Nigel Adkins may feel the writing is on the wall after chances were missed in the first half and ultimately proved their undoing. Swansea worked hard with Ki in particular outstanding. Try as they might Southampton they couldn't go ahead after the equaliser. A cross between a goal keeping and defensive error cost them dear but how many more times can that be said regarding the South Coast club this season.
90' + 5'
Full time 1-1.
90' + 1'
Ki has been outstanding for Swansea today. Hard worker with vital challenges. Doesn't deserve to lose.
The game has turned scrappy as we approach the three minutes of added on time.

Michu running down the left hand side of the box delivers towards the centre of the area but Southampton clear just as it looked like Swansea would go 2-1 up.
Jonathan De Guzmán
Lallana proving trouble in the box again and goes down from the challenge by the Swansea defender. Referee rules no penalty.
Southampton piling on the pressure once more. Poor corner misses everybody and out for a throw. Adkins looking nervous on the touch line.

Goal Nathan Dyer
GOAL: Nathan Dyer takes the ball off of Yoshida. Runs into the box, shot across the keeper and hits the post and in. A goal against his former club to level the scores at 1-1.
Swansea are claiming some more possession since the goal without threatening. Michu is trying to make thing happen from deep but is struggling to have his usual impact.
Despite having slightly less possession than their hosts Southampton have been dominant in this game. Routledge had that one chance earlier in the second half but Swansea need to step things up if they want to come away from the south coast with something other than a loss.
Assist Rickie Lambert
Goal Morgan Schneiderlin
GOAL: Long ball aimed in towards Lambert in the box. The Saints striker nodds down to the in coming Schneiderlln who puts Southampton one up. 1-0
Williams challenges Lallana in the box but the midfielder is booked. No penalty.
Yellow Card Adam Lallana
The ball is bouncing around in the area until Ramirez gets a shot away on the turn. He doesn't connect properly. Southampton on top.
The ball ends up seemingly at the feet of Rickie Lambert after a Morgan Schneiderlen flick until Ki makes a last ditch challenge to send the ball out for a corner.
Wayne Routledge misses a glorious chance from the edge of the box. Pablo runs down the right and delivers to Routledge who is running onto the ball with his right foot. He shoots first time and the ball is over the bar. Closest we have come here.
Angel Rangel shoots from just over 20 yards out after a good spell of play from Ki running at the Saints defence. Swansea win a corner but comes to nothing.
Tepid start to the second half. Adam Lallana has a long range free kick comfortable collected by Tremmel in the Swansea goal.
The teams are out for the second half and underway in what could be a vital 45 minutes for Southampton especially. Wouldn't rule Swansea out in this second half. Very capable team.
Very impressed by Southampton going forward with Gaston Ramirez already proving that he will be a huge asset for the Saints. Everything that has been good has come through him or Lallana. More of the same from the Saints for the second 45 is needed.
Half time at St Mary's where the promise of goals has been lacking but positive signs for the Saints although Swansea have been solid without much attacking intent.
Rangel wins the ball from Lallana wide right. He runs towards the Southampton area, delivers a cross but the Swansea attack is cleared for a corner.
Adam Lallana from wide left cuts onto his right foot and takes a shot towards the Swansea back post. Goes just over but a good effort.
Lambert runs through the centre of the pitch and passes out wide to Ramirez. It takes a deflection but the Uruguayan gains control, delivers a cross, blocked, corner.
Lallana goes down by a challenge in the Swansea box. No penalty given. Made the most of it truth be told.
Yellow Card Ashley Williams
Ramirez takes the set-piece himself, but instead of shooting deceptively clips it to Jose Fonte at the back-post, who pulls away from his man but sees his effort blocked.
Yellow Card Morgan Schneiderlin
Ashley Williams takes out Ramirez as he breaks forward, booked.
Two corners come to nothing at Southampton. That promise of goals is not looking too promising now.
Both teams struggling to hold on to possession at St Mary's
Gaston Ramirez wins the ball on the edge of the box from a Lambert knock down. De Guzman loses possession, shot goes wide but looking very good.
Swansea keeping the ball well at St Mary's in the middle third of the pitch

Ramirez is dropping deep behind Lambert. Trying to get on the ball
Half chance at St Mary's where Southampton are looking promising. Ramirez and Puncheon linking up well but couldn't find the final ball to Rickie Lambert
Southampton push forward with Puncheon and Ramirez looking confident on the break
All square at Southampton so far with both teams trying to find each other out. 0-0.
We're off at Southampton - looking forward to this!
Gaston Ramirez is expected to make an impact today but the Saints will have to look out for Michu in a tough home game for Southampton.
Luke Shaw starts at left back for Southampton this afternoon and becomes the youngest Southampton player in the Premier League to do so.
Nigel Adkins is the bookies favourite to be the first manager to leave his post this season and the record previously stated regarding goals conceded is partly to blame for that. He could be seen as being the victim of his own success after two promotions back to back.
Saints' 28 goals conceded so far this season is an all time joint-high for the top flight, while they have leaked 50 goals in a current run of 19 Premier League games without a clean sheet (though several of those were a number of years ago). Furthermore, when played on the south coast this league fixture has never ended as a 0-0 draw and there have been a quite astounding 100 goals scored in 29 meetings between the pair.
Hi everyone my name is Mark Young and I will be covering Southampton Vs Swansea for you today in a game that promises goals and slick passing. Both teams are known for their attacking play with defending generally leaving much to be desired.
