FULL-TIME: Rennes 0-2 PSG.
90' + 3'
GOAL! Zlatan Ibrahimovic makes it 2-0 after a superb break . Beckham on the overlap, dinks it towards Ibrahimovic, who heads into an open goal. GAME OVER.
90' + 2'
Half-chance for Rennes as time almost runs out. Erding pings a beautiful ball forward towards Feret, who is beaten to it by Sirigu. Good goalkeeping.
90' + 1'
THREE ADDED MINUTES signalled by the fourth official.
Penalty shouts from PSG as Maxwell appears to handle a speculative Pitroipa shot. Referee waves play on. Into additional time at Stade de la Route de Lorient.
And it strikes the wall, and goes out for a throw-in, rather predictably. Minutes remaining here in Brittany.
Mavinga wins a tussle with Van der Wiel, and drifts in a cross from the left which is blocked by Sakho before Pajot goes down just outside the penalty area. 23 metres out, free-kick for Rennes. Feret it is....
KANA-BIYIK! The defender has been quiet all afternoon, and unable to connect with Danze's header from a corner. Directs his effort wide of Sirigu's goal.
Moment for Rennes! Superb delivery from Sane allows Feret and Erding to have shots, which are hurriedly blocked by a shell-shocked Parisian defence. They still offer a threat, if their finishing was on point.
Desperately poor from Konradsen who overhits a simple pass towards Sane on the wing. PSG set to see this one out, I reckon. It would put them clear of Marseille by seven.
Nine minutes left for Rennes to get something back out of this encounter. They've been average in this half so far, and distinctly second best as the referee awards Beckham a free-kick after being tripped by Pitroipa.
Yellow CardGregory van der Wiel
ERDING! Chance goes begging, again! The Turkey international laches onto a short pass from Feret, turns, and strikes horribly wide of Sirigu's goal.
Yellow CardClément Chantôme
Van der Wiel compounds another miserable afternoon with a poor challenge on Pitroipa. Yellow card dished out by referee Said Ennijmi.
Substitution for Rennes; Abdoulaye Sane on for the ineffectual Cheick Diarra.
Menez's stunning individual effort saw him run nine seconds, inside his own half, beating five defenders and the goalkeeper. Superb stuff.
Substitution: Jeremy Menez off for Javier Pastore for the final 15 minutes. His goal is all that separates the two teams.
Feret, Konradsen, Mavinga and Diallo make a powerful quartet as they combine possession, but again PSG hurry them forward and reclaim the ball off the goalkeeper. No cohesion.
Ancelotti in deep discussion with his number two Paul Clement as we enter the final quarter of the match. Free-kick to Rennes after Lavezzi caught offside.
Glorious football from Rennes as Konradsen sets through Feret, whose backheel allows Diallo to advance, but Camara and Sakho at the ready to nullify the threat.
All Rennes at the moment, as they seek the equaliser. Superb cross in from Feret on the wing, and it's Jeremy Menez who almost turns in off his own goal but clears for a throw-in. Superb stuff.
Ancelotti furious as PSG struggle at the back, Erding unable to connect with the corner as it drifts over him, with the visitors currently being made to work for their lead.
DIALLO! What a chance. Sirigu flaps at the free-kick, and the ball twice, before the defenders hurriedly get the ball away at the second attempt. Diallo lurking in the penalty box too. Corner to Rennes.
Mavinga down after a tackle from Van der Wiel, who again, hasn't been setting the world alight with his performances. A free-kick for the hosts, in a decent position.
Just over 20 minutes to go here in Brittany, as PSG aim to warm up for Barcelona with a win that takes them seven points clear in Ligue 1. Currently, they're on track to meet that target, but it is by no means a foregone conclusion.
Diarra, (Alou that is) looked noticeably surprised at being hurled off. Meanwhile, it's Ezequiel Lavezzi on for Kevin Gameiro, the latter enjoying a productive hour or so.
DOUBLE substitution from Rennes - Mevlut Erding and Anders Konradsen on for Alou and Cheickh Diarra.
Menez causing problems on that left-wing as another ball from the middle arrives at his feet. Unable to get past T-Catherine though this time, as Maxwell joins on the overlap.
Now it's Rennes' turn to cause a few headaches at the other end. Driven by Pajot in midfield, the final ball is just too much for the striker to get a good touch on as it sails for a goal-kick.
Carlo Ancelotti readying Ezequiel Lavezzi on the touchline it seems as Diallo goes down in the box looking for a penalty. Referee waves play on, and it was the right decision.
IBRAHIMOVIC! Should've been 2-0 there. ALL PSG now at the other end, as Van der Wiel races forward, before Ibrahimovic's shot is helped on by Gameiro - before being parried away by Costil. Ibrahimovic unable to work the goalkeeper again at the second attempt.
Well, what can Rennes do to hit back? PSG needed that goal, with Marseille winning last night against Bordeaux, the lead at the top is now at four points.
