P. Osvaldo 50'
And it finishes 1-0 to Roma on the night, courtesy of Pablo Osvaldo's headed winner! Stay on Goal.com for the latest, breaking post-match reactions, news and match reports from today's action. I'm Livio and I wish you all a very good evening, in similar vein to Luis Enrique's, after the Spaniard claims his first Roman victory!
90' + 4'
Parma are going all out for the equaliser here, as Modesto whips the ball into the danger zone, but Crespo can't quite control the ball as it is hacked away!
90' + 3'
Yellow Card Sebastian Giovinco
90' + 3'
ALMOST A LATE EQUALISER!! Giovinco has been tireless all night, and he cuts the ball back to Biabiany in the box, but once more, he wastes the chance to shoot!
There will be five minutes of injury time, as Biabiany again looks on in bemusement, as his pass rolls off for a goal kick. The Frenchman has had a very wasteful 90 minutes on home soil tonight.
Yellow Card Daniele De Rossi
A couple of meaty challenges occur here, as Rosi is once more bundled to the ground, this time by Lucarelli. De Rossi was also booked moments earlier after an overly-physical tackle on Galloppa.
The game has slowly drifted into a scrappy affair, as Roma look content to see out the victory. Giovinco's work-rate remains sky high, though, as the No.10 continues to try and weave his way into the visitors' box, but is hacked down and unfortunately looks hurt.
Roma are almost in and away once more, but Osvaldo is marginally offside after chesting down Perrotta's floating lob pass! Their distribution has been promisingly accurate tonight.
Fabio Henrique Simplicio
Jose Angel powers down the left-hand side, and puts in a floating cross into the area, but Mirante ALMOST makes a hash of it and Lucarelli is on hand to smother the ball away for a corner. Meanwhile, Pjanic can be proud of his free-flowing performance tonight, as Simplicio comes on to give his side more bite and defensive protection.
The Emilia-Romagna outfit are demanding that elusive equaliser more than ever here as a Giovinco corner bumbles in the midst of a melee in the Roma box, but Crespo has the final touch and it squirms off for a goal kick!
Yellow Card Bogdan Lobonţ
It's Roma's turn to hit back, and they are a whisker away from doubling their lead, as Totti smashes a shot at the Parma goal, but it is inches away from soaring into the corner of the net! Gobbi also previously struck a shot at Lobont, but despite the Romanian goalkeeper spilling the ball, he immediately claims it.
PARMA SHOULD HAVE EQUALISED!!!! Unbelievable miss from Biabiany, as he breaks into the box from the right, with the goal at his mercy, but he blazes his shot over the box! He even had support to make sure of the equaliser, but his decision-making and shooting must be questioned.
Lobont is on hand to deny Crespo's header from a right-bound cross, as Bojan comes on to replace Borini! Meanwhile, Osvaldo is furious as Paletta seemingly passes the ball back to Mirante, with the striker pressurising his countryman.
The free kick from Totti sails over, much to the visiting team's disappointment. Roma suddenly break back from a Parma attack, but Totti decides to slow the tempo down as he looks for options, and the chance is gone as Lucarelli intercepts! Too overelaborate there, in my opinion.
Yellow Card Cristian Zaccardo
Parma should be thanking their lucky stars, as Osvaldo chips the ball into the path of Borini, who is seemingly through one-on-one, and Zaccardo pulls him down in a last-ditch attempt to stop the U21 international! Surprisingly, Orsato is of the opinion that it is nothing more than a yellow card offence, despite being last man.
Right on the hour mark, we have ANOTHER great chance for Roma, as Parma can do nothing but watch! Pjanic finds space central to goal, but rather than shooting he finds Osvaldo, who takes on his man in the box and drags his effort just wide!!
AGONISINGLY CLOSE TO A SECOND!!! Totti finds Heinze in the box with his driven corner attempt, but despite the Argentine stopper having a free header, he sails his effort over!!
Roma's persistence is paid off with their fourth corner of the game, ready to be taken by Il Capitano himself.
The visitors again keep possession for a good minute and a bit, as they are still continuing to spray the ball around with considerable ease. However, they just cannot seem to break through the Parma rearguard and are being forced to go backwards.
Close once more from Roma! Totti looks to play in Osvaldo with a delicious through pass, but the Italo-Argentine hitman fails to connect with the ball. Meanwhile, Giovinco again is hacked down on the byline, and displays his unhappiness with Burdisso's tackle.
Roma are being momentarily pegged back here, as Parma pile the pressure on with a succession of corners. Burdisso copes admirably in defence for Luis Enrique's men.
Assist Aleandro Rosi
Goal Pablo Daniel Osvaldo
GOOOOOLACIOOOOO!! Incredibly, Rosi makes a return to the pitch and in some style, as he curls in an inch-perfect cross onto the head of Osvaldo, who makes sure his side go 1-0 up! Fantastico!! Great to see the ex-Livorno wideman make a comeback from the stretcher.
A hard-hitting sandwich between Rosi and Burdisso there, as the duo fight with Floccari to win the ball. However, Rosi comes off by far the worst with a potential head injury and is forced off on a stretcher, with Taddei waiting in the wings to replace him!
And we're underway for the second 45! Heinze is forced to make an immediate intervention to put the ball out for a throw.
