Milan will hope to get back to winning ways when they travel to Lazio next weekend while Parma look to continue their search for European football when they host Genoa. Thanks for joining me on this live commentary. Until next time, goodbye.
The problems continue to mount for Clarence Seedorf and Milan have now dropped to 11th place in Serie A. The Rossoneri showed fantastic spirit to come back with ten men but there was an inevitability that Parma would destroy Milan hearts.
FT: Milan 2-4 Parma. Roberto Donadoni's men are now 16 Serie A games without defeat after a pulsating match at the San Siro. Antonio Cassano's double put them 2-0 ahead after Christian Abbiati's fifth-minute red card but they were pegged back by goals from Adil Rami and Mario Balotelli. Amauri put Parma ahead 10 minutes from time before Jonathan Biabiany wrapped up the points in stoppage time.

Goal Jonathan Biabiany
BIABIANY MAKES IT 4-2! It's four straight defeats for Milan in all competitions now as Biabiany flicks a cross towards the back post which is deflected back into his path by Poli's clearing header. The former Inter man makes no mistake as he cushions a header past Amelia.
90' + 4'
Biabiany looks to wrap up the points for Parma but the pacey winger watches his bending effort curl narrowly over the bar. It seems that Milan will finish this game with nine men as Abate has picked up a knock.
90' + 2'
There are further concerns for Milan here as Balotelli is clutching his shoulder. The Italy striker shrugs off his injury to take a free kick but it goes straight into the gloves of Mirante.
Munari looks to catch out the Milan defence with a clever pass over the top of the centre-backs but Amelia rushes off his line to deny Amauri. Time is running out for Milan here. They fought so bravely to close the two-goal cushion but it seems they will come out of this game with nothing.
Milan pump the ball into the Parma box in desperate hope of finding a late equaliser but Mirante rises highest to pluck the ball out of the air. Parma then counter attack down the other end, with Obi stinging the palms of Amelia.
Biabiany has not had too much joy for Parma today but he continues to run his socks off, getting ahead of Mexes to tease a low cross into the box. However, Amelia rushes off of his line to prevent Amauri. Milan are just four minutes away from a fourth consecutive defeat in all competitions.
Cassani does excellently to shrug off Kaka before feeding Amauri just inside the box. However, De Jong is alert to the danger and he uses his strength to shield the ball out for a goal kick. Milan cannot get the ball down the other end at the moment.
Yellow Card Adil Rami
Rami picks up a late booking for a cynical challenge on Amauri after the veteran striker had pushed the ball beyond him. The Frenchman can have no complaints about that one. From the resulting set-piece, Amauri fires over under pressure from De Jong.
Afriyie Acquah is struggling with an injury here and he is replaced by the experienced Gianni Munari for the final 10 minutes. Can Parma hold on to boost their European ambitions?
Assist E. Schelotto
AMAURI PUTS PARMA AHEAD! Milan's joy is shortlived as Schelotto again races down the right wing. The on-loan Inter winger picks out Amauri with a low cross and the 33-year-old scores his sixth league goal of the season with a neat backheel flick which goes through Amelia's legs. What a game!
Penalty Goal Mario Balotelli
BALOTELLI COMPLETES THE COMEBACK! Milan looked dead and buried at 2-0 down but they have been tremendous in this second half, with Balotelli restoring parity by coolly sending Mirante the wrong way from the spot. Can they find a winner?
Yellow Card J. Obi
PENALTY FOR MILAN! Obi has certainly made an impact here but it is at the wrong end as he brings down Montolivo in the box. The referee points to the spot.
Schelotto is proving a good outlet for Parma and he races down the right again before his cross is deflected over by Mexes. However, Felipe is adjudged to foul Pazzini from the resulting set-piece.
Donadoni decides to make a second substitution as on-loan Inter midfielder Joel Obi replaces Maro Marchionni. The youngster will certainly want to make an impression here.
Milan are getting closer and Balotelli sells Acquah with a neat stepover before his bending effort goes narrowly past the far post. The home fans are beginning to get behind their team now.