GOAL! RENNES 0-1 PSG - MENEZ! What a goal, superb finish from Jeremy Menez. Inspirational even, as he races forward past five defenders, darting constantly past his opponents before finishing fantastically past Costil.
The France international beat what looks like five defenders plus the goalkeeper during that individual classic goal. Superb strike, after Clement Chantome won the ball back.
Beckham with another ball forward from deep in midfield, but once more, the knock forward is too heavy to find the strikers as Costil restarts play.
Beckham with a superb ball upfield towards Ibrahimovic, but the Swede unable to hold off John Boye, who heads the ball back to the safety of the goalkeeper.
BECKHAM! Well. That would've been a spectacular goal. The Englishman takes the corner, and spots Costil off his line as he goes for goal. Slams into the sidenetting though.
Van der Wiel advances down the right with a burst of pace which leaves Mavinga for dead. Cross too close to the goalkeeper nonetheless, as Rennes aim to assert their authority.
Worth noting that Marco Verratti was substituted at half-time for David Beckham. He may be saved tor the Barcelona trip on Wednesday, or as a punishment for his over-confidence on the ball in the first half!
MENEZ! Good chance from the ex-Roma winger, as les Parisiens continue their surge forward. They've raced out of the blocks so far in this second half. Great to see.
UNDERWAY IN THE SECOND HALF! And PSG get us going attacking from left to right, as Matuidi races forward.
45' + 3'
HALF-TIME: Stade Rennes 0-0 Paris Saint-Germain. An enjoyable first half with chances galore at either end. Join me in 15 mins for the second half.
45' + 1'
Still, Renne are advancing as Diarra holds off the ball from Camara and pings a shot well over Sirigu's bar. The defence unable to keep the ball away from their goal.
45' + 1'
PITROIPA! PSG living a dangerous life here as Pitroipa races forward and strikes a sweet ball just wide of Sirigu's left post. That would've been spectacular.
Three added minutes at the end of the first half. Beckham already hurries back into the dressing room.
SIRIGU! Oh wow. What is he on?! After a break from Rennes, with Pitroipa feeding Diallo on the far side, Camara blocks the ball and passes towards Sirigu, who for some reason, races away from goal with the ball despite four attackers pressuring him. Manages to give away the corner. Lucky to not have conceded.
On second viewing, was it a shot was it a pass towards Gameiro for a tap-in? Either way it was horrendous. Meanwhile, there's a defender down following a collision with Costil.
WHAT A CHANCE! Ibrahimovic with a howler. Oh my word, you would've but your house on him to score that. Does brilliantly to Cruyff-turn away from his marker, gets into position and his shot was too tame to trouble Costil.
Quick run-through of the PSG subs - Douchez, Armand, Beckham, Lucas Moura, Lavezzi and Jallet - which ones, if any could we be seeing in the second half?
Corner for PSG, drifted in by Menez, but dealt with at the first opportunity. Van der Wiel's crossing again proves to be below-par, as his delivery back into the box sails over everyone and out for a goal-kick,
CHANTOME! From distance, he probably was never going to score from there. Tries the spectacular, teeing up an effort when afforded the space from 40 yards out. But easy for Costil.
Getting physical out there as Rennes assert their superior strength in midfield. Pitroipa again chases the ball, from Alou Diarra but Sirigu claims possession. Good pace to this one.
Yellow CardMarco Verratti
Yellow card for Marco Verratti. Awful tacking as he puts his studs in on Diallo as Rennes aimed for a counter attack. Referee has no second thoughts about that one.
Almost a chance for PSG there too from the corner, following a poor goalkeeping mistake from Benoit Costil. Nevertheless, Rennes get the ball away.
Yellow CardJohn Boye
Gameiro! Another decent chance, this time at the opposite end as the ball drifts in to the former Lorient star, who rises highest, but unable to connect his header. Deflected behind for a corner. Almost an own goal from Rennes that was too!
DIALLO! Good chance, as he races forward under pressure from Chantome, with the shot rising just over Sirigu's bar. Good movement, but should've done better with the effort.
Rennes have not won a league game since mid-February following the season-ending injury to Romain Alessandrini, who at the time just broke into the France side. They have the Coupe de la Ligue final in two weeks against Saint-Etienne to look forward to, but their form has seen them drop from fourth to tenth.
Diallo goes down, before the referee waves play on. Appears that he was unfairly challenged by Camara, before PSG sportingly put the ball out. Meanwhile, Lavezzi and Pastore share a joke on the bench!
PSG very comfortable on the ball, stark contrast to Renne who are bombing forward at every opportunity, as they seek to break the deadlock. Ancelotti's side with 57% possession at the moment.
Verratti with a wayward pass towards Ibrahimovic, which flies well wide of its intended target. Very uncharacteristic from the young Italian.
Feret with another dangerous ball, but the Parisian side are able to deal with the aerial threats currently. Still 0-0 at Stade de la Route de Lorient.
