  • 90' + 6'
FULL-TIME - QPR hold on to the 1-0 lead and see the game out, despite having Taarabt sent off for a second yellow. Tottenham looked devoid of ideas and lacked the cutting edge in the final third. QPR move ever closer to Premier League safety, while Tottenham concede fourth spot to Newcastle.
  • 90' + 3'
And Zamora finds himself clear on goal, but a dodgy touch trying to cut inside allows a defender to get back and make a tackle. That could have wrapped the game up.
  • 90' + 2'
The announcement of 5 added minutes has spurred (no pun intended) the away team on as Modric hits an effort towards Kenny, but he manages to push the ball away from danger.
  • 89'
QPR seek sanctuary near the corner flag with Zamora, but the striker somehow emerges from a melee of 3 defenders and has a clear run of goal, but his driven effort is high, wide and not very pretty.
  • 87'
Ohhh and the substitute Giovani comes close. He is found inside the area by Van der vaart and the Mexican, on the turn, hits a skidding effort towards the bottom right of the goal, only for Kenny to get a strong hand to the ball. Great save.
  • 85'
A dubious free-kick is given to Spurs on the right and it doesn't go down well with the home support. QPR are crumbling here and need to steady the ship. Fast
  • 84'
    SubstitutionScott Parker Giovani dos Santos
  • 83'
The atmosphere around the ground has changed from that of optimism to a sense of unjust. Modric fires in a low effort from just outside the area which can only be parried for a corner by Kenny. A chorus of boos is directed at the corner-taker.
  • 81'
It seems as if Taarabt was given a second yellow for kicking the ball away. There's some debate as to whether the referee should have just given the player a warning rather than a sending-off.
  • 80'
It's all gone bonkers here! Gareth Bale casually (and dangerously) strolls into a home stand to collect a ball for a corner. I'm anticipating flying pigs anytime soon.
  • 79'
    Yellow Card Clint Hill
  • 78'
    Yellow/Red Adel Taarabt
  • 78'
WHAT?! Confusion here as Adel Taarabt is sent-off for no discernible reason, but I'll keep you posted. Didn't seem like anything happened. QPR down to 10, and the onus is surely now on Tottenham.
  • 77'
And Onuoha is lucky not to have picked up a second yellow card in just as many minutes after a clash with Parker. The QPR defender needs to keep his head here.
  • 76'
Home fans aren't happy as they feel Mackie is blocked off by Danny Rose from running through on goal after Zamora's beautifully weighted cross-field ball. Referee waves away the protests.
  • 75'
    Yellow Card Nedum Onuoha
  • 73'
Taarabt is proving a thorn in the side of the Spurs defence and is popping up all over the pitch. His latest effort though is tame and it is easily caught by Friedel.
  • 71'
That was a chance for Spurs! Wonderful wing-play by Bale down the right sees him beat his man and pull the ball back to Van der Vaart just inside the area. Despite falling on his stronger side, the Dutchman skews his volley wide when he should have at least made Kenny work. Still 1-0
  • 70'
    SubstitutionSamba Diakité A. Buzsaky
  • 68'
Dreadful defending by Gallas! A ball is played into the area for Zamora and, with the striker turning into space, the frenchman seems to lose all sense of direction and turns away. Luckily for the veteran defender, King is on hand to pick up the pieces and block a lashed effort.
  • 67'
A bit of handbags here as Van der Vaart is brought down but doesn't get the free-kick. Derry and Hill face up to the Tottenham protestors, but nothing doing.
  • 66'
    SubstitutionBenoit Assou-Ekotto Danny Rose
  • 64'
Spurs win a succession of corner but none of them come to anything. Harry Redknapp doesn't look happy with his side on the touchline and who can blame him? They've had enough possession but have done nothing with it.
  • 61'
Tottenham are leaving so much space in midfield for QPR to play in. Neither Parker or Modric have been able to take a grip of the game.
  • 58'
Taarabt is doing his best impression of Cristiano Ronaldo here as he pops up on the left, cuts into the centre, does about 7 step-overs but fires the ball well wide from a central position. He's been QPR's brightest spark so far.
  • 56'
Lennon's pace has been a welcome addition on Tottenham's right. However, the north London outfit look devoid of ideas in the final third, epitomised by Parker's wild effort over the bar from 25 yards out.
  • 53'
Tottenham are buliding up ahead of steam here and are creeping deeper into QPR's half. The home side look sharp on the counter though, and the brilliant hold-up play from the statuesque figure of Zamora is giving his team-mates plenty of time to take up attacking positions.
  • 50'
Slight scare as Bale limps off the field, but he quickly returns to the action
  • 47'
As in the first half, QPR are quick out of the traps. Diakite goes on a powerful run down Spur's left and prods the ball into the side-netting of Friedel's goal.
  • 47'
Aaron Lennon comes on for Sandro, who had been ineffective in the first-half. This means that Tottenham now have two genuine wingers on the field. Positive changes.
  • 46'
    SubstitutionSandro Aaron Lennon
  • 46'
QPR get the match back underway. My keyboard is still smoking from the first-half. You try typing 'Taarabt' without the 'A' key taking a beating..
  • 9'
FULL-TIME! QPR manage to hold on to the 1-0 win despite having Adel Taarabt sent-off. Tottenham on the other hand have conceded fourth spot to Newcastle. However, the Hoops deserved their win with an imperious display, and Spurs looked perilously short of ideas.
  • 45' + 4'
QPR have deserved their one goal lead, and Taarabt's goal was a peach. Questions could be asked about the free-kick which resulted in the goal, as well as the dodgy Tottenham wall. However,Spurs are growing steadily into the match and could have grabbed an equaliser through either Bale or Defoe's header.