CHANCE FOR BALOTELLI! Seedorf applauds his striker on the touchline as Balotelli controls a long ball superbly before fizzing a shot just wide of the target. Milan are pressing here.
The wall does its job as Amauri stands firm to deflect Balotelli's free kick behind for a corner. From the resulting set piece, the Milan players are furious that a penalty is not awarded for handball by Molinaro. However, I think the referee got the decision right there.
Yellow Card Marco Marchionni
Marchionni picks up Parma's first booking of the game after he brings down Pazzini outside the box. That means he will miss Parma's next league fixture. Balotelli is standing over this one.
It's a sign of attacking intent from the Rossoneri boss as Pazzini comes on to replace Bonera. Can Milan snatch an unlikely point here?
Kaka has looked more lively since that Milan goal and he clips a neat cross into the Parma box, which Felipe does excellently to head clear under pressure from Balotelli. There's a different complexion to this game now.
Clarence Seedorf is also plotting his final change here as Giampaolo Pazzini is readied on the touchline. Will Mario Balotelli be the man coming off?
There will be no Antonio Cassano hat trick today as he is replaced by Amauri. The former Milan striker is surprised to see his number illuminated and he receives a chorus of jeers from the San Siro crowd as he trudges off.
There is much more urgency and determination about this Milan side now and they are in the ascendency. I wonder whether Roberto Donadoni will make a change here.
MOLINARO TO THE RESCUE! Milan are moving the ball quicker now and Kaka - who was anonymous in the first half - has suddenly sprung to life. The Brazilian seizes on a defensive error by Lucarelli but he is denied the equaliser as Molinaro throws himself bravely in front of his shot.
Milan look rejuvenated by that Rami goal and Balotelli swings a teasing free kick into the Parma box which just evades Poli at the back post. Can they find an equaliser?
Goal Adil Rami
RAMI GIVES MILAN SOME HOPE! It's an inspired substitution from Seedorf as Rami rises highest at the back post to power Kaka's corner beyond Mirante. He showed tremendous determination to win that header. Is the comeback on?
Poli looks to pull one back immediately for Milan and he twists inside the challenge of Felipe excellently before testing Mirante with a low drive. That was much better from the hosts.
Seedorf decides to make a second substitution as Adil Rami comes on to replace Urby Emanuelson. The Milan supporters are not happy with what they are seeing here.
Assist Afriyie Acquah
Goal Antonio Cassano
CASSANO MAKES IT 2-0! The Parma striker rushes to celebrate with Donadoni as the pair revel in Milan's downfall. Acquah is the architect as he races to the byline before cutting the ball back for Cassano. The 31-year-old takes a good first touch before smashing a low shot beyond the despairing dive of Amelia.
ACQUAH GOES CLOSE! Schelotto again causes Bonera problems with his mazy dribbling down the right and he feeds Cassano who in turn tees up Acquah. However, the Ghanaian cannot keep his effort down as his shot from the edge of the box flashes over the bar.
Parma pick up where they left off at the end of the first half with Schelotto darting down the right once more. However, Mexes is in the right place to clear his teasing low cross.
The teams re-emerge from the tunnel for the second half and Milan - fresh from their team-talk - get the second half underway. There have been no substitutions from either side at the break.
HT: Milan 0-1 Parma. Antonio Cassano's ninth-minute penalty is the difference at the break after a pulsating and action-fuelled first half at the San Siro. Christian Abbiati was the Milan villain after he was dismissed after just five minutes for bringing down Ezequiel Schelotto and Clarence Seedorf's men can consider themselves fortunate to be only one goal behind against this Parma side brimming with confidence. It seems Roberto Donadoni's side are going to make it 16 Serie A games without defeat.
45' + 4'
MEXES IS A LUCKY BOY! The Frenchman is already on a yellow card and he is fortunate not to receive his marching orders after a reckless challenge on Felipe in a needless area. The crowd jeer loudly as the referee blows the half-time whistle.
45' + 2'
Chances at both ends here as Mirante rushes out of his goal to prevent Balotelli reaching Abate's right-wing cross before Cassani's drilled effort is palmed away by Amelia. It's been a pulsating first-half at the San Siro.
