FULL TIME! MANCHESTER CITY 4-3 WOLVERHAMPTON! An enthralling game comes to a close as a Carlos Tevez brace helps City to three points that take them to the top of the Premier League. Debutant Edin Dzeko did well but it was Tevez's day. Wolves showed unbelievably fighitng spirit to give themselves hope after being 4-1 down, but they left it too late to grab an unlikely point. An entertaining game which, in the end, has produced a fair result as City dominated the second period with some quality attacking play.

That could have gone anywhere. Substitute Mujanji Bia tries his luck from outside the box and Kompany charges it down, only to see it spin behind agonisngly for a corner kick! Seconds remaining.

Panic stations at the back as Milijas is nearly put through by Doyle, but City clear through a combination of Kompany and Zabaleta! Only a few minutes to go and City are holding on!

GOAL!! WOLVES!! ZUBAR!! MANCHESTER CITY 4-3 WOLVERHAMPTON. Can you believe this? Manchester City have dominated this second half but they fall asleep at a set piece allowing Zubar to climb above everyone, heading the ball down into the ground and despite De Jong's goal-line clearance, the linesman gives the goal and replays show that the ball did cross the line. Nail biting stuff now for Manchester City with four minutes remaining!

Hennessey is keeping this score respectable as he makes a great save from Toure who really should have scored. Berra makes a right mess of a long-ball and Yaya Toure finds himself one on one with the Wolves stopper, but Hennessey makes an excellent save to prevent Yaya getting his second!
  • 81'
    SubstitutionCarlos Tévez James Milner

Tevez recieves a deserved standing ovation from the City faithful as he is replaced by Milner. No show of discontent this time from the substituted Tevez!

Despite Mancini being renowned for his defensive mentality, City are pushing for more goals! This time it's Gareth Barry who tries to create something from the edge of the box, but his delivery isn't great and Wolves clear. Almost damage limitation for Mick McCarthy's men now.

Tevez is hungry for his hat-trick! The Argentinian cuts inside onto his right-foot and despite having a sea of bodies infront of him, tries to curl an effort into the top right-hand corner, but his effort is predictably blocked and diverted out for a corner. The corner comes to nothing though and Wolves clear despite Kompany's flick on.
  • 71'
Wolves are trying to use the momentum regained from Doyle's penalty to get back into this game, but it isn't happening. Jones tried to thread Zubar through on the left-hand side but his pass was poor and too strong for his frustrated team-mate.

GOAL!! WOLVES!! DOYLE!! MANCHESTER CITY 4-2 WOLVERHAMPTON. Maybe it's not game over! Kevin Doyle gives Wolves a glimmer of hope as he slots a penalty into the bottom right hand corner after he was brought down clumsily by Wolves old boy Lescott. This would be some comeback!

GOAL!! MANCHESTER CITY!! TEVEZ!! MANCHESTER CITY 4-1 WOLVERHAMPTON. Tevez is showing Dzeko that it will take a lot to be the star striker at Eastlands! Pablo Zabaleta clips a cross in from the right and Tevez heads the ball home via the underside of the crossbar. Great header, great goal. Game over.
  • 63'
Dzeko is showing all of his ability at the moment. He cuts inside and fires a shot at Hennessey from a tight angle that Hennessey manages to parry away and Wolves defence smash it clear. Only a matter of time until City make it four.
  • 60'
Wolves players are shellshocked. After bossing most of the first-half they find themselves two goals behind and on the end of an avalanche of attacking football from the home-side. Whatever Mancini said at half-time it certainly worked as his players have come out with all guns blazing!
  • 57'
Ronald Zubar hits the crossbar! A great corner from Matt Jarvis on the right-hand side is met by the giant Wolves defender, but his header thuds off the crossbar. Very unlucky as it was a great leap from Zubar.

GOAL!! MANCHESTER CITY!! YAYA TOURE!! MANCHESTER CITY 3-1 WOLVERHAMPTON. What a goal from the home side, who have ripped Wolves apart at the start of the second half. Yaya Toure starts the move that he finishes on the edge of his own box, he finds Tevez and continues his run. Tevez plays the ball to his strike partner Dzeko, and the Bosnian plays a perfect through ball to Toure, who calmly slots the ball past Hennessey with his left foot. Counter-attacking at it's finest, and City are heading to the top of the Premier League.

