Made some top notch saves early on to keep his side in the game. Bailed out his defence on a number of occasions.
Struggled with the pace and shiftiness of Shaqiri, as well as the overlapping runs from Lahm. A bit fortunate in scoring the equalizer, but it came as a result of his determination.
Missed a glorious opportunity to pull Schalke level in the first half with Neuer 40 yards out of his goal, but missed the target. Eager to get forward, but did not do much when there.
Completely outclassed by Lewandowski, who got inside of the defender time and time again. Poor marking led to the opening goal. Improved in the second half.
Overwhelmed in midfield, undone by Bayern's smooth passing attack. Left injured before half time.
Could not track the movement of Muller and Gotze. Caught ball watching on several occasions which led to him being out of position more often than not.
A bit invisible in attack. His distribution was good, but did not do much else on the ball. Could not stamp his authority on the match.
Uncharacteristically a weak link in attack. A bit wasteful in possession. Saw a goo amount of the ball but in the second half, but failed to pick out his teammates.
Defensive support was desperately needed early on, but not provided by Hoger. A bit reckless with his tackling. Grew more influential as the match went on, but was still shaky defensively.
Really poor in the first half, but came to life after the break. His magnificent free kick set up Howedes' equalizing goal.
A lovely pull back set up the opening goal but was very wasteful. Allowed Boateng to get back and end his chance and then failed to pick out Meyer in an attack.
Command of his area was typically sound, however, a poor clearance nearly let Schalke tie it in the first half as he was caught more than 40 yards out of his goal. Not much he could do about the Howedes equalizer.
Spent a lot of time on the ball and posed a real threat to Schalke. Final ball or touch often let him down at the vital moment, however.
Typical strong performance. Send some lovely balls forward and made some encouraging runs down the flank. Defensive work was also close to flawless.
Defensive work was great. Dealt well with the Schalke attack, although they did not pose the greatest threat.
Never put a foot wrong at the back. His strength was too much for Schalke to deal with. A fantastic recovery on Choupo-Moting broke up a clear breakaway.
Did everything asked of him, causing Howedes some trouble with his pace, while tracking back well to contribute in defence.
Exceeded expectations in his debut, after joining the team just two days ago. Looked to fit in nicely with his new teammates. Unlucky to see his goal line clearance hit off Howedes, directly leading to the equalizer.
Never managed to make his presence felt. Got on the end of a Lahm pass in the first 10 minutes, but was denied by a great save by Fahrmann. Although a better shot may have resulted in a goal. Subbed off before the hour mark.
Passing was crisp and tidy. Never shied away from a tackle in midfield. Magnificent link-up with Lewandowski set up the lone Bayern goal.
Made some nice runs off the ball, but faded as the match went on. Denied an early goal by a world class save.
Scored the opener and caused Schalke all sorts of problems defensively. Held the ball up well and passed it around nicely. Service faded a bit as the match went on but he still managed to make his presence felt.
