  • That's all we have time for from White Hart Lane and I hope you have enjoyed our live coverage of Spurs' hard-fought 2-0 win over Crystal Palace. I've been Simon Harrison, and I hope to see you all again next time.
  • That makes it 13 points from 15 for Tim Sherwood, since taking over from Andre Villas-Boas, and Spurs are well in the race for the fourth Champions League spot. No points for Palace, despite a spirited performance, who fail to capitalise on a strong opening 45 minutes.
  • FULL TIME! A Jermain Defoe goal wrapped up the three points for Sherwood's side, despite the Eagles causing all kinds of problems in the first half. Puncheon's penalty miss set the tone for Palace, who couldn't find the net, before goals from Eriksen and Defoe punished their lack of killer instinct.
  • 90' + 4'
CHAMAKH! The tall striker rises well, looking to nod the ball into the top corner, but a slight touch from Lloris sends it behind for another corner. The same man meets this delivery, but can't get it on target at the near post.
  • 90' + 2'
GUEDIOURA! That's centimetres wide of the post! The Algeria international tries his luck from long range, audaciously, and nearly catches Lloris out. He loves a thunderbolt, as shown during his spell at Wolves.
  • 90'
JEDINAK! The Australia international beats Lloris to the corner delivery, but can only glance his effort across the face of goal. Palace just can't find the back of the net, but we are inside the transfer window. Pulis still has time to remedy their lack of cutting edge.
  • 89'
Only a few minutes left in this game, but Palace took their foot off the gas a long time ago. It's been a spirited performance, but the away side just haven't been able to find a scoring touch. Gayle rises well to meet a free kick delivery, but it's cleared behind for a corner instead.
  • 88'
Good covering from Dawson! Bentaleb gives the ball away to Chamakh, who lays the ball back to Jedinak. The Eagles' captain sprays the ball out wide to Williams, who dances into the box, before a strong challenge from the English centre-back takes possession from the youngster - before clearing upfield.
  • 86'
Good move from Palace! Williams and Guedioura exchange passes just outside of the Spurs penalty area, before the Algerian plays Parr in behind Naughton. The Norwegian full-back gets to the byline, but his cross is deflected behind for a corner, which Lloris punches clear.
  • 84'
Gayle hasn't been able to have the same impact on the game as Chamakh and Jerome, with the diminutive striker being unable to feed off the scraps. As their dangerous wide men tired, Palace's steam began to run out, with Pulis' side seemingly looking towards damage limitation now.
  • 82'
    Substitution Jason Puncheon Adlène Guedioura
  • 82'
Puncheon takes to the substitutes bench, as Pulis makes his final change, and rubs his eyes as he does so. The former Blackpool man is probably reliving his penalty miss over and over again in his mind, and rightly so. Potentially the worst penalty of the season, certainly thus far.
  • 80'
    Yellow Card Kyle Naughton
  • 80'
Ten minutes left on the clock, and Spurs look to be heading towards their fourth win in their last six games in all competitions. Considering their woeful first half showing, the White Hart Lane faithful can be encouraged slightly by their second half resurgence. Palace are beginning to tire after an explosive start.
  • 79'
Good consecutive headers from Jedinak, as the Palace captain clears the danger from a well-placed Spurs free kick. The away side are continuing to defend well, but pace in wide areas is beginning to take its toll.
  • 78'
Moments after coming on, Chadli appears to have injured himself within minutes of taking to the field. He looked to collide with the advertising boards behind Speroni's goal, and is receiving treatment.
  • 77'
    Yellow Card Mile Jedinak
  • 76'
    Substitution Christian Eriksen Nacer Chadli
  • 76'
Spurs' first goalscorer is replaced by Chadli, as Sherwood attempts to keep his side fresh. Defoe is causing all types of issues for Palace, with his darting runs proving too much for the lumbering likes of Jedinak and Mariappa to handle.
  • 74'
Less than 20 minutes left to play, and Spurs are in an excellent position, looking set to keep pace with those chasing the fourth Champions League spot. It may not have been a convincing performance, but Sherwood's side are grinding out the three points.