Diallo races forward and causes problems with his physical strength. Held down by Camara, but referee rules that play should continue. Verratti meanwhile, kicks the ball away after it initially went out of play. Referee ticks him off too.
IBRAHIMOVIC! Well, it's gone well wide. Not on target, as he opts for the low and powerful shot. Strikes the ball hard, but drifts considerably wide of Costil's goal.
Free-kick to PSG right outside the box, after a handball by Pajot following Menez's delivery into the box. A great chance for Ibrahimovic this. The Swede is over it.
Diarra advances down the left and a chipped ball aims to pick out Pitroipa but the ball is slightly overhit as Sirigu hurriedly clears the ball away.
Wasn't a penalty however, as the foul took place outside of the box, but it was a clear infringement. Van der Wiel returns as Mavinga goes unpunished.
Verratti knocks a fine pass towards Van der Wiel, who is charged down by Mavinga. Screams of a penalty, but referee waves play on, before going back to deal with Van der Wiel, who requires some attention.
CHEICK DIARRA! Another chance, and another stop by Sirigu! Corner drifted in, and it's a poor deflection off Van der Wiel, who knocks it into the path of the striker, but he didn't expect it at all! The tame shot saved by Sirigu on the line.
DIALLO! What a chance. What a save by Sirigu! Should be 1-0 Rennes following a quick break from a free-kick. Four against four as Pitroipa's cross is deflected away, into the path of Diallo, whose half-volley is parried away by the goalkeeper.
DANZE! Good chance there for Rennes, but not a clean hit from the captain. Free-kick drifted in by Feret finds his team-mate at the far post, but Danze unable to get it directed at Sirigu.
Pitroipa down and in some considerable pain following a challenge from Sakho. Free-kick to Rennes, in a good position. Play is briefly delayed as Pitroipa receives medical attention.
Rennes' first shot of the game comes from a tame effort from distance from Cheickh Diarra. The Malian has displaced Mevlut Erding from the starting eleven despite having just one league goal to his name.
Chantome threads a pass towards Van der Wiel as Rennes continue to chase the ball. The visitors very comfortable, as they bide their time before penetrating the defence.
Worth noting that PSG have rested a number of key players ahead of their second-leg clash against Barcelona at Camp Nou on Wednesday. The likes of Pastore, Lavezzi, Silva, Alex, Lucas Moura all missing from the starting eleven.
Another corner to PSG, after Ibrahimovic's pinged effort blocked hurriedly by Kevin Theophile-Catherine. Delivery of the set-piece wasn't perfect, but seemed to bamboozle the Rennais rearguard.
Danze loses possession as Ibrahimovic and Menez combine to keep possession. Back to the Swede, who is battling with Boye to keep the ball in play, and PSG have won a corner.
Superb pass from Ibrahimovic into the path of Gameiro. A lovely dink of the ball with his left-foot, but the Frenchman has just strayed offside. Verratti with a nutmeg on Diallo - and yes, we noticed!
Pitropia races forward after the corner breaks down, before the Burkinabe is fouled. Rennes have another free-kick, looped in by Feret but Pitropia unable to get a clean hit on it.
Good start from PSG, who are keen to keep the ball in these early stages. Matuidi the driving force, but they've won a corner for their efforts.
UNDERWAY IN RENNES! The hosts get us started, attacking from right to left. They beat the Parisian side 2-1 in November despite having just nine men.
Pre-match formalities over, and we're set to get started here in Brittany. Zoumana Camara is the PSG captain this afternoon.
This afternoon's referee at Stade de la Route de Lorient is Said Ennijmi - don't forget to tweet in @mohammedali_93 with your views/comments. Kick-off imminent.
TEAM NEWS: Carlo Ancelotti opts to rest a number of players including Thiago Silva, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Alex. In come Camara, Sakho and Gameiro whilst Rennes make one change - Diarra in for former PSG boy Mevlut Erding.
Rennes : Costil - Danzé, Boye, Kana-Biyik, Mavinga - A. Diarra, Pajot - Pitroipa, Féret, S. Diallo - C. Diarra. Paris SG : Sirigu - Van der Wiel, Camara, Sakho, Maxwell - Chantôme, Verratti, Matuidi, Ménez - Ibrahimovic, Gameiro.
Rennes meanwhile have not won any of their last six games. Since the injury of Romaim Alessandrini in mid-February, the side have descended to 10th in the table. They do have the Coupe de la Ligue final to look forward to next week though!
With Olympique de Marseille winning last night against Bordeaux, the onus is on PSG to claim a win here today. The lead is cut to four points now, and the visitors are without a win at this stadium since the Ronaldinho days of 2002.
Paris Saint-Germain return to league duty following their mesmerising 2-2 draw with Barcelona in the Champions League quarter final on Tuesday. With the Camp Nou return looming on Wednesday, Carlo Ancelotti's side could be forgiven for wanting to get this game out of the way.
