That's it from me, but don't forget to join Goal.com for coverage of Napoli - Inter later tonight!
Milan have a date with Palermo in the semi-finals, largely thanks to Pato. They weren't at their best in the second half, but they were gritty in the closing stages and deserved their 2-1 win.
90' + 5'
Samp throw everything at the last minutes of the game, but Roma claims a late cross and the referee blows for full-time!
90' + 4'
Koman very ambitiously tries a shot from 30 yards out. Unsurprisingly, the effort flies well off target. What a waste! Less than a minute to go...
90' + 4'
It's Milan who look the likelier to score at the moment. Cassano threatens down the right, but he has two crosses blocked.
90' + 3'
Cassano! Nearly a first Milan goal for the creative attacker, who swung a right footed shot at goal from 20 yards. The ball was always moving away from the net though.
90' + 2'
Guberti crosses, but Roma claims easily. There will be few better chances than that for the hosts.
90' + 1'
Five minutes of stoppage time to be played!
Cassano wins a corner kick as the clock winds down. Milan go short, but Ibrahimovic loses possession.
There are few signs of any late drama. Milan play keep ball in the Sampdoria half for the moment.
Volta and Van Bommel have something of a disagreement in the centre of the park, but it's a free kick to Milan and the centre-back is only wasting his side's time.
Goal hero Pato is replaced by Ibrahimovic. The Swede has only missed one match completely all season.
Yepes stretches out a leg to clear another Maccarone cross. That was almost a replica of Guberti's goal.
There's little relief for the Milan rearguard at present. Sampdoria continue to dominate, though Roma's not had a great deal to do.
Samp continue to press, and excellent play from Guberti draws a cynical foul from Oddo out on the left... Milan clear the crossed free kick!
Yellow Card Massimo Oddo
Jankulovski will get around 10 minutes, having replaced Antonini.
Great close control from Guberti, who really teased Oddo, but his cross goes straight out of play.
On comes Antonio Cassano, who is greeted by whistles and derogatory chants. Robinho is the man to leave the field.
Zauri offers himself as an attacking threat for Samp down the right. His cross is between the defence and goalkeeper, but Macheda can't quite reach it either.
Another decent chance drops to Guberti at the edge of the box. Again his finish is well off target. Robinho gets some treatment during the break in play.
Koman joins the fray, replacing Mannini.
GUBERTI!! What a good chance! Oddo left Guberti free at the back post, but the attacker slashed at his left footed volley, which flew well off target.
The Rossoneri are starting to string some passes together in the Sampdoria half as the home side throw more players forward.
Oddo gets forward down the right and tries to drive a cross into the box. Sampdoria withstand the attack and launch a counter of their own.
Milan have failed to make much impression as an attacking force since the break. Samp's midfield remains on top.
Poli is replaced by Tissone. The midfielder doesn't look too pleased that he is being withdrawn.
OHH! A fierce shot from Macheda almost turns into a great pass to Maccarone, who can't turn the ball in from six yards out under pressure from Roma.
Sampdoria's pressing in the second half has been excellent. Milan look far less comfortable in possession, and the hosts are starting to control the midfield.
ROBINHO! Milan quickly break, though it concludes with Robinho driving a powerful shot at goal from a tight angle. Da Costa makes the block and the corner is wasted.
Maccarone is starting to make inroads into the Milan defence. Yepes and Papastathopoulos are having to deal with a lot of danger. Macheda has a penalty claim, but it's waved away.
Samp's play now has plenty of belief. For the time being Milan look a little shaken.
Still Samp are coming forward. Guberti has a cross fielded by Roma, but it was a dangerous ball.
Milan offer an immediate response, but some committed defending prevents them from getting a shot in on goal.
Goal Stefano Guberti
GOAL!!! It's game on 2-1!!! Maccarone did brilliantly in the right channel, teasing Papastathopoulos before delivering a superb cross to Guberti, who headed firmly home!
