All over! Bayern have dropped out of the Champions League places with a disappointing 1-1 draw in the derby with Nuernberg. Bayern, scrappy though they were, appeared to be heading for a vital away win until Eigler punished Thomas Kraft's catastrophic blunder. Thanks for joining us and until next time, Auf Wiedersehen.
90' + 3'
Red Card Arjen Robben
90' + 2'
The free-kick is hit low and it strikes a member of the Bayern wall. Corner to Nuernberg. Bayern are reprieved when Kircher blows up for a foul. Hecking is furious on the touchline for the ball had fallen to a Nuernberg player at the back post!
90' + 1'
Bayern cannot believe it but Tymoschuk has been penalised for a foul on Eigler, catching the attacker as he looked to clear the ball. It has to be said that is a harsh call from Knut Kircher. Free-kick FCN. Could there be late drama?
Appeals for handball as Gomez's shot is blocked having been found by Robben. That looked ominous for Nuernberg but they somehow survived. And now the game is becoming really stretched with Gustavo making an important block to deny Schieber the way through.
Neither side unable to muster that golden chance to secure a late victory so far as time is running out. Bayern beginning to go more direct and pour men forward...
Eigler peels off to the left-hand side and floats a wonderful cross to Schieber at the far post. Schieber is unsure whether to head or volley, he half protrudes his leg towards the ball but makes no contact and Bayern have a goal kick.
Despite the best efforts of the jet-heeled Robben, he cannot atone for an errant touch and keep the ball in play in order to find Gomez at the near post. Hegeler wins a free-kick up the other end after Contento's stray leg catches the substitute winger.
Klose hits out in frustration after he is penalised for catching Wolf. He takes the ball but also the man and has a talking to from Kircher, who instructs the veteran poacher to calm down.
The home side cheer ironically as Schweinsteiger's radar gets it all wrong with the ball uncharacteristically finding not a team-mate but the touchline. Dieter Hecking is certainly not cutting a calm figure on the sideline as he issues stern instructions to his troops.
Robben is caught offside as Bayern looked to spring FCN's offside trap. And we do indeed have the introduction of Nuernberg icon Marek Mintal, who is on his last legs now, but remains a hugely popular player in northern Bavaria. Mintal replaces Mehmet Ekici.
Ekici's high far post corner failed to test the Bayern goalkeeper out. Eigler finds Schieber with a through ball - Schieber tumbles to the floor under Badstuber's challenge but the German international won the ball fairly, despite what the crowd thought about it!
The veteran Marek Mintal is warming up on the touchline. On the pitch, it is another poor clearance from Kraft, which he slices to Lahm 20 yards from goal over on the right touchline. And when FCN win the ball back, Lahm has to head behind his own goal after Kraft showed no intention to come for Chandler's cross. He looked almost stunned to see the ball flying through the air. Another mistake could be in the offing here.
Gomez holds his hands to his head. Superb through ball from Schweinsteiger. Gomez races on to the ball and is in behind the defence. Wollscheid perhaps has a little tug back but he can still get the shot away - Schaefer saves with his legs - and Robben's penalty appeal is half-hearted and futile. Meanwhile, Schalke have scored against Wolfsburg in Gelsenkirchen through Jurado!
Tymoschuk gives away a free-kick just outside the left-hand edge of the Nuernberg box after a clumsy trip on the impressive Eigler. Tymo has failed to settle into the game since coming on at the break and has been knocked out of joint since being dropped from the starting eleven. Ekici goes for power, and pays the price for it as the ball is bundled away.
Robben buys a corner off Pinola and then picks out Gomez at the near post, who makes a superb run across the defenders but volleys wide of the goal. A reminder of Bayern's danger from set-pieces. Nuernberg cannot afford to switch off for a split second in these closing fifteen minutes.
Ekici blasts the ball over the crossbar but worryingly from a Bayern point of view, he was afforded a great deal of space to run into. For the record, Turkey coach Guus Hiddink is at the game today.
Bayern look to play the combinations along the edge of the box but Wollscheid was wise to their intentions and made the interception. However, Bayern soon win it back as Nuernberg can do little in terms of keeping possession.
Ekici takes the corner short to Pinola, who very ambitiously goes for the piledriver from quite a narrow angle on the left. In truth, it was not the worst effort but the ball was always rising.
There is now an end to end feel about this game, even though there still has not been a great deal of goalscoring chances created throughout. Luiz Gustavo has to slide in to divert Eigler's cross behind for a corner. Eigler has been superb today in the service of his team.
Second time around, Robben's delivery poses fewer problems for der Club's rearguard. The crowd begin to roar sensing the possibility of a counter through Chandler but Badstuber uses his strength to hold the American off and guide the ball back to his goalkeeper.
