That's all from me folks, now you have the buzz for football fever check out our live commentary on the Barcelona game. That is where I will be for the next ninety or so. Enjoy.
Game over. Los Blancos played incredible football for the first 50 minutes, Ronaldo the best on show today never wasting a pass or an attack, topping it off with an unstoppable free-kick. They top the league until Barcelona vs Real Sociedad which kicks of in just over five minutes. Zaragoza meanwhile stay rooted to the bottom of the league and need to play like they did in the last forty when they contained the attacking threat of Madrid and posed a threat themselves. They are a good enough side to find some form and once they do they could climb out of the relegation zone.
90' + 2'
Los Blancos have played keep ball for the last two minutes, and they play it well. Ends up with the substitute Morata crossing the ball which Arango cleared with an outstretched leg.
3 mins of injury time.
Ángel Di María
Mourinho has to please with his teams performance tonight. Especially Diarra, who plays a wonderful ball through for Morata. He beats Leo Franco to the ball but the ref adjudges he wouldn't have kept the ball in the ball, that one was correct. The Zaragoza 'keeper is outraged by Mortata looking for the penalty their.
Diarra again arrives late in the box to strike a shot which is deflected well by Lanzaro. Corner comes to nothing for the Spanish giants and Zaragoza will look to build again.
Cannot put a bad word against Zaragoza's workmanship in the second half. They have continuously tried to no avail thus far and los Blancos are looking like they will take top spot in La Liga, until Barcelona play at least.
Ronaldo plays the ball to the substitute Granero, but he takes too long on the ball after a poor first touch and the chance disappears. Good cross prior to that from Di Maria that created the space foe Ronaldo.
Into the final ten minutes and Zaragoza are going for that, only one man stays at the back when they have the ball. Goals in this game yet.
Woah, that man Ronaldo again. Stunning, the ball is played into his feet, he lets the ball run between his legs and returns the ball to Diarra with a delicate flick. Diarra's shot is parried away well by Leo Franco who gets up eagerly and chases down the second ball.
Yellow Card Nicolás Bertolo
Bertolo crushes Marcelo and the Brazilian is down in agony. Rightful yellow card.
Ponzio makes a great interception there. Ozil did brilliantly down the right hand side but Pnzio defends the chance brilliantly
Yellow Card Xabi Alonso
Alonso cannot complain about that one, although he wins the ball he takes Lafita with him and the yellow card is justified. The free kick is headed towards goal by Arango but Casillas does well to hold onto the ball underneath his cross bar.
Nobody wants to keep the ball all of a sudden. Both sides are unable to string more than three passes together.
Close again from los Blancos, Marcelo plays dangerously but his ball find Di Maria's feet who's first touch is sublime; pushing the ball into space allowing him to run onto it. His pull back nearly finds Benzema in the middle , but Jarosik manages to intercept.
Diogo with a wonderful sliding challenge against Benzema. Both men had to stretch their legs to make that loose ball, but the defender had more urgency and slide in to prod the ball wide. Terrific challenge.
Alonso has taken a back seat to Diarra who is spreading the ball at ease. His latest pass finds Di Maria, who has switched flanks, and he crosses to Ronaldo who tries the spectacular on the turn. He shoots over.
Diarra has a shot deflected and it seems normal service is being resumed as Zaragoza are struggling to escape their own half. Jarosik is the man to get in the way of Diarra's shot this time.
Solid block from Edmilson. The Brazilian stands up against Ronaldo who tries to shake him. The No. 7 strikes the ball against the defenders legs, and if you want to know how to defend against the Portuguese star, stay tight and do not dive in. Well played Edmilson.
Diarra though is getting into this all of a sudden and INCREDIBLE football from los Blancos. Diarra slips the ball to Ozil who plays a wonderful ball to Ronaldo, step over dummies the defender and pulls the ball back to Benzema, the Frenchmen though cannot get the ball fully under control and doesn't get a powerful shot away making the save easy for Leo Franco.
Wild shot from Di Maria. 40 yards out, Diarra does well to channel the ball out to the right-midfielder but he opts too shot and it blazes over the top.
Ozil has become quiet in this second half, saying that so has Benzema. Zaragoza need to take advantage of this sudden vulnerability from Jose Mourinho's men.
Meaty challenge from Ander there on Ronaldo right under the ref's nose. Free kick given as Madrid look to assert some control back on this game.
Took three goals for the home side to show some attacking threat, but their goal has lifted them. Sinama finds himself in his customary position and plays a shot-come-cross ball which forces a corner. The corner comes to nothing though.
Assist Nicolás Bertolo
Penalty Goal Gabi
PENALLLTYYY!! Sympathy from the ref for Zaragozaa after Carvalho appears to bring Bertolo down. Soft penalty that one. But Gabi doesn't care as he steps up and calmly slots the spot-kick home. Game on? I doubt it, but does make it a bit more enticing again. The Portuguese defender collected a yellow card for his challenge.
Yellow Card Ricardo Carvalho
Arbeloa attempts to fly their but comes crashing back to the ground after going up for a header. The Spaniard lands on his back and is in need of some treatment.
Yellow Card Maurizio Lanzaro
Ronaldo is poised and he hammers it into the wall. Yup, too close.
Benzema is fouled by Lanzaro, and the Italian should have seen red for that. He was the last man and clipped Benzema's heel as he was bearing down on goal. Bit close for Ronaldo this one I think.
Assist Xabi Alonso
Goal Ángel Di María
NUMBERR 333333!!!!! Di Maria is the goal scorer this time around and that is game over so soon after half-time. A simple long ball from Alonso is chipped over the rushing Leo Franco by Di Maria, and on his return the Argentine has a goal to his name. Wonder how many los Blancos will score tonight then.