  • 73'
    Assist Aaron Lennon
  • 73'
    Goal Jermain Defoe
GOOOOOOOOOOOAL! JERMAIN DEFOE CONVERTS ON HIS RETURN FROM INJURY! It had to be, the England international makes it 2-0! He might be on his way, but he's just helped to clinch an important three points for Spurs! He scoops the ball over Speroni brilliantly, firing into the roof of the net.
  • 70'
    Yellow Card Adrian Mariappa
  • 70'
Spurs continue to look untroubled, with neither goalkeeper being forced into action too often. Lloris hasn't had a save to make in the second half, highlighting how Spurs have improved. After adding fresh legs to his side, however, Pulis' Eagles still provide a threat on the counter.
  • 69'
    Substitution Cameron Jerome Dwight Gayle
  • 69'
    Substitution Yannick Bolasie Jonathan Williams
  • 68'
Jerome presses Chiriches excellently, but the Romanian is clever enough to drop a shoulder and escape from the former Stoke man. Pulis looks to his bench, bringing on Gayle and Williams in place of Jerome and Bolasie. The young Welshman, in particular, could prove to be a handful.
  • 66'
Sherwood's men are in control, able to enjoy possession without any real pressure from Palace's front two. Pulis appears keen for his side to remain hard to break down, while still being able to break with the pace of Jerome, Bolasie and Puncheon whenever possible.
  • 64'
ADEBAYOR! The ball is in the back of the net, but only after the Spurs forward crunches into Speroni, who had claimed a looping Defoe cross. The referee pulls play back, rightly, and Tottenham continue to look for the desirable cushion of a second goal.
  • 62'
The home crowd sound much more settled, testament to how Spurs have stroke the ball around nicely since returning to the field. Defoe is allowed to turn in the penalty area, before stabbing an effort narrowly wide of the far post.
  • 60'
Half an hour remaining, and Sherwood will be pleased with how his side have come out from their half time break. Naughton has been more solid than Walker, and Eriksen's goal was a good enough finish to settle any game. Palace need points, however, and still are a threat.
  • 58'
Jermain Defoe takes to the field, to rapturous applause from the home crowd, given the recent news that the 31-year-old will be jetting off to Toronto FC in February. Jerome looks to spoil the mood, but smashes an ambitious effort into the side netting from a tight angle.
  • 57'
    Substitution Roberto Soldado Jermain Defoe
  • 57'
Good clearance from Chamakh! The former Bordeaux man finds himself back in his own box to defend a corner, hoofing clear a Dawson knock-down which almost fell to the feet of Adebayor. After a quiet first half, the Togo international has been given better service, and looks threatening.
  • 55'
ADEBAYOR! Good defending from Delaney! Rose gets to the byline quickly after being slipped in behind by Bentaleb, but the Palace defender is alert to the danger, putting himself in between the cross and it's intended target of Adebayor at the near post. Nearly 2-0 there.
  • 53'
A penalty shout for Palace, as Rose controls with his thigh, but with possible help from his lowered hand. The away side claim, but Michael Oliver isn't interested. The visitors just can't find a way to put the ball beyond Lloris this afternoon.
  • 52'
Despite all of their good first half work, Palace find themselves behind here. Excellent finish from Eriksen, after Naughton's first ball forward finds the intended target of Adebayor. Sherwood's probable half time berating of his side has presumably given them the motivation they needed.
  • 50'
    Assist Emmanuel Adebayor
  • 50'
    Goal Christian Eriksen
GOOOOOOAL! ERIKSEN SCORES TO GIVE THE HOSTS THE LEAD! Spurs lead 1-0! A long ball forward from Naughton is flicked on by Adebayor, allowing for the former Ajax midfielder to control the ball in his stride, before thumping the ball into the roof of the net.
  • 49'
Straight swap for Spurs, as Naughton replaces Walker, as the first choice right-back appears to be injured. The home side are pressing forward from the outset, with Lennon driving down the left flank well, before squaring for Rose, who couldn't quite connect.
