A great game in the Bundesliga has finished with Bayern taking all the points. My name is Tom Webber and it has been a pleasure to guide you through this afternoon's action. Make sure to keep with Goal.com for all the post-match news and analysis. Have a great evening!
After taking an early lead Stuttgart were pegged back by Gomez's equaliser and then lost Molinaro for a second booking with 30 minutes gone. The hosts searched relentlessly for a leveller and put in a good shift with just ten men but it was not to be.
It's all over! Bayern will be top of the league over Christmas! Gomez could have had a hat-trick against his former club but his two goals were enough to take all the points.
90' + 1'
Yellow Card Georg Niedermeier
Harnik almost gets on the end of Pogrebnyak's flick-on but Van Buyten heads it away.
Quick free kick taken in their own half by Stuttgart. They lose the ball and Niedermeier puts an unnecessarily dangerous tackle in on Tymoschuk and gets a booking for it.
There is to be three minutes of added time. Stuttgart are really pushing for the equaliser but the referee once again gives the free kick to Bayern when it arguably should have gone the other way.
Stuttgart putting on some pressure but once again the ball in the box is claimed by Neuer. A good ball to Pogrebnyak could be all they need.
Yellow Card Mario Gomez
A disappointing ball is put in and Neuer comes out to claim it unchallenged.
Gomez brings down Gebhart and Stuttgart have a great free kick available.
Not much going on in terms of chances here. Bayern look like they are just going to play out the game and secure the lead they have.
Yellow Card Rafinha
Die Roten have failed to put the game to bed and as Stuttgart begin to search for an equaliser it could go one of two ways. Will the hosts get the equaliser or will Bayern take advantage by countering?
CACAU ALMOST LEVELS IT!! Van Buyten puts a shocking head on the ball as he tries to reach Neuer. Cacau chases and gets a foot onto the ball before Neuer reaches it. It loops narrowly over the bar and it's a real let off for the leaders.
SO CLOSE!! From the resultant corner the ball takes a couple of nicks but Pogrebnyak fails to make the final connection and steer it in. They are still one behind but look a different side.
Pogrebnyak tries to bulldoze through the defence and wins a corner in the process. They substitutes have put some much needed impetus into Stuttgart.
Robben makes a strong connection with the ball and sends a dipping volley at goal. It just does not quite fall for him and it goes over the bar.
Great to see Labbadia making such changes and it may set up a fantastic final twenty minutes!
Yellow Card Holger Badstuber
Bruno Labbadia looks set to make some attacking changes now. He has nothing to lose so credit to the Stuttgart manager. Pogrebnyak and Cacau look to be getting ready to come on
Lahm tries to feed Gomez with a cheeky dinked pass into the area but the ball runs out of play. Stuttgart counter in numbers after and are exposed on the break. Fortunately for them Gomez's shot hits Maza and does not test Ulreich in goal.
Stuttgart are really being hemmed in by Bayern. They aren't seeing any of the ball and when they do they cannot commit in numbers. Gomez goes through on goal but is called offside.
Well it came a bit earlier than expected but Bayern have the lead. It will be asking a lot of the hosts to get back into this but the crowd has not given up on their team and continue with their almighty support.
Assist Philipp Lahm
Goal Mario Gomez
THERE IT IS!!! 2-1!!! Gomez scores his second against his former club. Stuttgart get far too narrow and Lahm finds space in the defensive line and is found by Kroos. Lahm cuts the ball back and Gomez stretches to stab the ball into the far corner past Ulreich.
Bayern once again keeping hold of the ball very well. Lahm is looking to get in behind Boka down the left as the Ivorian seems to be straying out of position.
ULREICH SAVES AGAIN!! A nice passing move ends with Ribery teeing up Kroos who crackied a shot at goal from 20 metres. Ulreich dived to his right and got a strong hand on the ball.
Lahm drives in from wide on the left and scurries along the edge of the 18-yard-box and slips a great pass but no one is on the end of it.
Gebhart has moved to left back to cover the dismissed Molinaro. As an attacking player he may find it hard to deal with Robben and Rafinha and that looks like where they will emphasise their attacks.
You would expect Bayern to go for the full three points and extend their lead at the top of the Bundesliga. Stuttgart face an extremely difficult 45 against the Bavarian club.
We're off at the Mercedes-Benz Arena!
We're back and the players are getting ready to come out on pitch. Kick-off is just a few moments away. Can the ten men of Stuttgart hold on to the point? Will Bayern go for the kill early in the second half? A great 45 minutes of football is sure to follow!
Now's the time to go grab a hot drink or wolf down your Sunday roast (like me!). I'll be back in ten minutes for the second half. Send your comments to @thwebber on twitter!
