Thanks for joining this LIVE! text commentary with me, Tom Etherington (tom_etherington). Goodbye.
Swansea 2-2 Liverpool. The visitors go top and Swansea move out of the bottom three after a very entertaining draw at the Liberty Stadium. Jonjo Shelvey had a hand in all four goals on the night and his side could have gone on to win. Both managers will be happy with the result though.
90' + 5'
Great last-ditch tackle by Chico Flores to deny Sturridge from grabbing a winner!
90' + 4'
SHOT! Michu can't get enough power behind his first-time strike from the edge of the area and Mignolet saves well.
90' + 2'
Sahko, who has not had the best of debuts, manages to make up for an error with a strong sliding challenge in the box to keep Michu out.
90' + 1'
Swansea are still asking questions but the Reds are managing to clear the danger. Their backs are to the wall right now.
There will be five minutes of stoppage time.
Liverpool are hanging on here and will be happy with a point after this second half.
SAVE! Mignolet dives to the left of his goal well to push a brilliant curling free kick from De Guzman out for a corner.
Rangel shows good strength to hold off a challenge from Sterling but goes to ground to buy his side a free kick in a good position.
A second corner won by Routledge comes to nothing as Mignolet claims the ball with ease.
SHOT! De Guzman arrives late and hits a first-time effort from 25 yards but it goes high and wide. He should have tested the goalkeeper there.
Sterling immediately earns a free-kick on the left. Gerrard goes for goal to try and catch Vorm out, but it goes over the crossbar. Wasteful from the skipper.
Routledge gets the wrong side of Henderson and wins his side's first corner of the game, but it comes to nothing.
Brendan Rodgers is about to make a change, with Raheem Sterling set to enter the fray.
Swansea look the most likely to grab a winner here. As it stands, Liverpool will go top of the league and the hosts will move out of the bottom three and into 13th.
SHOT! Michu flashes a volley a few yards wide of the post as another chances goes begging.
SHOT! Shelvey drills his free kick through the wall but it is straight at the goalkeeper. Easy save.
Free kick to the hosts after a foul by Lucas Leiva in a dangerous position. Shelvey immediately grabs the ball to take the set piece.
Entertaining stuff at the Liberty Stadium as both sides push for a winning goal. Swansea on top at the minute.
Bony goes off due to a minor rib injury that he has picked up.
Yellow Card Andre Wisdom
Wisdom picks up a booking after a heavy challenge on Davies on the right flank.
Assist Jonjo Shelvey
So that's a goal, two glaring errors and an assist for Jonjo Shelvey tonight. I wouldn't be surprised if he scores the winner.
GOAL! Swansea 2-2 Liverpool. Shelvey redeems himself with a great knock down from Britton's chipped pass to set up Michu, who stabs the ball past Mignolet to claim his first goal of the new season.
Good defending from Williams as he makes another crucial interception to block a volley from Gerrard. Corner kick.
Yellow Card Jordan Henderson
The tempo of the game has slowed slightly due to the string of stoppages. Swansea look capable of finding an equaliser though.
@Ricardo_shetty: "Jonjo Shelvey has made 2 assists for Liverpool this season , more than the whole of last season for them #confusion!" @Herperks: "I think Shelvey still plays for LFC judging from this game!"
Bony is still down and requires treament. Perfect time for some of your numerous comments about Shelvey...
Yellow Card Jonjo Shelvey
Yellow Card Lucas Leiva
SAVE! Mignolet comes a long way off his line to punch a cross into the box clear, but the goalkeeper flattens Bony in the process.
Coutinho has had to go off with a shoulder problem after that needless challenge from Williams.
Lucas and Shelvey are seperated after some shoving and booked by the referee.
CHANCE! Gerrard finds Henderson at the far post with a free-kick from a similar position. The former Sunderland man plays the ball back across the face of goal but Vorm keeps out the shot from Wisdom.
The Liverpool skipper pings a ball into the six-yard box and forces Flores to head over his own crossbar. Resulting corner is cleared by Swansea.
Gerrard stands over the free kick around 30 yards out.
Yellow Card Ashley Williams
The young Brazilian has stayed down after that challenge and needs treatment on the pitch.
Ashley Williams brings down Coutinho with a cynical high foot. Free kick to Liverpool and yellow card for the Swans skipper.
The hosts have started brightly here as they look to pull level.
Jonathan De Guzmán
Swansea have made one change at the break, bringing on Jonathan de Guzman for Nathan Dyer.
Bony and Michu get the action back underway for the hosts.
The two teams are back out for the second half. Jonjo Shelvey does not look like a happy man.
Some of your views on Twitter...@govbussy: "Victor Moses is the man. Scoring a debut goal is a great achievement for a footballer." @AdiEmTheVamp: "Shelvey gave us one reason why we bought him & then two reasons for selling him. #LFC" @javier_muller: "Michu needs to be more dangerous, but this game will end in a draw."
What did you make of that first half? Which players stood out for you? Let me know on Twitter via @tom_etherington.
Liverpool lead at the break after another goal from Daniel Sturridge and a debut strike by Victor Moses. It has been a night to forget so far for former Reds midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, who gave Swansea the lead inside two minutes but cost his side two goals with two poor passes.
45' + 2'
The referee blows his whistle to bring the first 45 minutes to an end.
45' + 1'
Bony finds space on the left but his hanging cross towards Michu is too close to Mignolet.
There will be a minimum of two additional minutes at the end of this half.
SHOT! Michu sees an effort from the edge of the area blocked but manages to set up Rangel, who flashes a low shot across the face of goal.
STAT: The last time Liverpool won the first four games of a league season was in 1990-91 - before the days of the Premier League.