Schelotto has enjoyed a terrific first start in the Crociati jersey and he produces another darting run infield from the right. However, Cassano's searching pass cannot pick him out and is well intercepted by Bonera at the crucial moment.
GREAT SAVE BY AMELIA! Parma are cranking up the pressure at the end of the first half and they go within inches of doubling their lead as Cassani marauds down the right. The full-back teases a low cross into the middle and it deflects off Mexes, forcing Amelia to change direction and make a smart stop.
Acquah has looked lively on his return to the side and the Ghanaian is teed up on the edge of the box by Parolo before his low drive is deflected over the top by Abate.
Parma have shown plenty of attacking endeavour in this first half and Biabiany does well to latch onto Cassano's pass down the left but he cannot pick out Acquah in the box.
Yellow Card Philippe Mexes
Mexes is never one to shy away from a challenge but he is too reckless on this occasion and goes into the referee's notebook for a mistimed challenge on Cassano. Both Milan centre-backs are walking a disciplinary tightrope now.
Balotelli does brilliantly to hold off the challenge of Felipe down the right and he whips a teasing low cross towards the front post. However, Lucarelli gets there ahead of Montolivo and Mirante gathers. The Milan striker knows he has a point to prove today.
Biabiany is looking to cause the Milan problems defence with his pace but Emanuelson reads his intentions excellently to make a good interception. If Milan lose today, it will be their 11th league defeat of the season.
The Milan fans are getting restless here and they whistle their discontent as Balotelli plays a pass too far ahead of Abate down the right. Seedorf looks bemused on the touchline.
Montolivo is now receiving treatment after the Milan captain is on the receiving end of Cassano's powerful drive. The Parma players are screaming for another penalty and it did appear to strike his hand.
Yellow Card Daniele Bonera
Schelotto - who once scored in the Derby della Madonnina - is causing Milan problems with his pace and he darts behind Bonera before being tugged to the floor. The Milan centre-back picks up a booking.
Poli and Balotelli have merged a good understanding down the right and they combine once again to send the former through on goal. However, he delays getting his shot away and Acquah races back to make a well-timed challenge. There is a stoppage in play now as Cassano receives treatment.
BONERA TO THE RESCUE! Molinaro is having plenty of joy down the left wing and he swings another teasing cross into the Milan box. Biabiany is arriving and he meets the ball sweetly, however Bonera throws himself at the ball bravely to make a superb block.
The Parma full-backs are pushing forward at will and Molinaro's dangerous low cross causes Milan problems inside the box. Acquah seizes on the loose ball but the Ghanaian can only poke his effort wide of the target.
Molinaro is writhing in agony after Mexes catches the Parma left-back with a strong challenge. The French defender got the ball but is fortunate to escape a booking for his follow through.
This is a good spell for Milan but they fail to test Mirante from a series of crosses. It will take something special for the Rossoneri to overcome this in-form Parma side now. In fact, Parma have kept five clean sheets in their last six Serie A matches.
Parma instantly attack down the other end but Acquah can only drag his effort off target from the edge of the box. Good tempo to this game.
BALOTELLI HITS THE POST! Milan come within inches of grabbing the equaliser as Kaka flicks Montolivo's corner towards Balotelli. However, the Italy international can only stab his effort against the foot of the post and Parma survive.
GOOD PLAY FROM MILAN! Balotelli combines brilliantly with Poli down the right-hand side but he cannot find the equaliser as Lucarelli rushes across to make a well-timed block. Milan have a corner.
Milan are struggling to get hold of the ball here and they rely on a last-ditch De Jong challenge to prevent Biabiany from reaching Cassano's neat pass. Parma are first to everything at the moment.
CASSANO GOES CLOSE! It's all Parma at the moment and Milan continue to drop off. Cassano collects Molinaro's pass outside the box but just fails to bend his shot into the top right-hand corner, watching the ball flash agonisingly wide.
Parma are looking to double their lead quickly but Acquah cannot produce the goods as he leans back and balloons Cassani's pass over the bar.
