Eto'o has the chance to end the match, as he cuts inside from the left, past a defender but he fires directly at Curci, who blocks it with a quick reflex save.

Curci saves the day for Samp as Pandev switches play to Eto'o, who fires on sight from inside the box. Shot saved by Curci, but the loose ball stops on a dime, requiring Gastaldello to clear it away.

Eto'o accelerates down the right, looking to place it in for Stankovic who is awaiting in the middle, but he can't control it.

Sneijder hits the post! Inter's free-kick from some 35 yards out is aimed directly at goal. The Dutchman wanted to repeat the efforts of some eight minutes ago, but could only manage the bottom of the post.

Gastaldello is shown a yellow card for continuous protests with the referee. He believed Gervasoni paid a non-free to Pazzini.
Pazzini with the header, but Curci is equal to the task. Great chance for Inter to take the lead.

Palombo shoots over the bar - wasted chance for the home side. He tried to do it all on his own.
Guberti places a beautiful pass for Poli, and Lucio looks to cover all bases, not allowing the midfielder to shoot.
Maccarone steals the ball off Ranocchia near the edge of the area, but is closed down by Chivu, who helps out in defence.
Palombo's ball goes into the middle, but Ranocchia ensures it gets out just as fast, getting it away with his head.
Chivu fouls Mannini and gives away a free-kick in a dangerous position.
Similar sort of move by Palombo for Maccarone as a few minutes ago, but this time, both Lucio and Julio Cesar are aware, and close down the attempted attack.
Pandev on, Kharja off.
Palombo goes with a beautiful lofted ball over for Maccarone, as he was in space to run onto it. He had his chance to shoot with his left, but it was straight at Julio Cesar, despite Ranocchia and Lucio ultimately closing him down.
Sneijder given just enough space by the Samp defence, and he unleashes a rocket, going just wide of Curci's post. Had the 'keeper fully stretched.
Nagatomo's dangerous cross goes to the edge of the six-yard box, but Pazzini and Eto'o were nowhere near it. Good build-up play as well from the visitors.
Kharja 1-2 with Pazzini, but it only drags the midfielder wide to the right. His anger and frustration boil over as Lucchini looks to gain possession of the ball, does so and Kharja sends him to the ground.
Palombo looks to find either Mannini or Guberti on the right, but his rushed pass splits the duo down the middle.
Chivu's squaring ball can't find anyone in the middle, going all the way to the other side of the park. Chance for the visitors goes begging.
Clever Mannini has he strides forward, juggling the ball and skipping past Zanetti down the right, but the Inter captain is determined to gain possession, but can't quite, but does stop Mannini from putting in an enticing ball.
Heavy challenge by Ranocchia on Maccarone but the ref doesn't award a free-kick. The fans wanted it as well.
Dessena's header goes over the cross from the corner.
Ziegler's cross from the free-kick goes to the back-post, and Ranocchia headers out for a corner, as he sensed an opposition player behind him.
Free-kick to Sampdoria as Palombo and Zanetti collide. Palombo had possession, and was preparing to skip past him.
Long diagonal ball by Poli, looking to get in behind Nagatomo so that Ziegler could run onto it, but he doesn't let him get beaten, and even takes the ball away.
No changes have been made during the break.