The Slovakian defender goes off for some treatment but is back in the action now.
CHANCE! Another opportunity for the hosts to net an immediate equaliser after Mignolet parries a shot from Dyer. But Skrtel slides in with a fantastic tackle to deny Bony a tap in.
Goal Victor Moses
GOAL! Swansea 1-2 Liverpool. Victor Moses scores on his debut! Another poor pass from Shelvey gives the Chelsea loanee possession in midfield. Moses advances on goal before drilling home a powerful effort past Vorm.
SAVE! Swansea respond immediately as Michu forces Mignolet to make a good save with a well-struck shot.
Swansea are enjoying a better spell now. Another cross from the left by Davies finds Bony, who hits a half-volley over the bar.
Michu and Bony combine well but the Ivorian striker fires a weak shot towards the corner, which Mignolet has to collapse down to his left to clutch.
Swansea almost gift Liverpool another goal as a mix up between Rangel and Vorm nearly gives Moses an open goal to tap into but the hosts manage to clear.
Flores switches the ball to Davies, who swings a cross towards Dyer. However, he can't get to the ball and it goes out for a throw in.
SAVE! Sturridge meets a Moses cross from the left with a downward header but the unmarked striker fails to beat Vorm from close range.
CHANCE! Moses races towards goal and flicks the ball to his right for Henderson but he is denied by a great block from Davies.
Angel Rangel fizzes a volleyed cross into the box from the right but there are no Swansea shirts there to get on the end of it.
Coutinho wins a corner for Liverpool after a challenge from Chico, but Wisdom loops his header way over the top.
Gerrard goes into a hard challenge on Williams and wins the ball but deflects it out for a throw. The Swansea captain shoves Gerrard as the pair walk back past each other.
SHOT! Shelvey goes for goal from outside the box but it goes well over. Roller coaster of a game so far for the young England international.
SHOT! Gerrard plays a first-time ball in-behind for Sturridge but the striker eventually takes it too far wide before firing over the bar.
Things have settled down after that frantic start. Liverpool are stroking the ball around, while the hosts look happy to play on the counter.
SHOT! Bony goes for goal from 25 yards with a powerful drilled effort but Mignolet gets down well to save.
Coutinho exchanges passes with Henderson before cutting inside and firing a shot that is comfortable for Vorm to catch.
STAT: Sturridge is now the first Liverpool player to score in the first four games of a league campaign since John Aldridge hit the net in each of the first 8 fixtures in 1987.
Goal Daniel Sturridge
GOAL!! Swansea 1-1 Liverpool! Hero to zero for Shelvey as he tries to pass the ball back to the goalkeeper and Sturridge is on hand to drill a low shot into the corner. What a start!
Goal Jonjo Shelvey
GOAL!! Swansea 1-0 Liverpool. Jonjo Shelvey scores against his former club! It was bound to happen but it took less than two minutes. Shelvey sees an effort blocked by Skrtel but he slots the rebound past Simon Mignolet.
Lots of predictions coming in on Twitter. @peterspeaking and @javier_muller also think a 1-1 draw.
Liverpool get the action underway!
Warm welcome from the home fans for former Swansea boss Rodgers.
Kick off is just moments away.
The teams are making their way out of the Liberty Stadium tunnel and onto the pitch.
Let me know your pre-match thoughts and predictions on Twitter via @tom_etherington. I'm personally looking forward to seeing what Victor Moses has to offer this evening and I think Liverpool are going to need to score more than one goal to claim another three points here. But I'm not sure if they can so I am going to predict a 1-1 draw.
Steven Gerrard is set to lead Liverpool out as captain for the 400th time in his career and three points would secure the club's 400th win in their Premier League history.
Rodgers has made three changes from the side which earned a narrow win against Manchester United a fortnight ago. New recruits Moses and Sakho, both signed on transfer deadline day, make their Reds debuts.
So, Laudrup brings two new faces into his starting XI after their last outing, with central midfielder Leon Britton replacing the injured Jose Canas, while fit-again Nathan Dyer starts out wide in place of Pablo Hernandez.
LIVERPOOL SUBS: Jones, Kelly, Toure, Alberto, Aspas, Sterling, Ibe.
LIVERPOOL XI: Mignolet, Wisdom, Skrtel, Sakho, Enrique, Lucas, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, Moses, Sturridge.
SWANSEA SUBS: Tremmel, Jordi Amat, Tiendalli, De Guzman, Canas, Pozuelo, Vazquez.
SWANSEA XI: Vorm, Rangel, Chico Flores, Williams, Davies, Britton, Shelvey, Michu, Dyer, Routledge, Bony.
The teams are in so let's take a look at those starting line-ups…
Laudrup has a handful of injury concerns with Jonjo Shelvey (thigh) a doubt to face his former club and winger Nathan Dyer (hamstring) facing a late fitness test. Neil Taylor will definitely miss out due to a thigh injury.
Meanwhile, Michael Laudrup's men have faced a tough start, with clashes against Manchester United and Tottenham leaving them with nothing to show for their efforts. However, the Swans managed to pick up their first points of the new season with a 2-0 win at West Brom prior to the international break.
Daniel Sturridge has scored all three of Liverpool's goals so far this term but is a doubt to feature this evening due to a thigh injury, while Joe Allen (hamstring) and Kolo Toure (groin) could also miss out. New signings Mamadou Sakho, Tiago Ilori and Victor Moses may feature for the visitors.
Brendan Rodgers returns to his former club looking to extend Liverpool's 100 per cent record this season. The Anfield club have recorded three successive 1-0 wins and can return to the top of the table with at least one point this evening.