Robben picks up the loose ball down the right, shuffles inside and wins a corner for his team. Superb corner, which is helped on at the near post by that man Klose and headed off the line at the back stick by Cohen! Chandler runs the ball out behind his own goal and it's a Bayern corner.
Almost another break for Eigler, who charged down Luiz Gustavo's clearance and chased the ricocheted ball with great gusto but fortunately for Bayern, it landed safely at Kraft's feet. Though after what happened for the equaliser, not really sure how safe the ball is with Kraft!
And a welcome return to action for Julian Schieber, who makes his comeback from injury. The man on loan from Stuttgart replaces Robert Mak and will go straight up top. Can he become a derby hero?
Hegeler concedes a free-kick for a niggly foul and Nuernberg bring the cavalry forward. However, they are made redundant by Wolf's ridiculous effort at a 30-yard screamer. Toni Kroos he is not.
Though not on the same level, Eigler's seventh goal of the season does provoke thoughts of Dejan Stankovic's masterpiece for Inter against Schalke on Tuesday night after Neuer had done rather better than Kraft in coming charging out of his penalty box.
Louis van Gaal opts to make his final change while Cohen is receiving treatment. Goalscorer Thomas Mueller is replaced by Miroslav Klose.
And Kraft is now all over the place. He was at sixes and sevens as Nuernberg played the ball into the bo, where Eigler headed across goal and wide. Bayern now have more urgency to their play. Just before the goal, Robben had done magnificently to skin Pinola and find Gomez, whose shot was blocked by Wolf. How football can turn in the blink of an eye.
Kraft came out of his goal and casually chipped the ball to Eigler, who then lifted the ball over Kraft, who made a half-hearted attempt to get back, and into the vacant goal. Hugely embarrassing for Kraft and Bayern but just what this game required!
Goal Christian Eigler
TORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR FC NUERNBERG!! UTTER CALAMITY FOR BAYERN AND THOMAS KRAFT!! And it means everything to the home side!!!!!! From nothing, Christian Eigler has equalised in the Bavarian derby!!!
Yellow Card Philipp Wollscheid
Mak receives an encouraging pat on the head from Cohen after his curling shot could not quite come back enough to unduly worry Kraft. At least there was a little more purpose and self-belief about that Nuernberg attack. At the other end, Knut Kircher puts Wollscheid into the book after a heavy challenge on Mario Gomez.
Chandler is back on his feet after being attended to by the medical staff. The free-kick was well delivered by Ekici but headed over the crossbar by an unmarked Wollscheid, who will feel he should have done better. The home fans starting to wave their flags a little more vigorously.
Yellow Card Holger Badstuber
Badstuber is booked and now the crowd begin to get a little raucous. The centre-back chopped down Chandler who was working up a head of steam on another marauding raid into Bayern territory. Free-kick FCN.
Lovely pirouette from Pinola to escape Robben's clutches as Nuernberg look to build up the play with patience. They almost get a stroke of good fortune as Schweinsteiger's pass crashes against Ekici before Luiz Gustavo sweeps up and punts the ball away from danger.
Ribery's persistance and guile pays off as he shrugs off two defenders, loses his balance, gets back to his feet and plays the ball forward to Gomez, who loses out to Wollscheid.
Sloppy from Bayern as Tymoschuk fails to find Lahm and Nuernberg win a throw inside Bayern's own half. This game needs someone to grab it by the scruff of the neck and set it alight.
Again good pressure from Nuernberg, who force Bayern progressively back towards Kraft, who has to hastily clear upfield. Klose and Ottl are warming up but no third change is imminent. The second half is not as fluent as the first, which was in itself scrappy at times.
FCN try their luck from long range and once more it's the ambitious Jens Hegeler, who shrugged off the attentions of Contento before finding the stand behind the goal for a second time.
Speaking of Hegeler, with a first-time shot he rockets the ball over Kraft's goal after good unselfish team play from Eigler, who held the ball up before teeing the substitute up. Gomez is then penalised for a foul on Wolf, who is clutching his face but he should be fine to soldier on.
Hegeler looks to battle his way past Ribery but he has to admit defeat to the Frenchman, who has been involved in a few scuffles so far today, mostly with Timothy Chandler.
Welcome back for the second half. Bayern have brought on Diego Contento in place of Danijel Pranjic in a like for like swap at left-back. Anatoliy Tymoschuk has also entered the fray in place of Toni Kroos. Bayern kick us off in the second-half.
It's a poor ball from Ribery across field, too far in front of Mueller, much to Bayern's annoyance as they could have delivered the perfect finale to this first-half. Robben's corner is punched away by Schaefer and Knut Kircher blows for half-time. Join us in 15 for the second-half. Bis dann.
Eigler looks to do Pranjic on the outside, knocking the ball one way and surging by the other. Pranjic is having nothing of it and Nuernberg have one last chance to equalise... Ekici takes the free-kick, squares it to Cohen who does not catch the shot correctly. Bayern counter...
