M. De Sanctis
The conditions might have played a part, but he still displayed shoddy handling to allow a deflected cross to slip through his grasp for a Napoli goal.
Did a good job on Callejon in their frequent tussles out wide, and was a useful outlet in the attacking third as well.
Guilty of letting Higuain slip in behind him in the build-up to the first Napoli goal of the game as he was caught ball watching.
Decent at the back, but could have done a little more to stop Mertens' run as the substitute got forward to score Napoli's equaliser.
Drove forward well, and nearly set up a goal with a lovely through-pass to release Gervinho.
Worked very hard in the middle to help his team maintain control of the midfield, but came in too hard on occasion, picking up a yellow card for a tackle on Inler.
D. De Rossi
Defensively sound and efficient with his passing. Another solid game for the Roma vice captain.
Bossed the midfield for the hosts in both halves of the field, and capped off a fine display with a rocket of a shot to give his side a 2-0 advantage in the first half.
Though his lack of pace was telling on one or two breaks, he still was excellent on the ball, and set up Gervinho's opener with a perfect through-ball.
Showed some solid touches on the ball, but was not quite as influential as the rest of the front three. Substituted in the second half.
Menacing on the flanks for Roma once again. His Italian renaissance continued with a pair of clinical finishes, both brought about by excellent off-the-ball movement.
Should have came off his line with more conviction in the build-up to Gervinho's opener. Otherwise solid, making some athletic saves.
During the second half, there were a few attacks that he was beaten far to easily as Roma found some joy down his flank.
Never close to shutting down the man on the ball, and was beaten handily a few times.
Did not look comfortable with the movement of the opposition, and was caught out of position during the events of the winner.
Caught napping by Gervinho's run, and allowed the Ivorian in behind for the opener.
Never got going in the attacking third as he hindered more than helped a few attacks with his misplaced passing. Subbed in the second half.
Provided a lot of energy in midfield, but could not offer his team anything beyond that. Not good enough.
Remarkably average in the centre of the park, doing nothing special offensively and rarely going above the minimum to protect the defence or maintain possession.
Showed more attacking promise than anyone else in a yellow shirt as his running on the ball carved open the defence on a few occasions. Set up Higuain's goal.
Had some encouraging runs down the flanks as his willingness to stretch play kept the defence on its toes.
His determination and excellent movement forced his side's first goal, and he was a reliable and decisive focal point up front for his side.
