Unlucky to concede four goals tonight. Pulled off some great saves in the first half, but was let down by his defence after the break.
Rock-solid before the break and atrocious in the second period. Condeded a penalty in injury time and the first two of Los Colchoneros' goals game from his zone. Partially at fault for the third goal, too.
Looked very composed and stable at the back before Aguero's second strike, when he was caught out of position. Could have done better for both Forlan's equaliser ( he was arguing with the referee in the visitors' half ) and the attack that led to the penalty for Los Colchoneros in injury time.
De La Bella
His positioning left his team exposed tonight. This was especially evident in the second half when the first two goals for Atletico Madrid came from his zone. Offered very little in attack, too.
Stunning goal from the midfielder as he delivered a great performance and did not deserve to be on the losing side. He tackled hard and showed satisfactory work rate.
Put in a couple of excellent crosses in the first half and generally looked very lively before the break, but grew frustrated in the second period as Atletico Madrid completed a full come-back.
One could hardly tell he was on the pitch until his overhead kick in the waning minutes of the game. A disappointing performance from the attack.
Battled hard in midfield and showed some good tackling. Gave much more breathing space to Tiago after the break, which is never a good thing.
Very wasteful in front of goal tonight. Could have had a hat-trick before half-time, but scored only one. Looked somewhat isolated in the second period.
Real Sociedad's best player tonight by some distance. Caused plenty of problems down the left and showed impressive dribbling and technique. Provided the assist for Joseba Llorente's opener as he yet again proved why he is followed by Europe's elite. Substituted in the second half.
Pulled off some good save to keep Real Sociedad and Antoine Griezmann in particular at bay, and there was nothing he could do for both of la Real's goals. A decent performance by the goalkeeper.
Struggled at right back against Antoine Griezmann in the first half and is partially responsible for the opener. Did not improve his game much after the break either.
The Czech is naturally comfortable both at centre-back and at right back, but looked somewhat rusty at the heart of the defence. Too slow for the first goal, Improved his game greatly after the break and provided the assist for Sergio Aguero's first.
Looked his reliable self tonight, despite just returning from injury. Could proved to be Atletico Madrid's signing of the season come July. Conceded just one foul tonight.
Offered fairly little in attack, but was solid in defence tonight. Admittedly, he was rarely troubled at the back.
José Antonio Reyes
A very good game, despite some moments in which his decision making let him down. Earned a penalty in injury time and looked dangerous whenever on the ball. Showed some good passing and technique, too.
Delivered the goods for Los Colchoneros tonight as he capped his good performance with a goal from the spot in injury time. Passed the ball well and was always dangerous on the ball.
One of his better performances for Atletico Madrid. Showed real bite in midfield, although he was a bit too aggressive at times. Showed good passing and even found time to join the attack on some rare occasions. Substituted in the second half when he began flying off the handle after a tussle with some of Real Sociedad's players.
This is the kind of performance Atleti's faithful want to see from the Portuguese. Worked hard in midfield and was inspirational going forward. Great pass in the build-up to Forlan's equaliser.
After a relatively quite first half the Uruguayan ace exploded after the break, scoring a goal and providing the assist for Aguero's second of the night. A good performance by the striker, who worked hard for his team in this game.
Totally deserves his two goals tonight. Showed incredible pace and dribbling, and his positioning was top-notch, too. An inspirational performance from the Argentina international.
- 27 Joel Robles
- 18 Álvaro Domínguez
- 14 Filipe Luis
- 2 Juan Valera
Substituted Diego Forlan in the ninetieth minute to help run down the clock. Did what was asked of him well as he defended impeccably.
Brought in for the hot-headed Mario Suarez. Did well to help his team protect their lead and showed some good passing, too.
Did not offer much in attack after replacing Sergio Aguero in the 85th minute.
