Made one good save from Messi in the second half, but was unable to prevent any of the goals as he was left woefully exposed by his defence.
Failed to track Messi for the opener and was often out of position as the Catalans were given time and space to attack at will.
Looked uncomfortable in an ultra-defensive Santos line-up which never allowed them to really get off the back foot until it was too late. Made some brave tackles but was overworked and unprotected by a non-existent midfield in the first half.
An impressive talent, but the right-back was restricted as Santos were forced onto the back foot and looked to be in discomfort as he was replaced by Elano on 31 minutes.
Unable to get forward as he likes to on the left flank and was caused all sorts of problems by Messi and Alves on his side of the pitch.
Allowed Barca's attackers far too much time and space and was caught out of position time and again on an evening he will wish to forget. Did make one key block from Messi.
Hardly saw the ball in the first half but was better as Santos improved after the break. Set up Borges for one chance and linked up well with Neymar on occasions. Spent most of his time chasing back, though.
Failed to provide adequate protection to his defence, giving Xavi and Thiago far too much space to roam forward and damage Santos.
Began on the left of midfield but spent most of his time chasing Dani Alves as the Barca full-back dominated down that flank. Hardly saw the ball in an attacking sense.
A decent outlet on the right for Santos but was largely isolated in the first half. Did test Valdes with one shot, though. In the second half he found himself clear but hit straight at the Catalan keeper.
Barely touched the ball in the first half and was never in any duel with Messi for that reason. His pace looked as if it may cause danger at times, but when he did go clear he couldn't beat Valdes. Sad at the end and with much still to learn.
Made one decent stop from Borges in the first half. Saved comfortably from the same player early in the second half and then kept out a Neymar effort with his legs shortly afterwards as he stood tall. Otherwise he was largely unoccupied but kept his concentration and was there when Barca needed him.
Like an express train down the right-hand side as he tormented his compatriots with some energetic bursts from the full-back position. Set up the second for Xavi, the third for Cesc - via a deflection - and should have made it 4-0 after the break when he was off target with an easy header. Also hit the post late on.
Booked for a foul on Neymar after he himself had erred with a pass in the first half. Generally comfortable and operated as an extra midfielder at times. Replaced by Mascherano after 56 minutes.
Struggled at times with the Brazilians' pace on the counter in the second half but made one key intervention from Ganso and his positioning was excellent as usual.
Now operating back on the left with Pique and Puyol back, he looked comfortable in his habitual position and cut out one dangerous ball early in the first half. Linked up well with the midfield, too.
Started in the centre of Barca's three-man attack and played some neat triangles. Hit the post after 29 minutes when he should have scored, but did net just before half-time when he headed home easily after Alves' shot had been blocked.
Sensational control to bring the ball down and threaded through to Messi to make it 1-0 early on, before adding the second himself with a lovely finish. Then set up Cesc for what should have been a third but his team-mate hit the post. Oozed class as Barca controlled the midfield.
Made some impressive runs as he started in an advanced role on the left and linked up seamlessly with his team-mates. Came close to a goal of his own after some good link-up play with Xavi and Cesc early in the second period.
Leads a charmed life as the defensive midfielder in a team which nearly always has the ball, but he produced a good game, covering Alves' runs by dropping deeper. Unable to cope with the pace of Santos' attackers on occasions, but comfortable overall and some neat passing.
Began on the left of a midfield three and kept it simple with some neat passing. Often found himself in acres of space as Barca went forward, but wasn't able to take full advantage and was off target with one early effort.
Caused plenty of problems from the outset, put Barca ahead with a neat lobbed finish and almost added another after 25 minutes. Kept his cool later on to score a one-on-one and make it 4-0. Made some wonderful runs as well.

Unable to make any real impact as a substitute.
Came on for Danilo after 31 minutes and gave Santos more midfield presence. Showed some nice touches but spent most of his time defending and was unable to provide the creative spark needed.

Came on for Pique after 56 minutes, was given one early scare as Neymar raced clear but looked otherwise assured as Barca dominated. Made one or two impressive interventions and brought the ball out well from the back.
Came on for the last six minutes and will never forget this day for the rest of his life.
- 15 S. Kéita

Came on for the last 12 minutes to replace Thiago and set up Alves with a wonderful chested pass, but the Brazilian was unable to take advantage.
