LAST MEETING

October 8, 2005: Italy 1-0 Slovenia

The Groningen striker is carrying an injury at the moment and might not be fully fit for the encounter with the Italians. The 22-year-old has netted three goals in the campaign already and looks to be a threat to the Azzurri's back line even if he is not at 100 per cent right now.

A. Cassano

Position: Attacker

Italy coach Cesare Prandelli will count on the 'Bad Boy from Bari' to provide the creativity for the Azzurri in attack. Cassano can also find the net as he leads the team in scoring with two goals in the current campaign and will likely team up with old strike partner Giampaolo Pazzini on Friday.

Editor's Prediction

Italy are undefeated in the qualifying campaign and will look to pull away from the Slovenians with a win on Friday. The Azzurri didn't exactly impress in their last road qualifier though as they were held to a scoreless draw against Northern Ireland and you can expect more of the same in Ljubljana.
