That's all from here - I hope you enjoyed tonight's coverage. Until next time, all the best.
After Ribery's opener, the hosts never really looked like scoring. The result had its cost for Bayern, though, as Schweinsteiger will surely be sidelined for at least the immediate future. Tune in to Goal.com regularly for updates on that situation.
FULL TIME! Bayern advance to the DFB-Pokal semi-final following a convincing win. Jupp Heynckes' tactical change to drop Robben and bring Kroos into attacking midfield proved to be just the charm needed to get the best out of his team once more.
90' + 1'
Oh, last-ditch defending from Molinaro saves a certain goal! Muller would have been off and running with a two-on-one, but the left-back sprints across the path of the ball to intercept. Looks like this one will end 2-0...
Tymoshchuk replaces Kroos, who had a good first half but was rather quiet afterward...
Arjen Robben has been waiting to make his substitution, but apparently will not be on before full time. Anatoliy Tymoshchuk appears ready to be introduced in the final moments...
Harnik nearly concedes possession deep in his own half, but does just enough to pass the ball back and evade Gomez.
Late substitutions now: for Stuttgart, Raphael Holzhauser replaces Gentner; for Bayern, Ivica Olic is given a brief run-out, taking the place of Ribery.
Ribery is in an offside position and is surprised to receive the ball without the play being whistled dead. He shoots, but the ball loops over the bar and out of play.
All the urgency has gone from this game in recent minutes. A goal from Stuttgart could really make things interesting, but don't count on it...
Yellow Card Franck Ribéry
Silly from Ribery, who is booked for a dive after Tasci lunged near him without making contact. Play had continued and Bayern had a chance to score, but Meyer called play dead before anything could come of it.
RIBERY WITH A HEADER! But SAVED by Ulreich! What a goal that would have been - Luiz Gustavo crosses to the Frenchman, who aims a very good header towards the far post, but is denied by the diving goalkeeper.
Chance for Stuttgatt! Cacau fires low and Neuer manages to parry. The goalkeeper is quick to his feet and beats Ibisevic to the rebound, but the Bosnian's momentum carries his foot into Neuer's head, and the goalkeeper is not so pleased!
Well defended this time as Boateng clears while on his back...
Schieber wins a foul from Muller on the left flank, and it's a free kick for Stuttgart in a potentially dangerous area...
Much better from the visitors, who are finally beginning to show their teeth. Can they pull one back?
Yellow Card Jerome Boateng
Boateng becomes the first Bayern player to be booked. The centre-back had tracked Cacau deep and appeared to win the ball as he was kicked in the foot by the Stuttgart man. However, referee Florian Meyer judges the offence to have been committed by Boateng.
STUTTGART SCORE! But called back! Cacau does very well to hold up the ball before spreading wide to the right. Neuer and Ibisevic rise to claim a cross and the goalkeeper spills it before the striker taps home. However, Ibisevic is adjudged to have committed a foul, and the score remains 2-0.
Cacau clatters into Ribery, who was quite casual on the ball. Free kick for Bayern near the half-way line.
Muller nearly gets his goal, but Molinaro does well to track him and force the German to redirect wide from his sliding attempt.
Champagne football from Bayern: Ribery takes down a cross-field pass with the softest of touches, and a few moments later, Kroos comes within a foot of playing the perfect through ball to Gomez. Ulreich is quick off his line to claim possession, though.
First substitution for the hosts: Martin Harnik is on for the winger Okazaki
Oh, near chance for the hosts! Okazaki takes the ball off Alaba's boot, but the Japanese attacker's touch is too strong as Boateng recovers to pass back to Neuer.
Ribery twice gets the better of Boulahrouz before crossing low, but in each instance, the Stuttgart defence manages to clear.
Muller is sandwiched between Gentner and Molinaro, but after letting out a howl in pain, is back on his feet and ready to continue.
Much of the Mercedes-Benz Arena has gone silent in recent minutes. There is very, very little life in the home team.
That goal was far, far too easy for Bayern. Niedermeier completely over-ran the play and left Gomez unmarked in the centre. If they keep playing like this, Stuttgart could be in serious trouble...
Goal Mario Gomez
GOMEZ TOR! 2-0 BAYERN! Terrible defending by the hosts: seconds after the restart they lose the ball near the attacking box, and leave far too much space for the Bavarians to attack. Gomez leads the break before spreading wide to Muller, who returns the ball to the unmarked Gomez. After the striker's initial volley is saved by Ulreich, Gomez taps home the rebound.
AND THE SECOND HALF BEGINS! This time Stuttgart kick off.