Javier Aguirre will hope his side will show a bit more this half as an attacking threat, up until now the Real Madrid No. 1 has only been called into action once in the first half.
We are back underway at La Romareda where Zaragoza will hope they can get back into this game. Real Madrid, meanwhile, will hope to build on their two first half strike, courtesy of Ozil and Ronaldo and regain first place in the league.
45' + 1'
With few stoppages, the first half is brought a close. Madrid have dominated, having had 65% of the possession they have utterly outclassed their opponents and they should be at least three goals to the good. As it is, Zaragoza only need one goal to get back into this game and through Gabi and Sinama they may well create something. If you are as excited as I am for it you stick around for the second half in fifteen minutes.
Fantastic football from los Blancos again. Benzema turns Jarosik twice and then plays a delicate ball through for Di Maria making a late run but the ball just has too much weight on. Wonderful on the eye though.
Goal C. Ronaldo
GOOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!! The Portuguese star does it again, incredible. One, two paces and then like a rocket he hammers the ball past a stationary Leo Franco in the Zaragoza net. How does the man do it?
Free kick in a dangerous position. Ronaldo territory. Ozil goes down from Ander's challenge after a good passage of play. Ronaldo and his infamous run-up await.
Seconds later Ronaldo is causing a lot of problems in the Zaragoza defence. His first pull back is behind the onrushing Benzema. The second cut out by Diogo and after that his shot was blocked by Lanzaro for a corner.
Wonderful pushed save from Iker Casillas. The Spanish 'keeper expertly pushed away Lafita's shot on the turn. First shot on target from los Manos.
Handbags and the Gladrags, Marcelo involved with a spat with Sinama and when his team-mate Carvalho looks to calm him he continues to show his frustration.
Xabi Alonso makes spreading the ball so easy, the ex-Liverpool star finds Ozil on the right flank with a relaxed pass but the German is closed down by Arango.
Yellow Card Marcelo
Bertolo with a neat turn in the middle of the pitch finally allows him to pass the ball wide to Gabi, who had been screaming for the pass when the ball was being played out from the back; slow again from los Manos.
Yellow Card Gabi
Gabi earns himself a yellow card for a studs challenge on Benzema, catching the Frenchmen's toes. The resulting freekick is punched away by Leo Franco.
Strong challenge from Jarosik preventing Ronaldo from getting into any stride, Finnish player did well there.
Zaragoza just don't have any fluidity out there today. A chance to counter sees pass after pass executed poorly and Madrid win the ball back at ease.
Benzema denined by the covering Lanzaro. Benzema's shot had beaten Leo Franco but the defender was able to divert the ball away.
Counter attacking football at its finest, Marcelo combines with Di Maria, who finds Marcelo bursting it to the box. He is denied a spectacular goal by the last ditch challenge.
Yellow Card Arbeloa
Arbeloa, yellow carded for a poor challenge on Lafita - the only man to be troubling Real.
DIARRAAAA, just misses with a vicious strike. He cuts in from the left flank and lashes a right-footed shot just wide of the post, mighty close again for Real.
Zaragoza are in the final third but they are unable to build any pressure on the Madrid goal, something has to change if they want to separate themselves with the bottom of the table tagline.
That was mighty close. Benzema just goes a fraction too early and is offside, if he had held his run he would have been clean through.
Ronaldo is full of the flicks and tricks today and he seems to be enjoying himself out there. A wonderful one-two with Di Maria comes to nothing after the latter mis-controls the Madrid's No. 7 return.
Benzema straight down the middle after a lofted ball but he is out-muscled by the central pairing of Jarosik and Lanzaro, chance gone.
Marcelo is causing all sorts of problems on the left, getting forwward from left back he dummies Diogo and manages to find a devilish cross but Leo Franco is able to make the catch unchallenged.
Easy, Arbeloa plays a wonderful cross field ball of around 60 yards. But, wow, he is human, Cristiano Ronaldo miss controls and Zaragoza have a throw in.
Goal Mesut Özil
GOOOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!! Ozil in acres of space is found by a brilliant Marcelo through ball and the German keeps his nerve to tuck the ball beyond Leo Franco. Los Blancos take the lead with a brilliant strike.
Neat flick from Ronaldo, but the return ball doesn't get to him after a great intervention from that man Jarosik again. A long clearance up pitch allows Sinama to work forward but to no avail.
Incredible. A wonderful ball played through by the maestro Xabi Alonso but Benzema miss controls back-heeling the ball behind him when he was clean through!!!!!
Bursting run forward from Benzema down the right touch line but a crashing challenge from Jarosik see's the ball go out for a throw in with Madrid pushing.
AND IT IS OFF THE POST!!!!!!!!! Great strike from Lafita finding his way into the Madrid box and his shot across goal cannons back off of Casillas' right hand post. That wouldn't have been in the script!
Zaragoza, struggling in the league currently in 20th position will hope that victory today will see them lifted off the foot of the table. Full Line-Up: Leo Franco, Diogo, Jarosik, Paredes, Lanzaro, Gabi, Edmilson, Lafita, Ander, Bertolo, Sinama-Pongolle.
The side that Mourinho has put to the task tonight includes Di Maria, back from injury and Alvaro Arbeloa playing in defence. The full line-up is: Casillas, Arbeloa, Pepe, Ricardo Carvalho, Marcelo, Xabi Alonso, Diarra, Ronaldo, Ozil, Di Maria, Benzema
And here we are Madrid dressed all in Black have us under way, and if los Blancos secure a victory tonight then they will sit atop La Liga until Barcelona play later this evening