  • 48'
    Substitution Kyle Walker Kyle Naughton
  • 48'
Soldado is given the ball by Rose, receiving it deep into the Palace penalty box, flicking around the corner for the advancing Eriksen. The Dane shapes to shoot, stutters, takes another touch wide of goal to set himself, before a good block by Delaney directs the effort into the path of Parr, who clears.
  • 47'
Good play from Dembele! The powerful midfielder drops a shoulder, escaping Mariappa's clutches, before an important interceptions from Jedinak stops him in his tracks. A better start.
  • 46'
We are back underway in the second half. Spurs have plenty of improvement to do in the second 45 minutes, but Palace have probably heard about results in other matches. West Ham and Sunderland are leading, making today a very important day for the Eagles' survival hopes.
  • Be sure to join us for all of the second half action, as Spurs look to rectify a disappointing first half performance. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Jermain Defoe take to the field sooner rather than later, as Sherwood's initial striking partnership has been lacklustre at best.
  • Plenty to think about for Sherwood at the break, but things could be worse, as Palace certainly have had ample opportunity to take the lead. Pulis' side have struggled to find the net away from home, and that theme appears set to continue this afternoon.
  • Adebayor and Soldado have been nearly non-existent for the home side, with much of Spurs' goal threat coming from young midfielder Bentaleb. Palace have been impressive, with Jerome and Chamakh bullying the hosts' back four, and Bolasie and Puncheon offering flying support down the flanks.
  • HALF TIME! A shaky first half for the hosts, as Palace stunned Sherwood's men after coming out of the blocks quickly. The best chances of the half have been Puncheon's early penalty, and Bentaleb cracking a long-range effort off the inside of the post. It remains 0-0 at the break.
  • 45' + 2'
SOLDADO! The Spaniard tries to fire a half volley towards goal at the back post, but instead cannons his miscued strike over to the other flank, picking out a teammate. Not sure that he meant that!
  • 45'
Two minutes of stoppage time have been awarded in the first half, due to the minutes spent treating Chiriches.
  • 44'
It looks as though the former Steaua Bucharest defender will be okay to continue, but he's needing a spot of treatment. It was accidental from Chamakh, but he undoubtedly caught his marker in the face.
  • 43'
Tottenham continue to look to pump balls into the area from the advancing suppliers of Rose and Walker, but inaccuracy prevails once again. Gabbidon steps in this time, to clear Rose's low delivery. Chamakh and Chiriches then clash, with the Moroccan catching the Romanian with a flailing forearm.
  • 41'
Jedinak gives away a foul on the edge of the Palace penalty area, as the Australian looked to grab at the arm of Dembele. Walker takes from 20 yards, but the right-back fires directly into the wall, with Bolasie heading well clear. More woe for Walker.
  • 40'
Soldado picks up the ball in the centre of midfield, before driving forward, stabbing the ball out wide to Adebayor on the right flank. The former City striker cuts inside, before looking to find Eriksen in the area with an incisive pass, but Gabbidon steps in to clear. Inaccurate passing the order of the day for Spurs.
  • 38'
Soldado is given the ball for possibly the second time during the match, but is immediately robbed of the ball, before making no effort to win it back. Both Spurs strikers have been frustrating so far, with the Spaniard in particular failing to get involved whatsoever.
  • 36'
Palace continue to play composedly, with Parr keen to get forward from left-back whenever possible. Jerome and Chamakh keep taking the ball into feet, before drifting off to either flank, making it difficult for the hosts to commit defenders to go with their man.
  • 34'
BENTALEB! Good defending from Delaney! The experienced defender closes the pacey winger down well, as a loose ball falls to the England international in the penalty area. Bentaleb then strikes from range, cracking the inside of the post before the ball bounces across the line and away!
  • 33'
Fortunate for Spurs! Bolasie inadvertently blocks Jedinak's goal-bound effort, as the Palace midfielder tries to tuck the ball home from eight yards out. The hosts get away with poor defending once again, and the Eagles will be wondering how they aren't ahead.
  • 32'
PUNCHEON! Chamakh holds up the ball well, before setting it back to the supporting right winger, who unleashed first time, rattling the ball into the side netting! Close for Palace, and it's a corner as the ball took a slight deflection.
