It's the end of a pulsating game here in Rome. The game was full of attacking intent, and some truly wonderful passages of play, but Max Allegri's side have come out on top and leave the capital with their fourth straight Serie A win. I've been Alex Mott, thank you very much for joining me.
90' + 4'
And it's all over here at the Stadio Olimpico! Roma 2-3 Milan.
90' + 2'
Milan's attempts at keep-ball are foiled by the tireless De Rossi, but his final ball is poor, and Milan clear the danger.
AND NOW ALLEGRI'S BEEN SENT OFF. It's all happening here in Rome. The referee gives Allegri his marching orders for abusing his assistant on the line.
Yellow Card Alberto Aquilani
Assist Erik Lamela
Goal Bojan Krkic
GOOOOALLLL BOJAN. GAME ON! Lamela, who's been superb since he's come on shoots from 18 yards. That shot is parried away by Abbiati, but Bojan sneaks in to score from the rebound.
NOCERINO MISSES A SITTER. The hat-trick hero from midweek manages to fire the ball wide from five yards when he was all alone inside the area. Shocking.
Van Bommel breaks up another Roma attack; this time tackling Osvaldo perfectly from behind. The Dutchman has been superb tonight.
Ibrahimovic with a hat-trick chance. Nocerino with a cross, and the Swedish international, with all the time in the world, tries a scissor kick from 10 yards. You wouldn't put it past him, but this time it goes wide.
Assist Alberto Aquilani
Goal Zlatan Ibrahimovic
GOOOAALLLL MILAN. GAME OVER. A chipped cross from Aquilani finds Ibrahimovic who scores again with a header.
Cassano again weaves some magic. A quick jink of the body, and he's away the Roma defence. The shot is well wide, but it was mightly impressive.
Cassano enters the pitch to a chorus of boos, and makes something happen with his first touch: a neat ball to Aquilani, who, from 30 yards, shoots high and wide.
Lamela is already looking dangerous. He jinks past two Milan players, finds Pizarro in space, and his cross is cleared by Abate. the subsequent corner finds Osvaldo, but the Italian international misses from six yards out!
BOATENG SENT OFF. But don't worry Milan fans, he'd already been substituted. After a few replays, it's still unclear why the Ghanian's been sent off, but it looks like he may have said something to the fourth official on his way off.
Red Card Kevin-Prince Boateng
Nocerino loses the ball by the corner flag, but it was yet another example tonight of Milan playing long diagonal balls. It's clearly something Allegri has pin-pointed, and so far it looks to be working.
Lamela, the hero from last weekend, comes on for Gago. The Romanistas will be hoping he can make the same impact as his last time out at the Olimpico.
The latest from Sicily: Catania 2-1 Napoli. Bergessio with the goal this time.
Roma have begun this second half brilliantly well. In fairness to them though, they've been equlas to Milan throughout this game, but have just struggled with the champions' aerial threat.
Yellow Card Miralem Pjanic
A great free-kick from Roma. Pjanic, in the centre of the pitch, 25 yards out, fired a wicked shot towards the top left-hand corner. Abbiati though, flung himself skyward and saved majestically.
Nesta with some expert defending. Osvaldo played a delicious through-ball to Bojan who, after going round Abbiati, passed the ball towards goal. The old man of the Milan defence though, showed all his class, and flicked the ball away for a corner.
Angel on the left-hand flank, passes inside to Pizarro, his shot is blocked, and what looks like a quick break for Milan is ended by Pjanic as he fouls Aquilani just before halfway.
Yellow Card Antonio Nocerino
Yellow Card Fernando Gago
A late challenge from Gago on Nocerino produces a yellow card. A definite lunge and a definite yellow card.
Ibrahimovic with a great chance. Bearing down on goal, he perhaps should have shot earlier, but instead fired the ball straight at Burdisso. The rebound landed at Boateng's feet, but he couldn't produce one of his Lecceesque finishes and blasts over.
No further changes for either side as Roma get us underway for the second half.
Remember to join me on Twitter for the second half. @alexjmott for all your Serie A witterisms.
Well, well, well. What a half! It was frenetic, attacking, mind-alteringly fast football, but at half-time Milan lead Roma by two goals to one. Do not go anywhere.
A Milan attack is foiled by Burdisso, who finds Pjanic in the centre circle. A one-two with Bojan later, and the Bosnian finfs himself 25 yards out, with a clear shot on goal. I think it's still rising now.
For the first time in 40 minutes, the game's finally slowed down. Roma though, are having far more off the possession; De Rossi, in particular is pulling the strings in the centre of the park.
