriches whilst attempting to latch onto another long ball. The visitors are still under the cosh.
Yet another corner for Spurs! It is a very encouraging start for Sherwood's men. As for the Hammers, they can't find a foothold in this yet.
HANDBALL? Once again it is Townsend who is asking all the questions and his cross strikes O'Brien on the shoulder in the penalty area. The home support shout for the spot kick but instead a corner is given.
WIDE! Townsend takes the ball out left and puts a glorious cross onto the waiting head of Adebayor, whose weak header fails to find the target. Good start, this!
Tottenham have been very quick out of the traps here as they continue to push forward. Their early form has irked Sam Allardyce, who is spitting feathers in the dug out. He will want to see more from the visitors before long.
OVER! West Ham's first chance comes in the form of Jarvis, who takes aim from just outside the box. The Spurs defence was standing off the winger there!
WIDE! Townsend cuts inside and runs at a nervous Hammers defence. He shoots from 25 yards and it is well wide, but the early signs are that Spurs are well on top.
SO CLOSE! The first chance of the evening falls to the home side. Lennon is sent on his way down the right flank and he cuts the ball back for Sugrdsson in the box, whose shot is blocked but Defoe picks up the loose ball and lashes it wide!
West Ham get us underway, kicking from left to right!
We have just under ten minutes until kick-off!
STAT ATTACK: West Ham's 3-0 win over Tottenham earlier this season, and the win over Burnley in the last round of this competition, are their only victories away from home this season.
...But then again, a week is a long week in football and now it is Techincal Co-Ordinator Tim Sherwood, who has been appointed to oversee yet another period of transition under chairman Daniel Levy. I can never be dull being a Spurs fan, that's for sure!
Who'd have thought a week ago that Spurs would be managerless going into this one? Before that humilating defeat to Liverpool at the weekend, Andre Villas-Boas had led his side to the last eight of this tournament, the knockout stages of the Europa League and they were just a win away from rejoining the Premier League's top four...
If the home side thought they had problems, West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is missing a catalogue of first team players and makes seven changes to his side. James Tomkins, Winston Reid, Andy Carroll and Ricardo Vaz Te are just a few of the names who are on the sidelines but both Joe and Carlton Cole are fit to start.
As expected, Emmanuel Adebayor comes in from the cold to lead Tottenham's attack with Hammers' old boy Jermain Defoe as Interim boss Tim Sherwood makes six changes. Vlad Chiriches comes back from injury but Sandro is missing with a calf problem and Michael Dawson and Paulinho are serving bans.
West Ham (4-2-3-1): Adrian; O'Brien, Collins, McCartney, Rat; Collison, Diarra; Taylor, J Cole, Jarvis; C Cole. Subs: Jaaskelainen, Noble, Diame, Demel, Morrison, Maiga, Chambers.
Tottenham (4-4-2): Lloris; Walker, Chiriches, Capoue, Rose; Lennon, Dembele, Sigurdsson, Townsend; Adebayor, Defoe. Subs: Friedel, Fredericks, Fryers, Chadli, Eriksen, Holtby, Soldado.