Milan really do have a mountain to climb now. A goal down within 10 minutes and reduced to 10 men, that is the worst possible start for the under-fire Seedorf. Can they respond?
Penalty Goal Antonio Cassano
CASSANO SCORES! The 31-year-old comes back to haunt his former club as he coolly sends Amelia the wrong way, thumping a penalty into the bottom left-hand corner. That's his 10th league goal of the season.
Michael Essien is the man sacrificed as Marco Amelia takes the gloves. Can he save Cassano's spot kick?
Schelotto has made a bright impact on his first start for Parma but I am not sure he is going to continue here. The on-loan Inter forward is still receiving treatment.
Red Card Christian Abbiati
ABBIATI SENT OFF! It's a nightmare start for Milan as Schelotto latches onto Cassano's precise through ball before he is tripped by the Milan goalkeeper inside the box. The referee duly delves out the red card and points to the spot.
Balotelli is whistled by the Milan crowd as he touches the ball for the first time but he cannot open the scoring as Marchionni gets back brilliantly to prevent him getting his shot away.
CASSANO GOES CLOSE! The Parma striker attempts to catch out Abbiati at his near post but his free kick goes straight into the side netting.
Parma have made a promising start here and you can sense the confidence flowing through the side. Biabiany picks up a knock after he skips past Abate before being tripped by the Milan right-back who is fortunate to escape an early caution.
The referee blows his whistle and Parma get the ball rolling. Can they make it 16 Serie A games without defeat?
The teams emerge from the tunnel led by captains Montolivo and Lucarelli. Milan are in their famous black and red strip with Parma also in their familiar black and white jerseys. Kick-off is moments away.
Milan have won 10 of their last 11 home matches against Parma in all competitions.
When these sides met in the reverse fixture at the Stadio Ennio Tardini in October, Marco Parolo struck a 94th-minute winner to earn Parma a 3-2 victory. Alessandro Matri and Matias Silvestre had initially cancelled out first-half strikes from Parolo and Cassano.
PARMA (4-3-3): Mirante; Cassani, Lucarelli, Felipe, Molinaro; Acquah, Marchionni, Parolo; Biabiany, Cassano, Schelotto.
MILAN (4-2-3-1): Abbiati; Abate, Bonera, Mexes, Emanuelson; Essien, De Jong; Kaka, Montolivo, Poli; Balotelli.
PARMA TEAM NEWS: It's a former Inter trio up front for Parma today with Ezequiel Schelotto and Jonathan Biabiany supporting Cassano. Walter Gargano misses out through injury and Gabriel Paletta is suspended, meaning Felipe and Afriyie Acquah come into the side.
MILAN TEAM NEWS: Mario Balotelli retains his place up front despite a much-criticised performance in midweek while Ignazio Abate replaces the suspended Mattia De Sciglio at right-back. Kaka is joined by Riccardo Montolivo and Andrea Poli in the supporting trident, while former Parma man Daniele Bonera partners Philippe Mexes in the heart of defence.
However, his opposite number Mario Balotelli has found himself in the media spotlight this week after a series of poor performances. The Italy international was expected to lead by example this season but has only managed ten league goals. Ultras in the Curva Sud are expected to stage a protest today targeting their under-fire striker and CEO Adriano Galliani.
Roberto Donadoni is not the only man who returns to the San Siro today. Antonio Cassano will be desperate to impress against his former club and with nine Serie A goals to his name already this season, there is an increasing possibility that he could yet earn a spot in Cesare Prandelli's 23-man World Cup squad.
Roberto Donadoni has done a wonderful job at Parma this season and the Crociati are in with a chance of qualifying for European competition after picking up four wins and two draws from their last six games. Donadoni won six league titles and three European Cups during his two spells at the San Siro and will be hoping to inflict more misery on his former employers today.
With Milan crashing out of the Champions League in midweek after a 4-1 second leg defeat at Atletico Madrid, the Rossoneri face the very real prospect of failing to qualify for European competition next season. Clarence Seedorf's 10th-placed side have lost their last three games in all competitions and it does not get any easier today as they face a transformed Parma side who are looking to make it 16 Serie A games without defeat.
