Had virtually nothing to do in the game.
Strong and solid against Yakubu, his former Everton team-mate. Rarely troubled.
Solid defensively and a threat going forward, as shown when he delivered perfect crosses for the first and third goals.
Kept his concentration and was good in the air to clear the odd Blackburn attack.
The Argentine was in good form defensively and continually bombed forward to support the attack.
N. de Jong
Sat deep in midfield and was alert to break up rare Blackburn attacks. Kept his passing short and simple.
Provided good width on the right, pinning back Martin Olsson from the first minute when he squared for Balotelli to shoot.
The Spaniard was at his best as he roamed in pockets of space, pirouetting on the ball and picking passes for team-mates. A joy to watch.
Controlled the central midfield battle with his power and technical ability. Kept possession well and injected energy into attacks when he burst forward from midfield. Replaced by Milner in the 86th minute with an apparent back injury.
On his return to Premier League action following suspension, the Italian broke the deadlock on 30 minutes with an expert finish to guide home Kolarov's cross. Forced Robinson into action with two more shots from around the edge of the penalty area and dovetailed well with Aguero. Replaced by Dzeko in the 79th minute.
Always looked like he was going to score as he was constantly on the move and looking for a sniff of a chance. On hand to pounce and fire home City's second from close range - a finish that was more difficult than he made it look.
The Blackburn goalkeeper made some superb stops to keep Rovers in the game, especially in the first-half, but made a hash of his attempt to punch the ball away from a corner and allowed Aguero to score City's second goal.
Not dreadful but allowed Kolarov to cross for the opener and was weak in the challenge, highlighted when Aguero easily bumped him off the ball on the stroke of half-time.
Early booking for foul on Balotelli summed up a performance that was well off the pace of the game.
Caught ball-watching as City exploited space down Blackburn's left side through Johnson, Balotelli and Zabaleta.
Virtually anonymous as an attacking threat and provided little help for his defenders as City ploughed forward in numbers down the Blackburn left.
Never seemed to have much idea where the City strikers were and was easily fooled by their movement. Strong in the air when clearing crosses.
Produced a few classy touches but had very little influence on the game. Replaced by Rochina in the 69th minute.
Sat in front of the defence but constantly lost track of Silva, allowing the Spaniard to drift across the pitch and dictate play.
Worked hard but couldn't get to grips defensively with Yaya Toure. Left foot was a threat from set-pieces but he had few opportunities to deliver.
The Blackburn winger produced the odd impressive twist and turn but overall found it very difficult, never really taking on Kolarov at pace.
- 30 C. Pantilimon
- 22 G. Clichy
- 2 M. Richards
Replaced Yaya Toure four minutes from time.
The Chilean impressed with the range and accuracy after coming on in the 71st minute.
- 19 S. Nasri
Replaced Balotelli in the 79th minute and powered home with his head from eight yards to complete the scoring.
