Had little do to but was sharp and alert when needed. Raced off his line late on to deny Pandev and could do nothing about Cavani's goal.
The City captain made a number of strong, clean challenges in a solid performance. Highlight was a superb clearance off the line to deny Hamsik in the second-half but nearly punished for underhit backpass late on.
Quick and powerful as he mopped up Napoli attacks as the spare man in defence. Always seemed to have space so could perhaps have used the ball better.
The Serbian defender's sweet left foot nearly broke the deadlock with a first-half free-kick and he did find the net with his next attempt in the 75th minute. Sometimes found himself out of position defensively but wasn't punished.
Brilliant block in the second-half to keep out Hamsik's fierce strike summed up his commitment. Defended doggedly throughout and was willing to put his head where it hurts.
Lack of pace evident when Napoli counter-attacked and he was caught dawdling on the ball for the visitors' goal. Tidy in possession as he started City attacks by playing simple passes to more attack-minded players.
Prompted and probed in the final third with his quick feet and clever passing but was not at his best. Went close with early effort fired wide and linked up well with Silva and Aguero.
As ever, the creative fulcrum for City as he drifted into space and moved Napoli defenders around with his intelligent movement and passing. Faded after the break as Napoli denied him time and space to operate.
The Ivorian's strength, power and creativity helped the hosts control the midfield for long spells of the game, particularly in the first-half. Should have broken the deadlock but saw his first-half effort from 12 yards cannon off the underside of the crossbar.
Coped well with Napoli's aggressive tackling as he continued to pull into space and dribble at the visitors' defence. Always looking for a sniff on goal and hit the crossbar with a close-range volley in the second-half.
The focal point for City attacks but never had a clear sight on goal as he was given close attention by the visitors defenders. Looked sharp and his height made him a threat from crosses.
M. De Sanctis
Excellent first-half saves to deny Aguero and Kolarov but didn't react to the Serbian's free-kick for City's goal.
Strong tactical display from the Italian as he had to be wary of Aguero pulling out to the left. Seemed very tired in the latter stages but still combined well with Hamsik. Break and sliderule pass helped to set up Cavani's opening goal.
Coped well in the air against Dzeko and his anticipation was impressive as he denied City forwards the chance to turn.
Booked for reckless challenge on Aguero but was generally impressive against the Argentine and showed a good turn of pace.
Strong in the tackle as he denied City attackers space. Received a yellow card for a lunge on Aguero.
Showed good pace and stamina to both attack and defend down Napoli's left side. Fully committed performance and produced a dangerous cross for Hamsik in the second-half.
Seemed a bit off the pace in the early exchanges as Toure strolled past him but improved as the game went on. Neat and tidy on the ball and aggressive in the challenge.
A tough and uncompromising presence in the heart of the Napoli midfield. Stayed with the pace in the first-half and produced some nice passes after the break to start counterattacks.
A real threat throughout the game for the visitors with his driving runs and intelligent passing. The Slovakian had a second-half volley cleared off the line and generally looked dangerous for the Italian side.
The Uruguayan striker only had one real sight at the City goal and his made no mistake, slotting home the opener through Hart's legs in the 69th minute. Clearly has an excellent understanding with Hamsik and Lavezzi but limped off seven minutes from time.
The Argentine forward's pace and skill provided a real weapon on the counter-attack and he saw his curling strike bounce off the crossbar. Appeared injured when he was substituted in the 57th minute.

Replaced Kolarov 15 minutes from time and was steady defensively.
- 28 K. Touré
Came on for Nasri in the 75th minute. Threatened with one dribble but had no significant impact on the game.
Busy cameo after replacing Dzeko in the 81st minute as he played with energy and vibrancy.
- 83 A. Rosati
- 8 A. Dossena
- 3 I. Fideleff
- 21 F. Fernández
Replaced Lavezzi in the 57th minute and showed good composure on the ball without possessing the same attacking threat as the Argentine.
Replaced Hamsik in the 89th minute.
Came on for Cavani seven minutes from time and couldn't quite latch on to a loose ball to put Napoli back in the lead.