It's half time at the Mercedes-Benz Arena and after a frenetic start that saw both Gentner and Gomez get on the score sheet, the game settled down. Molinaro was sent off after half an hour but Stuttgart have played well with just the ten men.
Well that's a disappointment. It's taken short and Bayern take a slow build-up that ends with Van Buyten eventually heading wide.
Almost into stoppage time and Hajnal gives away a needless free kick as he clips Muller. Bayern have one more chance before half time.
Bayern have floated a good few diagonal balls in towards Gomez but Ulreich is doing well to come out and gather the ball comfortably.
Stuttgart are giving a good account of themselves with ten men. Bayern have lost that attacking urgency they began with and now look like they could be vulnerable to a counter. A goal before half time would make it very interesting.
A searching cross-field ball finds Boka streaming forward down the right. He takes a touch and looks to go past Lahm but he runs it out of play and the momentum is lost.
Bayern have taken to Molinaro's dismissal by trying to control possession even more. When they are getting the ball Stuttgart are driving straight for goal. Gebhart goes close with a spectacular volley from just outside the 18-yard box.
Bayern will likely take their time now and try to wear their opponents out. Stuttgart looked extremely vulnerable down the left and clearly the combination of Rafinha and Robben was too much for Molinaro to handle. Shame to see so early in the game but he had had his warning.
Yellow/Red Cristian Molinaro
MOLINARO SEES RED!!! He goes through the back of Robben and after a bit of theatrics the referee brandishes a red card. He won the ball but clearly the tackle from behind upset the referee.
Yellow Card Arthur Boka
Van Buyten takes it and slams it into the wall. You have to think someone else should have taken that.
Boka gets booked for a trip on Ribery in an extremely dangerous position.
Yellow Card Thomas Müller
GREAT SAVE FROM ULREICH!! Gomez chases the ball and cuts it back to Muller, alone in the area. He swivels beautifully before taking a shot. It deflects of Kvist but Ulreich still manages to get a hand on it and the danger is eventually cleared.
Yellow Card Cristian Molinaro
After a frenetic start to the game Bayern are beginning to slow the tempo. Stuttgart are dropping into a 4-5-1 when without possession in an attempt to smother the play and pick apart the visitors' patient build-up. Get in touch and let us know your thought. @thwebber on twitter!
Great work down the right hand flank by Robben and Rafinha, they are combining superbly. The Dutchman clipped a pass in to Muller who just about got the ball out his feet at the by line to dink it to Gomez. It was just behind the striker and he couldn't head into the empty net.
Bayern are trying to settle down into a solid passing rhythm now. They are doing well to work the ball up the pitch despite the hosts staying disciplined and compact. They've got a corner but it's cleared by Gentner.
Goal Mario Gomez
GOOOOOOOOOMEZZZZ!!! Superb finish by the German international. Rafinha breaks down the right and puts a great ball into the box. Gomez beats Tasci to the ball and pokes it in past Ulreich to level the game.
Yellow Card Christian Gentner
The game has shown no signs of letting up with both teams looking extremely urgent on the ball and going straight for goal. Goal scorer Gentner has just been booked.
ALMOST IN!!! Robben whips in a great set-piece that bends towards the back post. It takes a deflection which takes it away from Muller and behind for a goal kick. Electric start here.
Assist Martin Harnik
Goal Christian Gentner
GOOOOAAAAALLLL!! Stuttgart go straight up the end with Molinaro driving down the left. He finds Harnik pulling away at the back post and the Austrian nods it down and back for Gentner who slams the ball into the back of the net!
HE'S MISSED AN OPEN GOAL!!! Robben does superbly to round Ulreich but opts not too shoot from an acute angle. He lays the ball on a plate for Gomez but the defender does enough to put him off and he doesn't even make contact with the ball. Shocking!
CLOSE!! Robben's low corner is met by Van Buyten. He flicks his foot at the ball but cannot squeeze it in at the near post. Dangerous signs early on and Stuttgart will have to watch the big centre back in future set-piece situations.
The two sides are just feeling each other out at the moment. Bayern are enjoying the lion's share of possession in the early stages.
We're underway here in Stuttgart!
And now for the visitors. Neuer; Rafinha, Van Buyten, Bastuber, Lahm; Kroos, Tymoshchuk; Robben, Muller, Ribery; Gomez. Subs: Butt, Boateng, Contento, Luiz Gustavo, Pranjic, Alaba, Olic.
Here's how the hosts line-up Stuttgart: Ulreich; Boka, Tasci, Maza, Molinaro; Gentner, Kvist; Harnik, Hajnal, Gebhart; Schieber. Subs: Weis, Niedermeier, Kuzmanovic, Traore, Okazaki, Cacau, Pogrebnyak.
