FULL-TIME! 2-0 to Napoli! Hamsik and a Burdisso own goal end Roma's winning streak at just two matches. As Napoli move up to 11 points with a deserved three points against the Giallorossi on home soil. Thank you for joining Goal.com's LIVE commentary of Serie A and we hope you join us again!
The fourth official holds up his board indicating three minutes of injury time, but it doesn't look like a comeback is on the cards here.
Totti seems to be one of the few still fighting for Roma, he gets a corner for the Giallorossi, but it fails to beat the first man.
Totti earns a freekick from a central position, but it's wasted as Roma fail to catch Napoli off guard. The hosts just have to run down the clock...
Own Goal Juan
GAME OVER! 2-0 to NAPOLI! A Roma defender slips, letting Campagnaro free down the right. He squares the ball low to Cavani who is in the centre of the area, but it looks like it comes off Burdisso and into the back of the net! Surely it's all done now.
Yellow Card Salvatore Aronica
Aronica is booked for handling the ball along the half-way line, trying to spark a counter attack for Mazzarri's men.
Roma are desperately searching for an equaliser. Totti flicks wide to Rosi, he float it to the far post over the Napoli defence. Vucinic controls and shoots low, but the shot is deflected and De Sanctis collects. Roma running out of time!
Roma almost catch Napoli sleeping this time. Totti quickly prods a set-piece forward to Vucinic, but he takes a bit too long and Campagnaro comes in for the block.
Assist Andrea Dossena
Goal Marek Hamsik
GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLL. It's Marek Hamsik! Roma's defence fell asleep as Dossena flew down the left. No one is marking Hamsik as he volleys the former Liverpool man's pass on target. Lobont gets a hand to it, but it's not enough. 1-0 to Napoli!
Vucinic replaces Borriello, who was shackled by the Napoli defence for the most part. Can the striker repeat his heroics from last weekend? Meanwhile, Lavezzi receives some treatment for a cut to his cheek, but is back on the field after being patched up.
CAVANI somehow misses again! Juan's clearance is not satisfactory, Cavani is sent in alone in the area, but shoots hard and low but Lobont gets a foot to it! Another great save by the Romanian.
Lavezzi really is on his game today. He accelerates past Cassetti once again and squares the ball across the area, but it's intercepted by the equally impressive Lobont.
Pizarro, who has been rather sloppy in this contest, fouls Lavezzi on the edge of the area as Napoli had numbers coming forward. Freekick to the hosts...ITS LAVEZZI, curls it just over the bar as the crowd gasps.
Yellow Card David Pizarro
ANOTHER GREAT SAVE BY LOBONT. After a series of corners from Roma, Napoli play a textbook coutner attack. Cavani moves into the area and fires, but Lobont does well again.
Yellow Card Ezequiel Lavezzi
De Rossi steals the ball in midfield and bursts forward, being taken down on the egde of the area by Gargano, who picks up a booking. The freekick is smacked by Totti, blocked by Lavezzi (also booked), but he moves to early it will be retaken...second attempt...Totti's shot is well wide. A chorus of boos ring out around the stadium.
Yellow Card Walter Gargano
Lavezzi turns Cassetti numerous times rampaging down the left flank, but fails to find a telling ball into the area. De Rossi does well to calm things down with the ball at his feet in the box and clears the danger.
Yellow Card Marco Cassetti
Borriello tries his luck from a very tight angle, he coordinates well to put it on goal, but De Sanctis has no trouble with the low drive into his palms.
And we're off for the second-half! Could we see Vucinic off the bench for Roma? Not yet...For now, Menez comes off for Brighi.
45' + 1'
That's all for the first-half - a few good chances, but it's still Napoli 0-0 Roma. Join us in 15 minutes for the second-half.
Menez bursts into life with a defence-splitting run! Borriello's plays him a wonderful pass but De Sanctis is alert and gets there just ahead of the Frenchman, That could have been the opening Roma were looking for.
Totti and Borriello are having to drop deeper and deeper to pick up the ball. Napoli are quite organised at the back today and not giving anyone breathing space through the middle.
Napoli take advantage of a lapse from Roma with a quick throw in down the right, Cavani's open in the box, but Hamsik's cross is too far for the Uruguayan hitman.
Now it's De Sanctis' turn to make a great save! Borriello's header is deflected by the defender, and the shot stopper re-adjusts himself in time to get a hand on it. A great reaction from the Italian.
Menez and Cavani are two players that have practically been invisible this match after brilliant displays last weekend in the respective matches. I now understand the nickname 'The Phantom Menez'.
GREAT SAVE FROM LOBONT! Hamsik chests down Lavezzi's pinpoint ball into the area and hits a low drive, but Lobont is off his line quickly to deny the midfielder.
Borriello and Aronica clash in the area and require medical attention. They are waiting for permission to get back on the field, both players look to have shaken off their injury.
RIISE MISSES A GLORIOUS CHANCE! Totti tips the ball out to Cicinho on the right, the Brazilian floats it over Borriello, Riise controls with his chest and hits a volley, but he didn't get the proper connection - it's over the bar.
Yellow Card Michele Pazienza
Lavezzi releases Hamsik on the counter, but there is no support for him. He cuts inside and tries to fool the goalkeeper by going to the short side, but Lobont isn't tricked by the crafty Slovakian playmaker.
Roma build from the back, Totti peels out to the right, hits an early cross to the far post and Riise heads a looping ball back across goal. Cannavaro does just enough to put off Borriello.
Ohhhh! Cicinho's overlapping run is left unmarked and he fires from the edge of the area, but Paolo Cannavaro makes a vital block! Roma really opened them up there.
Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri looks displeased after some sloppy play from his side. A win for the hosts would put them on 11 points with AC Milan.
Napoli have a throw deep in Roma territory. Maggio crosses it in, Dossena's at the far post. He goes down under pressure and wants a penalty, but the referee correctly waves play on.
Despite Roma's possession on the ball, it's Napoli who have looked more dangerous thus far with their pacey counter attacking unit - sitting back and waiting for opportunities.
Lavezzi takes advantage of a midfield error and flies forward, he beats Juan in the box, but his curling effort is straight into the hands of Bogdan Lobont.
Ohhhh! It would have been the goal of the season. Cavani holds up the ball at the centre circle on a lightening quick counter, plays a ball to hamsik, who lobs it over the defence for Dossena, but his one-time flies just over the net! Great play from the hosts.
it's been timid stuff so far, with Borriello being flagged offside after a lofted ball from Cassetti. Interestingly, Napoli captain Cannavaro sent a SMS message to his friend Borriello, staing "Come to Napoli and lose!" a play on De Rossi's text message that convinced Borriello to join Roma: "Come to Rome and win!"
And the teams kick-off at the Stadio San Paolo! Here's hoping for an exciting contest...
Let's start with the line-ups. Napoli: De Sanctis; Campagnaro, Cannavaro, Aronica; Maggio, Pazienza, Gargano, Dossena; Hamsik, Lavezzi; Cavani. Roma: Lobont; Cassetti, Juan, Burdisso, Cicinho; Menez, De Rossi, Pizarro, Riise; Totti, Borriello.