HALF-TIME! Ibisevic had the first chance of the game, and will be kicking himself for not doing better. Bayern recovered from a not-so-strong start, and Schweinsteiger's substitution, quite well as Ribery and Kroos have fun the show thus far. I'll be back in 15 minutes to keep you up-to-date on all the action...
45' + 2'
Kroooooooos again from distance! Another strong shot, but another fine save by Ulreich, who just manages to put the ball around the post!
Yellow Card Julian Schieber
Schieber is next to go into the book following a late tackle on Rafinha. Two minutes to be added...
What started as an even game has turned decidedly in Bayern's favour since the opener. The last quarter hour has been completely one-sided.
Oooh, Boulahrouz makes another timely intervention. Alaba finds Ribery who plays a clever ball towards Gomez, but the Dutch defender slides to intercept.
Oh dear. Following a botched free kick at the other end, Bayern break forward. Muliler has a go from distance, but slices the ball out almost for a throw-in. Dreadful attempt.
MISTAKE BY BOATENG! But it goes unpunished! The centre-back fires a clearance off Cacau's arm, but play continues as the striker had no chance of evading the ball. Cacau plays the ball wide to Schieber, but the attacker is not ready for the ball, which rolls out for a goal kick.
Ribery again, but this time Tasci is able to knock the Frenchman's shot out for a corner. Beautiful passing from the visitors on the counter-attack as Kroos plays a dummy and Gomez slips in to Ribery, who makes enough space to shoot but has his effort stopped before threatening Ulreich's goal.
Rafinha is not quite clean enough in his challenge on Gentner, resulting in a free kick for the hosts slightly inside their attacking half.
Goal Franck Ribéry
TOOOOORRRRRIBERY! How simple it looks! Kroos plays wide to Muller, who passes back to Rafinha and receives a return pass having run clear of Molinaro on the right wing. The Germany international then plays a low cross to Ribery , who is alone in the centre and slots home. 1-0 to Bayern!
Quite an exchange following the booking - Badstuber really took exception to the foul, and Cacau came over to defend his team-mate
Yellow Card Vedad Ibisevic
Ibisevic is the first to be booked. The Bosnia and Herzegovina international collides with Holger Badstuber, who goes to ground clutching his head.
Next chance for Gomez as he has a chance to head on goal, but this time the striker is at fault for an underwhelming miss.
GOMEZ! Oh, blocked! A glorious exchange of passes as Ribery slips in for Kroos, who cuts back to the striker. Boulahrouz comes across and makes a fantastic last-ditch challenge to deny the striker, however.
KROOS AGAIN! Another bullet of a shot from distance rises as it flies narrowly over the bar...
KROOS HITS THE BAR! Oh, what a strike! And what a save by Ulreich! The youngster drills an attempt from long range and the goalkeeper gets just enough of his hand to it to send the ball careening off the bar and out for a corner.
No tactical changes from Bayern, as Alaba has taken on a holding midfield role alongside Luiz Gustavo. Still not very much action just yet
Sure enough, Alaba comes on for Schweinsteiger, who is visibly disappointed to have been forced off.
Schweinsteiger is still struggling, and looks likely to come off. Alaba is warming up just in case.
IBISEVIC! Oh, what a chance! The new signing has a free header from close range, but is bumped from behind by Schweinsteiger, which is just enough to force him to send the shot wide.
First chance for Gomez! Ribery plays a lovely cross towards the centre forward, whose flicks over his head but into Ulreich's hands. A very difficult shot to convert, as Gomez had made a diagonal run perpendicular to the direction of his shot.
Schweinsteiger is back! He had limped off the pitch and appeared to be on his way to an early shower, but now is back on and running. What a fighter!
Oh dear! Niedermeier plays a pass but seems to slip at the same time, and his momentum carries him into Schweinsteiger's ankle! The Bayern man is down and looks to be in some considerable pain!
Molinaro, who was sent off when these teams last met, is whistled for an early foul against Schweinsteiger. The left-back had better be careful this time around...
It's been a slow start thus far. Ribery moments ago danced into the left side of the box, but it proved to be a cul-de-sac, as the Frenchman was met with a wall of defenders.
AND THE MATCH BEGINS! Bayern kick off, and the back four exchange a few passes between one another before Rafinha's ball forward is intercepted.
The players are out on the pitch now exchanging pleasantries...
Bayern (4-2-3-1): Neuer - Rafinha, Boateng, Badstuber, Lahm - Gustavo, Schweinsteiger - Muller, Kroos, Ribery - Gomez
Stuttgart (4-4-2): Ulreich - Boulahrouz, Tasci, Niedermeier, Molinaro - Okazaki, Kvist, Gentner, Schieber - Cacau, Ibisevic
The starting line-ups are in, and for Bayern, Jupp Heynckes has made the bold decision to drop Arjen Robben from his side.