  • 45' + 3'
The home crowd's hopeful whistles for half-time are duly granted as referee Mark Clattenburg brings the half to a close.
  • 45'
Joey Barton finds himself just inside the area and fires an effort towards goal. However, it is blocked by the flying leg of Ledley King and balloons over the crossbar. Nothing comes of the resulting corner.
  • 45'
The 'Magic Sponge' is working overtime in this game as both Assou-Ekotto and Scott Parker succumb to self-injury. They're back on their feet though.
  • 42'
    Yellow Card Adel Taarabt
  • 42'
Walker is brought down by Taarabt out on the right, just a whisker outside the area. No real shouts for a penalty from the away side though. Van der Vaart crosses it in but it is well defended by Onouha. He must have a forehead of steel as that hit him at a fair rate of knots!
  • 40'
The game has mellowed a bit here after a blazing start. Freidel is looking really shaky with his kicking, and has skewed a few clearances which have fallen straight to the opposition. He needs to be careful.
  • 37'
Spurs are starting to pick up the pace here, but are still attempting long balls into the area despite the lack of height. They need to start playing it along the floor if they have any hope of punishing QPR. Better though.
  • 34'
Defoe snatches at an opportunity about 30 yards out, but shoots roughly 5 miles wide. Barton takes a knock on his head and is given treatment.
  • 31'
It has been confirmed that the QPR free-kick that led to the goal was given for a Sandro hand-ball. Redknapp will no doubt be furious with that decision considering his player was on the floor. Tottenham haven't exactly been blessed with refereeing decisions of late.
  • 30'
Ahhh but Defoe probably should have got his effort on target there. Joey Barton slips over deep inside his own half allowing Van der Vaart to run at goal and drive in an effort. Kenny parries, but the ball falls to the head of Defoe who nods it over. QPR, and Barton in particular, get lucky.
  • 29'
Tottenham are just resorting to long-balls to the front-man now. It's just a shame that the front-man is Defoe who stands at around 5 foot.
  • 27'
Taraabt has the taste for glory here and proceeds on a powerful run. However his effort with the outside of the boot from 20 yards out is too weak to trouble Freidel.
  • 25'
Tottenham don't know what's hit them. QPR pile on the pressure and win a corner after Spurs conceed possession in their own box. On the edge.
  • 24'
    Goal Adel Taarabt
  • 24'
GOAL!!! And what a great position it proved to be! Adel Taraabt steps up for free-kick duty and beautifully curls the ball over the wall and into the bottom right corner of Friedel's net. The Spurs wall left a big gap, but take nothing away from the midfielder's brilliant effort
  • 23'
Good hold up play by taarabt sees him win a free-kick about 25 yards out. This is a great position.
  • 22'
    Yellow Card Bobby Zamora
  • 20'
Wow. Bale comes very close. He is given a free header after a Van der Vaart corner from the right finds him 6 yards out, but it is hit straight at Kenny who tips it over. One or two inches to the side and that would have been the opener
  • 19'
Spurs are seeing a lot of the ball but are not really going anywhere with it. Kyle Walker is popping up in advanced wide positions to try and spur on the attack.
  • 16'
QPR have displayed some silky passages of passing in the middle but have not yet tested Freidel.
  • 13'
It is QPR who have the bit between their teeth. Spurs seem wary and have been penned back into their own half. The away side need to pick up the tempo if they have any hope of breaking into QPR territory.
  • 10'
Mackie beats Assou-Ekotto again on the right and reaches the by-line. He puts in a driven cross which should have been easily dealt with by the Tottenham defence but they farcically concede a corner.
  • 9'
Been a fairly even opening to this game. QPR are just edging it in terms of attacking intent and the home crowd are certainly up for it.
  • 7'
Strangely, the QPR fans are now booing Assou-Ekotto's every touch. Seemed like a fair challenge.
  • 6'
Jamie Mackie has the beating of Assou-Ekotto down Spur's left-hand side and he sets Joey Barton away into the penalty area. The french left-back recovers well though and blocks the midfielders route onto goal.
  • 3'
It really has been a lively start here at Loftus Road, as Jamie Mackie goes on a mazy run down the right but drags his shot well wide of Freidel's goal
  • 2'
And straight away, Tottenham win a dangerous free-kick on the right of the area. They've been sharp in these opening exchanges. Kyle Walker whips the ball in, but it comes out to Assou-Ekotto who hits it wildly over the bar.
  • 1'
And Tottenham will get us underway here beneath the clear blue skies of West London. Should be a cracker.
  • 1'
And Tottenham will get us underway here beneath the clear blue skies of West London. Should be a cracker.
  • Also, a special mention to Spurs goalkeeper Brad Friedel who makes his 300th consecutive Premier League appearance. Top achievement.
  • As for Tottenham, Harry Redknapp is without Emmanuel Adebayor up front and so Jermaine Defoe comes in to spearhead the attack.
  • The big news for the home side is that the hot-headed Djibril Cisse (no, he hasn't dyed his hair again) returns from a four-game suspension and is on the bench for the Hoops
  • Tottenham: Friedel, Gallas, King, Walker, Assou-Ekotto, Bale, Parker, Van Der Vaart, Modric, Sandro, Defoe Subs: Cerny, Gabbidon, Traore, Buzsaky, Wright-Phillips, Helguson, Cisse
  • And we'll start off with the team news. QPR: Kenny, Hill, Taiwo, Ferdinand, Onuoha, Diakite, Derry, Taarabt, Mackie, Barton, Zamora Subs: Cudicini, Khumalo, Smith, Lennon, Rose, Livermore, Giovani