Changes are being made here at the Tardini, as Burdisso comes on to replace Kjaer, who struggled against the pace of Parma's attack, not to mention being in the possession of a yellow card too.
...and the free kick goes just over Lobont's bar. More dynamic play from Parma in and around Roma's area, but De Rossi puts an end to the attack, and also the half! Send me your thoughts on the match via Twitter @livmc! Catch you in 15, ladies and gentlemen.
Kjaer is a lucky, lucky boy here, as Biabiany leaves him for dead while cutting into the middle, but the Dane slides in cynically to give Parma yet another perilous free kick attempt. He was already shown a yellow just moments earlier.
The match is really beginning to open up here, as we have more goalmouth opportunites on the cusp of Daniele Orsato's whistle to signal half time! Giovinco is found in the Roma box, but Heinze uses his experience to win a free kick for his side, while Totti powers another strike at goal, but it's dragged wide.
OHHHHHH!!! First real chance of the game, as more patient build-up ensues, but suddenly Totti, in bundles of space, smashes a low shot at Mirante, who squirms the ball to the feet of Osvaldo, but is somehow deprived of a goal as a corner is awarded. Warning signs for Parma!
Fantastic use of the ball from Perrotta, who collects the ball from Pjanic, and he puts in the most delightful of balls into the path of Angel, who seemingly races clear of Zaccardo, only for the ex-Italy man to put in a last ditch interception.
Giovinco's free kick is deflected for a corner, but the resulting corner is dealt with and Roma win a throw-in.
Yellow Card Simon Kjaer
And we now have the first yellow of proceedings here, as Kjaer goes in rashly on Modesto. Giovinco stands over the set-piece on the edge of the box.
CLOSE! Both sides have opportunities of their own here, as Giovinco is extremely unfortunate to have seen his attempt at playing Floccari in blocked off, in which would have resulted in the first goal of the game. On the other side of the field, Osvaldo is found with a pinpoint Pjanic pass in the box, but he can only fizz the ball into the area, where he could've possibly had a shot on the volley.
Roma are beginning to take the game to Parma now, as their ball retainment is Barcelona-like at times. You can really see the Catalan influence in their football here.
The duel involving Angel and Biabiany is definitely one to watch as this game wears on. The pair are going at eachother with real purpose on occasions!
Giovinco again looks tantalising with the ball at his mercy, and he unleashes an attempt which is well saved by Lobont!
Roma's front three are playing very well when they have the ball at feet, with Osvaldo impressing in particular, but the service is lacking in the middle of the park currently.
The resulting corner bumbles around in the box, as Parma fail to clear their lines efficiently, but it's hacked away by Lucarelli.
More possession play here from Roma, who keep the tempo slow, but in a blink of an eye, Totti smashes a shot at goal which is deflected for a corner.
A little too feisty there from Roma, who concede two successive free kicks! The ball is zipping around the visitor's box frantically, but the resulting shot sails over.
Parma are really beginning to grab hold of this encounter, mainly due to the talents of their diminutive talisman! Their forward-thinking approach is a definite positive for the purists, as Roma's passing at times is a little laboured and uneventful.
OOH! Again it's Giovinco, who whips in a dangerous cross into the box from a corner, but Lucarelli cannot steer his header at goal, as his attempt whistles just over.
Lobont makes a crucial decision to burst off his line and hack the ball away, after his defence makes a meal of their attempts to clear it. Giovinco, meanwhile, wins a free kick for his side on the edge of the Roma box, but it is to no avail as it simply rebounds off the wall.
Giovinco is another player who has already displayed warning signs, as he is digging at the heels of De Rossi, who is forced to head back to the Roma goal!
An exquisite piece of skill there by Osvaldo, who gives the ball to Totti, who in turn puts a trademark through pass to Angel, but the Spaniard can't quite find the right cross, as it is skewed over the bar by the ex-Sporting Gijon man!
Borini is ruled offside, despite looking on after chasing a long lobbed pass in the Parma box. Meanwhile, Morrone is bulldozed down by Osvaldo and a free kick is awarded to Franco Colomba's men.
Roma have the first shot of the game, through left-back Angel, who sees his shot blaze over. A very promising start to affairs here in northern Italy, as Luis Enrique's side are already showcasing their precise passing game.
And without further adieu, the game is underway! Roma go from right to left, with Parma going vice versa.
The two teams both come out of the tunnel, as we now await kick-off! A very colourful Ennio Tardini tonight, with the Curva Nord in full swing. There will be a minute's silence in honour of the Italian soldiers, who were killed in Afghanistan in the past week.
Next up it's Roma, who will feature in a 4-3-3: Lobont, Rosi, Heinze, Kjaer, Jose Angel; Perrotta, De Rossi, Pjanic; Borini, Totti, Osvaldo. Subs: Curci, Taddei, Cassetti, Burdisso, Simplicio, Bojan, Borriello.
And it's Parma first up, who line up in their renowned 4-4-1-1 formation: Mirante; Zaccardo, Paletta, Lucarelli, Gobbi; Biabiany, Morrone, Galloppa, Modesto; Giovinco; Floccari. Subs: Pavarini, Feltscher, Crespo, Rubin, Blasi, Jadid, Ze Eduardo.