Borini, tonight's surprise selection by Enrique is down with what looks like a knee injury. He's limping off, and in some discomfort.
A shot from outside the area by Pizarro is palmed away by Abbiati, but he gathers the ball at the second time of asking. Milan are trying desperately to calm this game down, but to no avail.
What an utterly mad couple of minutes. Burdisso's equaliser was nothing if not deserved. But then, within a matter of moments, Nesta, with a late run into the box, fires a bullet header past Stekelenburg. Don't go anywhere, this is mesmerising.
Yellow Card Mark van Bommel
Goal Alessandro Nesta
AND ANOTHER GOAL!!!!! This time for Milan. And guess what? Yes, another header. This time it's Nesta who heads home from a corner.
Assist Miralem Pjanic
Goal Nicolas Burdisso
EQUALISER!!!!!! Another Roma corner, this time not cleared by Abbiati, finds Burdisso, who heads it into the bottom right-hand corner. Well deserved.
In other news across the peninsula, Napoli against Catania is currently 1-1. Cavani (who else?) with the goal for the Southerners, whilst Marchese has equalised for the Sicilians.
Another Roma corner is cleared, this time to Robinho, who tries to lob Stekelenburg from the halfway line. Unlucky from the Brazilian.
I've just seen a replay, and it was Aquilani with the cross, and what a cross it was too. Found the Swedish international perfectly, and he, from 12 yards, headered it to the 'keeper's left expertly.
Assist Alberto Aquilani
Goal Zlatan Ibrahimovic
GOOOOOAAAALLLL MILAN! A cross from the right is met by Ibrahimovic, who headers past Stekelenburg to give Milan a 1-0 lead. Great goal.
Free-kick to Milan on the right-hand touchline. The ball's played deep, Boateng tries to get it back into the middle, but Heinze clears well.
Milan are trying to calm this game down, but Roma look like a team possessed. Enrique obviously has them fired up for this one!
Another corner to Roma, this time Perrotta pumps it deep, only for Abbiati to punch it away. The ball though, finds it way to Jose Angel, but he can do little else but fire it back into the box. Again the 'keeper comes, but this time holds on to the ball.
Aquilani fouls Pjanic in the centre-circle, but the quick free-kick is wasted by De Rossi. The intercepted ball is then lumped forward by Silva, but again a Milan forward is given offside. Another opportunity wasted.
A corner from Roma finds Burdisso, but he, under pressure, headers well wide.
It's been a really frenetic opening five minutes. Both teams are looking for that early ball forward, but this time, Ibrahimovic is adjudged to be offside.
Roma play keep-ball along the back-line. But a wonderful ball from De Rossi finds Cassetti, who shoots over from 18 yards. Well played.
Great early play from Milan ends in a corner for the rossoneri. That opportunity though is wasted, and a free-kick to Roma is given for a foul in the area.
Ibrahimovic gets the game underway for Milan in their all white strip, kicking from left-to-right.
And here they are. The teams are leaving the tunnel; the crowd are in splendid voice, and the match is literally moments away.
Don't forget, if you have anything to say regarding this evening's game, or anything about Italian football, get in touch via Twitter: @alexjmott, is the place to be.
Ten minutes until kick-off, and although recent form suggests this could be an easy victory for AC Milan, a quick look at recent matches between these two reveals something quite different: Roma are unbeaten in six matches against Milan at the Stadio Olimpico, and have only lost once in ten matches.
And the Milan starting XI: Abbiati; Silva, Nesta, Zambrotta, Abate; Van Bommel, Nocerino, Aquilani, Boateng; Robinho, Ibrahimovic.
15 minutes prior to kick-off, and the teams have been announced. Roma: Stekelenburg; Heinze, Burdisso, Angel, Cassetti; De Rossi, Pjanic, Gago, Perrotta; Borini, Osvaldo.
Along with Cagliari, Roma are Serie A's lowest scorers currently sitting in the top half of the table, having only scored a paltry nine goals in eight games. AC Milan however are the highest scorers in Italian football this season having bagged themselves 16 in eight.
Buona sera and welcome to Goal.com's live coverage of Roma versus AC Milan at the Stadio Olimpico. It looks set to be a stunning evening of Italian football tonight: the derby d'Italia is of course the main attraction, but this match-up between Luis Enrique's stuttering Roma and a free-scoring Milan side looks just as appetising. As always, we want you to get involved, so if you have any thoughts on the match as they unfold, contact me, Alex Mott, via Twitter @alexjmott.
