Former Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the difference in this Serie A encounter between the two teams as he scored a fifth minute penalty for Milan. The Sweden international striker was caught by Marco Materazzi inside the Nerazzurri penalty area and he himself blasted home the spot-kick. In what proved to be an entertaining match, Milan were reduced to 10 men on the hour mark as Ignazio Abate was sent off.

Mark van Bommel will be the hardman in the midfield for Milan and will be entrusted with the task of making it a physical confrontation in the middle of the pitch. Van Bommel is struggling with an injury but has been training with the Rossoneri squad. If he is passed fit, then he could provide the bite in the midfield for Milan.
Samuel Eto’o has been marked as Inter’s dangerman by Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri and the Cameroon international will be keen to inspire the Nerazzurri to a victory. Eto’o has scored goals and has created them too this season, and has been a revived figure. Against Milan’s susceptible defensive unit, the former Barcelona forward will hope to be in full swing.
Milan defeated Inter in the reverse fixture earlier this season and will be looking to do a double over their city-rivals. However, on form Inter are the better side and although the form-book doesn’t decide a derby, the Nerazzurri could just nick this and regain pole position in the table.