  • 31'
ADEBAYOR! Lennon whips in a great ball from the right hand side, but Mariappa competes with his man well to prevent the Togo forward from meeting the cross. Moments earlier, Palace broke with pace, but Chamakh couldn't play Jerome through on goal.
  • 30'
The half hour marks passes without Soldado and Adebayor having any effect on this game. Sherwood's decision to field two up front was a bold one, as was expected, but it's not come off thus far. Delaney and Gabbidon have been untroubled.
  • 29'
Another poor delivery from Mariappa, as the Jamaican defender fails to impress in advanced areas once again. Perhaps understandable, given that right-back is normally Ward's post, but Pulis would still prefer much better service. Spurs continue to look devoid of ideas.
  • 27'
Palace are looking more inventive, but are just lacking that final ball, with Chamakh and Jerome not being given the service they desire. Lloris' throw to Rose is immediately robbed by Chamakh, as the hosts continue to really threaten. Jerome sees a powerful strike beaten away well by Lloris!
  • 26'
Kyle Walker adds to his terrible performance with a terrible challenge on Jedinak, which should have earned the England international a yellow card - instead he is given his final warning by Michael Oliver. Palace continue to look more dangerous going forward, with Puncheon's driving to the byline and nearly finding Bolasie at the far post.
  • 24'
It's now Dembele's turn to give the ball away, but Bentaleb robs Bolasie, the benefactor, of the ball. The youngster has been tenacious so far, earning himself a fair bit of praise from the home crowd. A bright spark amongst a rather error-prone opening half an hour from Spurs.
  • 22'
Spurs have a nice spell of possession, but the vast majority of it is kept inside their own half. Palace continue to stay in shape and frustrate, with Walker being forced to play direct into the penalty area in search of Adebayor. The hosts' right-back has had an absolutely torrid first half.
  • 20'
Well claimed by Lloris! The Frenchman is quick off his line to take a Bolasie cross out of the air, as Spurs remain resolute. Soldado and Adebayor haven't been given any service thus far, and at times like this it seems puzzling as to why Sherwood persists with two men up front.
  • 18'
Certainly surprising to see a relegation-threatened team looking the more composed in an away game, especially given Palace's inability to find the net on the road. If Puncheon had converted his early penalty chance, Palace would have enjoyed the dream start, but instead they're still tussling for control with the home side.
  • 17'
Spurs have plenty of mistakes in them at the minute, with Walker and Dawson giving the ball away cheaply in quick succession. Their approach play around the penalty area has been impressive, but there are huge gaps in the hosts' defence.
  • 15'
Kyle Walker balloons a crossfield pass out of play, as Tottenham continue to struggle to find their feet in this game. Palace look hungrier and well aware of what they can achieve with three points here this afternoon. Ward throws himself at a corner delivery, but the right-back, by trade, can't hit the target.
  • 13'
Jerome and Chamakh continue to work excellently, as the big men either hold up the ball and wait for support, or draw fouls from the defenders they've drawn out of position. Spurs haven't been awful in the opening 15 minutes, but Adebayor and Soldado have been rather anonymous.
  • 12'
Poor delivery from Mariappa, as the former Reading defender smashes a cross from deep over Lloris' crossbar. Sherwood is out at the edge of his technical area, telling his players to keep calm and keep communicating, as they've been shocked by Palace's bright start.
  • 11'
CHAMAKH! Narrowly over from the Moroccan forward! He looks to be able to convert from a corner, but Jedinak piles into the back of his own teammate, preventing Chamakh from hitting the target. Another close have for Spurs.
  • 10'
This could have been a disastrous first ten minutes for Spurs, but they've been saved by Puncheon's terrible penalty effort. Chamakh is causing plenty of problems, with Tottenham's midfield struggling to power him off the ball when he collects from deep.
  • 8'
    Missed Penalty Jason Puncheon
WHAT A TERRIBLE MISS! Puncheon absolutely skies it, and Pulis cannot believe it! Their great start was almost rewarded, but the former Blackpool winger sends the ball high and wide, despite sending Lloris the wrong way. Awful penalty effort.
