The 33-year-old has probably been the best goalkeeper in Serie A so far this season but had nothing to do in the first half. No chance on Borriello's goal as sloppy defending let him down. Made a great save on De Rossi to keep his side in the match.
The full-back position has been a problem area for the Rossoneri this season and so it proved again tonight. His failed clearance enabled Borriello to bury the winner.
Didn't have much to do in the first half as chances were few and far between. Wasn't able to handle the physicality of Adriano and Borriello on occasions.
His anticipation was top notch and made a few key interventions. His sliding tackle in his own penalty area to deny Borriello in the 59th minute was world class.
Supplied a few decent crosses but overall a poor display. The full-back was burned by Menez in the lead-up to Borriello's winner.
An all-action display from the Calabrese midfielder. Showed off his offensive capabilities with a lovely ball which sent Ibrahimovic clean through in the 35th minute. Tried to shadow Menez who was able to break free and set up the only goal of the game
Forced off in the 21st minute after a challenge by Menez.
A typical no-nonsense performance from the veteran. Battled hard in the midfield trenches and tried to will his team to victory.
Cut a frustrated figure at times. Seemed to be caught in two minds when he beat the offside trap and was one-on-one with Doni in the 30th minute. Picked up a silly booking in extra time which will see him miss Milan's next match after the winter break.
Has looked like the Robinho of the Selecao in the last few weeks for Milan but struggled tonight against Roma. Almost opened the scoring in the early going but faded badly after that. Caught offside a few times in the second half.
His work rate is second to none but wasn't able to supply the creativity which the Rossoneri so desperately needed tonight.
The 31-year-old made his first start in Serie A this season and had to be sharp to deny Ibrahimovic in the 35th minute. Didn't have many difficult saves to make but will be pleased to keep a clean sheet against the league leaders.
Was forced into a right-back role due to the illness of Cassetti and looked pretty comfortable. Wasn't overly troubled by Seedorf and Robinho.
The graceful defender did an excellent job commanding the back line. Conducted the offside trap to perfection. Was able to stifle Ibrahimovic, something most defenders have been unable to do this season.
We did not see many of his marauding runs forward this evening as he concentrated on his defensive duties.
The Frenchman was left for dead on a couple of occasions in the first half. Improved dramatically in the second session where his positioning was superb.
His mazy runs caused problems for the home side's backfour. Should have hit the net in the 30th minute but more than made up for it by setting up Borriello's goal in the second half.
One of Roma's best players tonight. Cool, calm and collected while managing to strike blow for blow against Gattuso and Ambrosini.
Worked his socks off and did well to kill the home side's creativity in the midfield. A solid, professional performance.
D. De Rossi
Protected the back four admirably and almost found the back of the net with a sweetly-struck volley in the second half. An inspired display this evening.
Came back to haunt Milan with the winner at San Siro. Was jeered off the pitch but even the boos couldn't wipe that smile off his face.
The 2010 Golden Bin ‘award’ winner hit back at some of his critics with a gutsy display. Held up the ball well and made his manager proud in the process.
