In Montolivo's absence, he was burdened with the responsibility of creating chances for the Milan attack but failed to make an impact. Will be lucky to start in the next match.
Helped to eliminate Celtic from the Champions League last season with two goals for Juventus but was marked out of the game by Ambrose and Van Dijk. Showed rare glimpses of quality but struggled to get involved.
Failed to continue his recent goalscoring form as he struggled to cope with Celtic's high pressing game. However, he did make a telling contribution as his superb free kick was parried by Forster, allowing Muntari to wrap up the points.
After making some fine saves, he was desperately unlucky to be wrong-footed by Zapata's deflected shot. Perhaps he could have done better for the second goal as he parried the ball into Muntari's path.

Performed his role excellently, sticking tight to Matri and Balotelli. Organised the defence effectively and could do nothing to prevent either Milan goal.
The Swede produced a tireless display from right-back, helping out the attack whenever possible and keeping Birsa quiet for large periods of the game.
The Honduran was the unfortunate individual as he deflected Zapata's shot into the net to give Milan the lead. However, his pace and strength ensured that he was rarely beaten on the wing.