  • 7'
PENALTY! THE REFEREE POINTS TO THE SPOT FOR PALACE! Delaney drives forward, before playing Chamakh in behind Dembele, but the Belgium international brings down the former Arsenal man! Definite penalty!
  • 6'
Palace are able to set their wing-backs free, as the away side continue to look confident in the early stages. Chamakh and Jerome are able to hold the ball up powerfully, before waiting for support from midfield, something which is causing Tottenham's high defensive line a few problems.
  • 5'
BENTALEB! On his first Premier League start, the young midfielder isn't afraid to have a go! From 25 yards, his low drive tests Speroni, who almost spills the ball out to the lurking Soldado. Spurs continue to only see any of the ball in deep areas, as Palace stay in shape resolutely, but that half chance was promising.
  • 3'
Great challenge from Dembele, as the Belgian stops an onrushing Chamakh in his tracks. This has been an excellent start from the newly promoted side, as they look to play direct and get in behind Spurs' high line. Bolasie and Puncheon have already been able to stretch their legs on the wings.
  • 2'
OFFSIDE! Jerome is caught offside, after an excellent bursting run through the centre of midfield by Joel Ward sees the former Stoke striker threaded through on goal. Lloris closes down the Englishman, but the linesman's flag was already raised. Good tempo to Palace's game in the opening two minutes. Puncheon drags a long-range strike wide of the post.
  • 1'
We are underway in the first half! This game promises to be all-action, given the rewards on offer for both sides, and especially given Sherwood's commitment to attacking football. The former midfielder has again opted to field Soldado and Adebayor alongside each other in attack, and will hope to see the Spaniard pick up a confidence-boosting goal this afternoon.
  • Kick off is a little more than ten minutes away, so be sure to stay with us for all of the action as it happens. This game has plenty of influence on both ends of the table, and given Palace's plucky resilience under Tony Pulis, the home side could have a tricky obstacle to overcome this afternoon.
  • Depending on other results, Palace could climb as high as 15th place this afternoon, as Pulis' men bid to survive the current Premier League season. Should the home side pick up the three points, Spurs will be keeping good pace in the race for fourth. If Sherwood's men win, and Everton fail to take three points against Norwich, Tottenham will temporarily be in fourth place.
  • Jermain Defoe is named on the bench today, after Tottenham announced that the England international would be sold to Toronto FC of the MLS, with the deal starting on February 28th. The Canadian club have added Defoe to their ranks, as well as Roma midfielder Michael Bradley, with the 31-year-old having one more month to make an impact for Tim Sherwood, after a total of 10 seasons at the club, in two spells.
  • Palace substitutes: Price, Moxey, O'Keefe, Williams, Bannan, Guedioura, Gayle.
  • Palace starting line-up: Speroni; Mariappa, Gabbidon, Delaney, Parr; Bolasie, Ward, Jedinak, Puncheon; Chamakh, Jerome.
  • Spurs substitutes: Friedel, Naughton, Holtby, Capoue, Chadli, Fryers, Defoe.
  • Spurs starting line-up: Lloris; Walker, Chiriches, Dawson, Rose; Lennon, Dembele, Bentaleb, Eriksen; Adebayor, Soldado.
  • TEAM NEWS: Spurs stick with an unchanged side from their 2-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal, with Lewis Holtby, Jermain Defoe and Kyle Naughton back on the substitutes bench after injury. Palace name Cameron Jerome and Marouane Chamakh in attack, despite Dwight Gayle's goal against the Baggies, with Joel Ward seemingly being deployed in the centre of midfield.
  • I'm Simon Harrison, and I will be keeping you up to date with proceedings, as Spurs look for their fourth win in their last six games in all competitions. Last time out saw Sherwood's men lose disappointingly to Arsenal, but the hosts will be looking to get back on track against a Palace side who sit in 18th place heading into this fixture. Tony Pulis' outfit are buoyed by their FA Cup win over West Brom at the weekend, but more important things are at stake today.
  • Hello and welcome to live coverage of Tottenham's Premier League clash against Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane. The visitors could look to climb out of the relegation zone with three points here this afternoon, while Spurs will continue their transition towards the more attacking football of new boss Tim Sherwood.