GOAL!! MANCHESTER CITY!! TEVEZ!! MANCHESTER CITY 2-1 WOLVERHAMPTON. City's first attack of the second half leads to a moment of Tevez brilliance that gives them the lead. After recieving the ball from De Jong, Tevez picked the ball up on the edge of the box, skipped past three defenders before side-footing the ball underneath Hennessey. Fabulous goal.
  • 46'
We are back underway in Manchester and the rain is absolutely bucketing it down at Eastlands. City will need to battle through these monsoon conditions if they're going to get all three points!
  • 45' + 1'
HALF TIME. MANCHESTER CITY 1-1 WOLVERHAMPTON. Two scrappy goals sum up a scrappy performance from the home-side. Wolves have been the better side and arguably deserve to go into the break with the lead after Milijas' opener, but Kolo Toure's goal just before half-time means we go into the break level, but Roberto Mancini needs to remind his players that they're challenging for the title this season!
  • 43'
Kolarov takes advantage of the wet surface by unleashing a fierce drive from all of 35 yards that skips off the wet surface giving Hennessey all sorts of problems, but he manages to get enough on the strike to parry it behind for a corner kick.
  • 40'
    Assist Vincent Kompany
  • 40'
    Goal Kolo Toure
  • 40'
GOAL!! MANCHESTER CITY!! KOLO TOURE!! MANCHESTER CITY 1-1 WOLVERHAMPTON. Just like Wolves' goal, it wasn't the prettiest but they all count. Vincent Kompany flicks on a corner and Kolo Toure is in far too much space at the backpost, and he composes himself before squeezing the ball through a sea of bodies on the goal-line. All square at Eastlands!
  • 37'
Just as City look like they are finding a way back into the game, Wolves' remind them why they're infront. Zubar launches a long ball and Kolo Toure has to scramble it clear, Wolves' aren't letting City have a moment of rest here!
  • 34'
City are finally beginning to look interested in this game and they're slowly taking control of the match. Tevez smashes a firecracker of a shot from just outside the area that shaves the top of the crossbar, fabulous effort from the Argentinian.
  • 31'
Finally something for the home fans to get excited about. Adam Johnson does superbly down the right-hand side and glides into the penalty area, cuts back onto his left foot and drills a shot that Hennessey does well to parry clear, before claiming the loose ball with Tevez ready to tap in.
  • 28'
Wolves breathe a sigh of relief as Tevez plays in Dzeko, only for the offside flag to come to Wolves' rescue. Nothing going City's way at the moment.
  • 25'
To no surprise it's Wolves who create yet another chance. Doyle wins a corner off Kolo Toure and the corner drops to Hunt on the edge of the area, he has space to shoot and he does, but he doesn't quite get a clean connection and his effort is poor and sails well wide of Hart's goal.
  • 23'
Wolves' are all over Mancini's millionaires. Milijas is having the game of his life and his latest input is to win a free-kick in a good position 25 yards from goal. He plays the kick short to Ward whose cross is cleared behind for a corner. The resulting corner comes to nothing.
  • 21'
It should be two for Wolves! Good link up play from Fletcher as he feeds Stephen Hunt in down the left-hand side of the penalty box, and the Irishman looks up and brilliantly finds Jarvis who is unmarked ten yards out and looks certain to score. However Kolarov throws himself infront of Jarvis' effort to superbly block his goalbound effort. Superb defending and City are really in trouble here.
  • 18'
Yaya Toure is doing his bet to create something for his team-mates but it's just not happening at the moment. This time he tries to look for his brother Kolo with a cross in from the left-hand side, but his cute ball with the outside of his foot is well taken by Wayne Hennessey.
  • 16'
Almost an instant reply from Manchester City. Yaya Toure breaks down the left hand side and cuts the ball across looking for Dzeko, but the former Barcelona mans final ball wasn't quite good enough and Wolves manage to clear the ball out for a corner. A better ball from Yaya Toure and Dzeko has his debut goal for City, but it wasn't to be.
  • 15'
Another chance for Wolves as Milijas once again meets a Jarvis cross, but this time his header goes straight at Hart. City fans aren't enjoying this one bit.
  • 13'
GOAL!! WOLVES!! MILIJAS!! MANCHESTER CITY 0-1 WOLVERHAMPTON. The unpredictability of this seasons Premier League is shown once again as Wolves take a shock lead here in Manchester. It wasn't the prettiest of goals but Wolves fans won't care. Matt Jarvis whips a ball in from the right-hand side that causes mayhem in the City penalty area, eventually the ball drops to Nenad Milijas whose first effort is somehow saved by Hart, but the Serbian reacted very well to tap in the rebound. So unlucky for Joe Hart as his save was world class, nevertheless, Wolves lead!
  • 12'
    Goal Nenad Milijas
  • 11'
Adam Johnson shows some of his creation as he collects the ball down the right hand side and tries to squeeze a ball through to Dzeko but can't quite get it through and Wolves clear.
  • 9'
Good pressure from Wolves as they win a corner after a shot is blocked. The resulting corner is a good one and Hart tries to come and clam the ball but gets nowhere near it, luckily for him it sails over everybody elses head too. Hart won't want to be making any mistakes after his howler against Leicester last weekend.
  • 6'
First sign of Dzeko's possible impact. The big Bosnian gets inbetween the midfield and defence of Wolves' and wins a free-kick right on the edge of the box. Tevez steps up and tries to clip it over the wall but doesn't get under the ball enough and his shot hits the wall. A wasted opportunity for City.
  • 5'
Half chance for Fletcher as he finds space down the left-hand side, but without any real support a nervy Fletcher gets caught in two minds whether to shoot or look for a team-mate, and in the end he does neither and blazes the ball high and behind it goes for a goal-kick.
  • 3'
Early foul from Steven Fletcher on Nigel De Jong. Free-kick awarded to Manchester City inside their own half. Wolves players are flying around the pitch putting pressure on the ball at every opportunity, very bright start from Mick McCarthy's men.
  • 1'
We're underway. Milijas gets a shot away after just eighteen seconds, but his left footed drive goes harmlessly wide.
  • Moments away from kick-off now here at Eastlands. Edin Dzeko is introduced to typical English weather as its very wet in Manchester today!
  • Manchester City's new signing Edin Dzeko starts upfront with Carlos Tevez, while David Silva takes his place on the bench after recovering from a knee injury. Stephen Ward starts for Wolves at left-back and David Jones also returns, and lines up alongside Nenad Milijas in the centre of Wolves' midfield.
