Udinese cross with Pinzi, but Juan is there to head clear. It's back in and Denis scores, but it is ruled out for offside.

Roma hold onto the ball. The points seem to be heading to Trigoria. The Lupi need to be careful and not let it slip late on as Mexes clears from Denis.
Udinese believe they can get something here as they continue to attack.
OFF THE POST! Sanchez smashes a great strike on goal, but sees his effort come back off the upright. What a shot!

Roma will have to see out the game with 10 men as Mexes prepares to come on.

Free-kick Roma. It's taken quickly from Greco to Castellini who wins the corner. Totti takes it, but Denis does enough to get his head on the ball and knocks it away.
Roma in charge and in control of the affair here as Di Natale is caught offside. Ranieri is pleased with his side thus far as he gives brief instructions from the bench.
Di Natale slips through and shoots, but he fires wide.
Ohhh! Unlucky Denis who almost scores with his first touch. Good save by Julio Sergio who stands firm on the right-foot strike.

Udinese may be down, but they won't give up easily as they continue to fight.
Floro Flores feeds Di Natale who goes for the shot, but seems to have hurt his ankle on the turn.
Floro Flores with the shot on the turn, but Julio Sergio is alert on that near post.

The game is a little scrappy in this phase. Fouls and tit for tat battles.
Borriello wins the corner as Baptista comes on for Menez. The corner is whipped in, Juan hits the bar with his header, but the ref spots an infringement.

Pinzi fouls Menez with a bad tackle. Free-kick Roma. Totti's set piece is cleared.

Great save from Julio Sergio on Floro Flores. He thwarts the one-on-one against the Udinese hitman.
GOAL! Borriello doubles Roma's lead in style. He turns brilliantly on the edge of the box and brushes off the challenge from Domizzi and smashes a left-foot strike into the bottom corner for his sixth of the season.
Great save by Julio Sergio to deny Floro Flores' strike to his near post... that must have stung his hands.
Brighi wins the free-kick from Benatia. Juan takes it short, and Roma work possession.
Great run from Menez who is invited to shoot by a massive gap in the Udinese defence, but his left-foot drive is wide of the target.
Great work by Totti who wins a corner. Totti swings it in, but Handanovic reads it and comes out to make the catch with confident hands.
Udinese have come out unrestrained and with a fighting fund here as they look dangerous early on.
The second half is underway. Sanchez replaces Inler for Udinese.

And it's half time. Roma ahead at the interval thanks to Menez and his wonder strike.
There will be two minutes of injury time to be played at the end of the first half. Roma maintain possession.
Cassetti makes a run down the wing for the first time in the game, but he shouldn't have as he sends a tame cross into the arms of Handanovic to leave Borriello frustrated.
Totti is still receiving treatment on the sidelines, but he is soon back on. It's nothing serious after taking a minor knock to the head.

The game is in a stop-start phase as both teams go in rough and tumble. Totti is down after seemlingly clashing with Benatia.
Inler fouls Castellini and it's a free-kick to Roma. Totti takes it quickly... too quickly as the referee brings it back. Totti has another go... he looks for Juan on the back stick, but Handanovic clears.
Benatia is down receiving treatment after taking a knock to the face from Menez during a challenge for the ball.
Menez feeds Borriello on the left, he is forced to go wide and, with no-one in the box, he shoots, but it is high and wide. Roma are dominating now as they create chance after chance.
Great chance for Roma as Totti tries to lob Handanovic and almost succeeds. The keeper needs two attempts to make the save whilst on the back foot. Excellent effort.
Roma on the up, Menez shows confidence, perhaps a little too much as he blazes one from distance, but it flies high.
Great run by Di Natale, Julio Sergio comes out to narrow the angle on this near post and makes a good save with his foot.
Claudio Ranieri asked for excellence from Menez, and he has responded in refulgent fashion. His goal full of spectacle.

GOAL! Menez Magic gives Roma the lead. He controls beautifully to bring down the ball on the edge of the area. He dribbles past Coda and Benatia to leave them dead, and buries the ball past Handanovic with a sublime right-foot curler. Roma in front.
Again it's Juan in the thick of the action. He is presented with another great chance, but Handanovic is there again to make a good save.
Free-kick Udinese on the edge of the box. Di Natale goes for the cross, but it's poor and runs out of play.
Ohhhhhhhh! Handanovic makes a wonder save on Totti's curler, but palms the ball into Juan's path. He knocks it back towards goal, but misses by inches. Roma turn up the heat.
Ohhh! Menez fires wide! Totti plays a great one-two with Simplicio who then knocks it into the path of Menez who shoots first time from the edge of the box, but sees his effort go wide.
Great save by Julio Sergio as he saves a point-blank rifle from Floro Flores following some excellent work by Di Natale who slipped him through. Roma are looking very unstable. Excellent start by Udinese. They could be 2-0 to the good.
Di Natale with the cross for Floro Flores in the box, but Julio Sergio comes out to puch as Juan misses the clearance.
It's an open game here. Plenty of action in midfield. Di Natale cuts in from the right and hits the ball with his left, forcing the save from Julio Sergio down to his near post.
Menez goes on a mazy run and is hacked down by Domizzi... Free-kick to Roma. Totti wants this one... it's around 35 yards out... right-foot rocket is launched... ohh! Strong and violent, but over the crossbar.
What was Armero thinking as he gets it all wrong from range. He smashes a loose ball high, wide and wasted.
Udinese look the brighter of the teams thus far. De Rossi and Pizarro's absences in midfield can be felt strongly.
Ohhh! Great chance for Udinese as Domizzi hits the crossbar. He latches onto a loose ball on the far post following a corner, but he smashes his left-foot blast on the bar.
Roma show themselves forward. Totti opens a route for Borriello, but Coda does well to anticipate and clear.
And we are off. Udinese are in their black and white kit. Roma in their traditional maroon home shirt.
Roma will be looking to keep the momentum going tonight and close the gap on leaders Milan. With the Rossoneri in action later this evening Claudio Ranieri's side know only a win will do if they are keep within touching distance. Visitors Udinese will certainly have other ideas however and following a positive return to form the Zebrette have the chance to leapfrog the Lupi should they snatch a shock victory.