Play is again flowing from end-to-end, but Sampdoria are controlling the ball at the moment.
Merkel wastes a great chance! Emanuelson launches the German clear, but as he tried to round Da Costa the goalkeeper was quick to clutch the ball.
Promising signs early on for the hosts. Mannini pounces on a mistake from Papastathopoulos, but the attacker's shot is blocked by Yepes. Roma claims the resultant corner.
We're back underway!
45' + 2'
And that brings the first half to a close. Milan's makeshift side lead 2-0, and are good value for their advantage.
45' + 1'
Pato!! Nearly a hat-trick!! From 25 yards, the Brazilian attempted an ambitious shot. It fizzed just wide when a pass to Robinho might have been a better move.
Milan continue to press as we enter the final minute of the first half. Oddo's cross picks out Merkel at the back post, but the young German had little chance of steering his header on target from a difficult position and under pressure.
Yellow Card Massimo Maccarone
Maccarone is booked for giving the referee some abuse after he was refused a free kick in the centre of the park.
ROBINHO!! Excellent counter-attack from Milan! Pato's pass picks out the Brazilian's cleverly angled run, but Da Costa makes the save.
After good work moments ago, Guberti has a fresh air swipe at the ball when it drops to him 25 yards out from the resultant corner. Samp have to start again.
A free kick opportunity for Samp. Palombo hovers over it, but Yepes heads clear. Guberti picks up the loose ball and drives into the box, winning a corner when Papastathopoulos blocks at the near post.
MACCARONE! Great block from Papastathopoulos to deny the striker! It seemed Maccarone was set to volley Samp back into the game as a cross was headed in his direction, but the Greek threw himself brilliantly in front of the debutant's shot.
Samp continue to struggle. Though they have enjoyed a good deal of possession in recent minutes, they've tried to force the play a little too much.
Poor switch of play from Macheda, whose pass to Mannini goes behind the right sided player and out for a throw. That rather sums up their efforts to this point.
Milan are working harder than Samp at the moment. Though their midfield is patchwork, they're on top in the central area.
MACHEDA!! The on-loan Manchester United man is at it again, showing neat feet at the edge of the box to leave Papastathopoulos standing. From 20 yards, the young striker tugs an effort past the post.
Milan respond, but Merkel's first-time effort from the edge of the box flies well wide.
The corner is much too hard and goes out for a goal kick.
Macheda has been impressive in recent minutes. He finds a little room at the edge of the box but has his effort turned over the top by Roma.
The hosts are doing their best to get back into this game. Yepes has to look smart at the near post to clear a dangerous cross aimed towards Maccarone.
Milan are well on target for the win now. Palombo has a dig from distance in response, but the midfielder's powerful low drive zips wide.
Goal Alexandre Pato
GOAL!!! Brilliant from Milan, and it's 2-0! Great play from Emanuelson in the heart of the midfield, battling hard to win possession. The new signing slipped a pass to Pato, who beat one man before lashing high into the net!
Milan continue to make the play. They're looking dangerous.
Goal Alexandre Pato
GOAL!!! PATO HAS GIVEN MILAN THE LEAD!!! A short corner results in Merkel throwing a cross into the box. Thiago Silva's downward header is swept home by Pato, and the guests are deservedly ahead.
Sampdoria launch a promising break as Milan lose cheap possession in the heart of the field, but it breaks down too easily around the visiting box.
Oh... Palombo shows good anticipation to intercept a Robinho pass that was destined for Merkel. That was a very important interception.
Milan are starting to get on top. Pate has a shot blocked wide for a corner, which comes to naught.
GOAL!!! NO!!! OFFSIDE!!! Robinho thought he had given the visitors the lead, but his strike from Emanuelson's pass is disallowed.
Yepes clatters into an attacking player... he's back in his central defensive position after being used as a holding midfielder at the weekend.
Play has flowed from end-to-end in the early stages. This could be an exciting game if it continues like this.
And we're off!