Robben and Schweinsteiger protest as Bayern concede a free-kick in a promising position for the home side after Schweini's foul on Cohen. Ekici delivers from 35 yards and he picks out Wolf with precision but the Nuernberg skipper heads well wide.
Pinola is everywhere in this game in the last few minutes, bombing up and down the touchline, regularly expressing his frustration. All seems not well with the full-back.
Terrific burst forward from Pinola, who excites the crowd as he dashes past two players before Lahm decides to stop the Argentine in his tracks with a well-timed challenge. Pinola's hairstyle leaves a lot to be desired but he's a useful member of this Nuernberg outfit with his experience. Moments later, there's round three of Ribery against Chandler as the American is caught late by the Frenchman but Knut Kircher sees little in the incident and Bayern have a goal kick.
Almost a major blunder from Kraft!! A long ball over the top, he charges out of his box and slices the ball behind himself for a corner. Eigler could not quite make up the ground. Wolf heads the corner over. That could have been a lot worse for Bayern and very embarrassing indeed for young Thomas Kraft.
A sneaky foul from Pinola who trips Mueller. Robben takes the free-kick only to see it headed away by Wollscheid in authoritative fashion, the young defender attacking the ball.
Mak does well to elude Lahm's initial challenge but he then lets himself down with a back post cross that is much too deep for Eigler in the penalty box.
Mueller stops with the ball, teases Pinola then finds Lahm. Bayern are being very patient as usual here, knowing they have Nuernberg right where they want them.
A comical and embarrrassing effort from Chandler to volley towards goal as the ball crossed the touchline having beaten him for pace. He shakes his head to acknowledge as much as he skies the effort almost straight up in the air.
Yellow Card Toni Kroos
They won't maintain the pressure with fouls such as that by Toni Kroos on Pinola, who is taken out with a clumsy sliding challenge, for which the ex Leverkusen man is booked. And Hegeler does indeed come on for Guendogan.
Mueller lays the ball off to Ribery, who unsuccessfully tries to play a 1-2 with Gomez. Bayern looking a little more dangerous in the last couple of minutes as they pour white shirts forward in search of a second.
Ribery delivers the ball to the back post where Schweinsteiger is unable to score his second headed goal of the season. Speaking of headers, Pranjic nods the ball coolly back to Kraft under pressure from Cohen.
Ribery looks to test out his speed against Chandler. The American gets revenge for the earlier touchline barge by charging the winger off his feet in rather more spectacular fashion. It sounded quite a painful landing against the Sky advertising hoardings. Ribery threatens to overreact but stops short of anything too serious. Free-kick Bayern.
Nuernberg are preparing to bring on Jens Hegeler for Ilkay Guendogan, who has a problem and was discussing the extent of that earlier with Dieter Hecking on the touchline.
A quiet period gives way to a real chance for Bayern. Nuernbegr again lost the ball in midfield. Mueller whipped the ball in for Gomez who was denied by a combination of Wolf and Schaefer after ghosting into the box almost unnoticed. The ensuing corner comes to nothing when Ribery shoots wide.
Ribery wins it back and then looks to shuffle his way between two Nuernberg defenders. The Frenchman cannot go all the way but he does gain a throw-in for his side. Pranjic has been well marshalled so far by the Nuernberg right-hand side, who have not afforded him the chance to embark on his trademark overlapping runs down that left flank.
Ekici looks up, feigns to cross, makes more ground and then shoots on goal. It ricochets off Badstuber to Cohen, who hopefully shoots on goal but the Israeli gets underneath the volley and it sails harmlessly over the bar.
The corner comes to nothing although the away fans can be heard in good voice. Bayern continue to spray the ball across the pitch to work an opening. Lahm's cross skips through to Schaefer with Gomez unable to make the run from far to near post in time.
Ribery finds Mueller, who then finds Kroos and he sweeps the ball out to Robben. The Dutchman gets to the byline and wins a corner for his side against his nemesis Wolf, who on this occasion makes an excellent and clean sliding challenge.
Ribery holds off Chandler before bringing Pranjic into play. The Croatian winger jinks inside, then out but his touch lets him down and FCN have a throw.
Badstuber gets caught edging too far forward and is turned by Mak, whom he then fouls by tugging incessantly at his shirt. Free-kick FCN. Ekici swings the ball in to the far post, where Wollscheid is deemed to have jumped unfairly against Badstuber.
Important clearance from Cohen, who was tracking back. The Israeli volleyed Lahm's far post cross upfield with Gomez lurking in behind, ready to pounce.
Wonderful play from Eigler down the right as he left Pranjic for dust before crossing into the centre. Mueller puts the ball behind for a corner after Ekici's attempted shot on goal. Ekici's corner is again a good delivery and he finds Simons, who heads wide.