Both sides start to make their way out of the dressing room.
There was only one minute of stoppage time to be played, and the ref blows his whistle to end it. Halftime here at the Marassi. 0-0. Both sides have had their chances. Come back in 15 minutes for the second half.
ETO'O with an incredible chance to give his side the lead, as the high bouncing ball falls to the striker onside and in a good position in the box, but he tries to slot it past Curci, and cannot.
Poli hits the post! Great chance for the midfielder to score, as Guberti lays a pass off, but his shot wasn't accurate enough, coming in from the left.
Eto'o blasts from outside the area, but his shot is weak, and Curci claims it with ease.
Nagatomo and Kharja combine, and the former looks to want to put a cross in for Pazzini playing against his former side, but not quite.
The move isn't over, as the ball falls to Poli, but he fires into an Inter wall.
Eto'o drags down Dossena, and the free-kick is taken quickly in the middle of the park, not wanting to waste time. Cross comes into the middle from Mannini, looking for Maccarone, supported by Ziegler, but the Swiss can't get the shot off.
Maccarone's lunging attempt at getting his foot on the ball doesn't work, as Guberti's cross was just out of his reach.
Volta and Dossena try to stop Eto'o from progressing. The striker goes to ground, and there is some pushing and shoving after the foul is given.
Zanetti tries to go on his own into the box, but as he moves forward, he begins to lose control of the ball.
Pazzini's squaring pass couldn't reach neither Kharja or Eto'o and a chance has gone begging for the visitors.
Inter are struggling to open the Samp defence up, as the jeers of the crowd grows louder. The Nerazzurri are happy to pass amongst themselves, switching from one side of the park to the other.
Ball swung in from the right, but Curci opts for the punch-away, and does so effectively.
Sneijder goes down, as Sam struggle to contain the off-ball movements of the Nerazzurri.
Ziegler's corner causes havoc in the box as both Mannini and Lucchini have chances to score, having their attempted shots blocked. Kharja seems in some sort of pain, and the 'keeper puts the ball out to ensure medical treatment can be attended to.
Guberti twists and turns his way past Nagatomo - or so he believed - as his cross is blocked out for a corner.
High ball by Chivu looking for Kharja is easily claimed by Curci, as he comes off his line to catch it will above his head.
Ziegler claims a wayward clearance, controls it with his first touch and fires on sight, but it skims off a defender and Julio Cesar is able to stop it comfortably.
Corner comes in, and it is gotten away and here come Samp quickly, looking for a counterattacking move. But it fizzles out, as a long pass beyond the half-way line finds no one.
Inter push forward, working the ball from the left to the right, allowing Nagatomo one-on-one with Ziegler. The Japanese international's attempt at a cross goes out for a corner.
Poli in space, allowed to roam as the Inter players went to cover Ziegler. He sets up, but his shot swerves wide of the mark.
Nagatomo does extremely well to hold off the streaming Ziegler, as he looks to swoop on the trickling ball.
Inter have four players waiting in the middle, waiting for Kharja to overcome his double-team and put in a cross. The former Genoa midfielder is able to overcome the duo, but opts for a low pass, not reminding anyone of a cross. Disappointing.
Maccarone was marked by Nagatomo, and despite this, was allowed to control a lobbed pass by Mannini, and fire on goal, but it was directly at Julio Cesar.
Sneijder's free-kick rises over the wall, dips at the right time, but Curci saves it, going to his right.
Eto'o spots Sneijder, who in turn looks for a 1-2 pass with Pazzini, but the Dutchman is fouled in a very dangerous position - directly in front of goal.
Lucio saw Mannini's cross rather late, and it caused the Brazilian some headaches, as his clearance went as far as Dossena, but he couldn't get a strong shot on target.
Zanetti finds Nagatomo, who in turn lays it off for Sneijder, whose first-time cross to the back post spots the rising Kharja, but he can't quite direct his header on target, pushing it wide of the left post.
Kharja claims there was a deflection off Mannini fand should have been awarded a corner. Instead, it is a goal kick, as the ref didn't see it.
Ranocchia...close, as he drifted into the box, but couldn't quite finish off Sniejder's cross from a short corner.
Inter are pressing forward and Kharja's deep cross reaches Chivu on the other side of the pitch. The Romanian puts it back, directing it at Eto'o, but the busy Gastaldello has to get it away for the Nerazzurri's first corner.
Nagatomo tries to push forward looking to hold up play for his team-mates, but Ziegler puts the Japanese international under pressure, and he earns the throw-in. Good work by the Swiss international.
Mannini ran too far, as he ran out of space and couldn't quite get his cross into the middle. Stankovic tracked him all the way.
Another corner to Samp, as they look to stay on the attack, but this time, the ball bobbles up from a deep corner, and the 'keeper claims it.
Ball swung in, and Gastaldello makes good contact with his head, but straight at Julio Cesar.
Guberti is the first to get onto the end of a loose ball, and the winger tries to take on Nagatomo. He is allowed to cross it in, but it rebounds for a corner.
Stankovic and Dossena run into one another, with the latter falling to the ground, holding his back.
Sneijder swings in the free-kick, but it was to no avail.
Nagatomo starts to stream forward, spotting Eto'o, who finds it tough to control the ball, as Gastaldello closely checks him. The striker wins the ball back, and earns a free-kick on the right.
And here we go!
Sampdoria currently sit in mid-table, too far away from any relegation or European battles. If they can claim a win this evening, they can move themselves up, aiming for a late surge and a spot in the Europa League. Inter have Scudetto and Champions League ambitions, and want to achieve them.