Yellow Card Andreas Wolf
Arjen Robben is writhing in pain over on the right-hand touchline and Andreas Wolf is booked for a crude challenge from the side as he stopped the Dutch winger in full flight. The FCN skipper will have to be careful now for the remainder of this match.
Chandler looks to go around the outside of Ribery, who gently nudges the American off the ball. The Frenchman is needlessly penalised as Chandler had overrun the ball. Excellent delivery into the area from Guendogan but Bayern are able to clear.
Here come FCN on the counter but Gustavo is across to cover the run of Mak. The Brazilian's pace has got Bayern out of a lot of scrapes in recent weeks ; it came in handy last week against Marco Reus and Gladbach.
Almost a terrific break from Guendogan through the middle of the park before his through ball is cut out. Nuernberg come again though however Chandler's cross is cut out. Bayern counter, lose it before Mueller wins it back and finds Robben. Nuernberg struggling to keep the ball for long periods with Bayern's pressure.
Lahm scurries forward coming infield before releasing the ball to Kroos. Bayern are then forced back to the 'keeper through some targeted pressing from the Nuernberg attackers.
Nuernberg win their first corner over on the left. Set-play exponent Ekici takes to the near post, where it's helped on to Mak, who shoots wide from the edge of the penalty box. Nicely worked but in the end, little threat was posed to Kraft.
Gomez shrugs his shoulders as he is called up for a foul on Andreas Wolf, who is helped to his feet by the Bundesliga's joint top goalscorer. There was a definite hand-off from Gomez, à la rugby.
Good pressure from Eigler to chase down Pranjic and then Badstuber, forcing Bayern to go back to Kraft. He soon retreats though however second time around a stray pass from Luiz Gustavo goes out for a throw.
Side netting! It appeared as though Pinola would take it with his left-foot, bringing the ball in but Ekici struck the ball sweetly from 25 yards into the side netting. In fairness, Kraft had it covered all the way.
Schweinsteiger looked to have won the ball cleanly from Cohen but Herr Kircher is in disagreement. Luiz Gustavo looks in a shade of trouble from the long ball forward and indeed he gives away the foul for an unfair leap into the air against Ekici. Dangerous position this for FCN.
A real body blow for der Club early on but ruthless play from Bayern. Meanwhile there is a stoppage as the Nuernberg medical staff attend to Guendogan and van Gaal issues tactical instructions to Schweinsteiger.
Assist Arjen Robben
Goal Thomas Müller
TORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR FC BAYERN!!!!!!!! THOMAS MUELLER WITH A HUGE GOAL FOR THE CHAMPIONS!!! Full credit must go though to Arjen Robben. The Dutch winger intercepted a Nuernberg free-kick, came forward with the ball before picking out Mueller. The #25's first touch was exemplary and he left Schaefer with no chance to give Bayern the lead.
Kroos is fouled by an overenthusiastic Ekici as he looks to launch another Bayern attack. The tempo is rather slow thus far as both teams look to edge their way into this derby clash.
Luiz Gustavo exchanges passes with Badstuber then looks long to Ribery, who holds his face after being caught by Chandler who acrobatically leapt to win the header before falling to the ground in spectacular fashion. Chandler, a more attacking right-back, has won the battle over Juri Judt to start the derby against one of the form players in Germany.
Early foul from Mueller on Ekici and he concedes the free-kick around 40 yards from goal, which is taken short. And almost a half-chance for Eigler inside the box after Wolf had helped the ball on but Kraft was well positioned to scoop the ball up.
Knut Kircher has completed the formalities with the two captains. The home side kick us off in their maroon home kit. Bayern are in white.
Bayern with a formidable looking team this afternoon - arguably their strongest eleven. They struggled to get the decisive goal last week but did break down a dogged Gladbach team, which should stand them in good stead against a Nuernberg side, who have proved tough to beat since the winter break. Timmy Simons has been one of the signings of the season for der Club and the Belgian will be hoping to do his bit in keeping Bayern's wonderful attacking triumvirate quiet. And Mario Gomez continues his personal duel with Papiss Demba Cisse in the quest for the title of the league's Torjäger or top goalscorer.
Bayern Munich starting XI: Kraft ; Lahm, Badstuber, Luiz Gustavo, Pranjic ; Kroos, Schweinsteiger ; Robben, Mueller, Ribery ; Gomez Substitutes: Butt, Ottl, Contento, Tymoschuk, Hamit Altintop, Klose
Nuernberg: Schaefer ; Chandler, Wollscheid, Wolf, Pinola ; Simons, Cohen, Guendogan ; Ekici, Mak, Eigler. Substitutes: Judt, Hegeler, Nilsson, Plattenhardt, Mintal, Schieber, Stephan
