Thank you for following along this morning with Goal.com's LIVE! text commentary on this 2-2 draw between Kitchee and Arsenal. Stay tuned for more match coverage and reaction throughout the day. In the meantime, I've been Chris Teale, and I really appreciate you joining me. See you soon everybody.
Well, that was a very good workout for the Arsenal players in Hong Kong. They end their tour of Asia with one win, one draw and one defeat, and plenty of defensive questions, especially on the left. But it's still only pre-season, so a lot could change between now and August 18th, when the Premier League season starts.
90' + 3'
FULL TIME, and Arsenal conclude their tour of Asia with a 2-2 draw against the champions of Hong Kong. Their equaliser came from second-half substitute Thomas Eisfeld, as a number of squad players got their chance to impress. However, the Arsenal defence was found wanting for much of the game, especially down the left, and Arsene Wenger will be left with some question marks after this game and for their return to England.
There's a goalmouth scramble, and it's nearly an own goal by a Kitchee defender. Thankfully, Zhenpeng is on hand in their goal to save the day again.
It is so congested in the Kitchee penalty area, they're just trying to keep them out. Which they manage, just about.
Decent work there from Afobe on the right, and it nearly finds its way to Kyle Bartley, who's clearly decided that there's not going to be anything going on at the back. However, the goalkeeper saves.
Gervinho looks very lively on the left, but still can't quite get a cross in again. Still 2-2, with about five minutes left.
Goal Thomas Eisfeld
GOAL!!!! It's 2-2!!! Gervinho does well on the left, and tees up Thomas Eisfeld who slots the ball home to equalise once again for the Gunners! Great work from Gervinho there.
Interesting there, as the substitute for Kitchee whose name I can't find tries a shot from halfway that goes over the bar.
The game's been quiet, so you may be interested to hear that Rebecca Adlington has just waltzed through her heat in the 400m freestlye at the Olympics swimming tournament. She looked superb, unlike Arsenal's defence.
Five changes again for Arsenal, as we see Alex Song, Kyle Bartley, Mikel Arteta, Nico Yennaris and Thomas Eisfeld.
No! How did he miss that? Great cross in from Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Afobe heads it over from all of five yards out.
Kitchee are defending robustly in the face of increased Arsenal attacks. Meanwhile, the Gunners are ready to make a few more changes.
Arsenal have a corner, and the Kitchee goalkeeper flaps at it but manages to just about avert the danger.
Walcott's starting to have some joy down the right, and sees a cross punched away by the Kitchee goalkeeper.
Oh Theo! He tries another curled shot, this time with his right, and it goes narrowly wide! He's been Arsenal's best player by far.
Santos is really having a nightmare now. Chu Siu Kei gets in behind him, and has a shot saved by Szczesny, thankfully for Arsenal.
Arsenal still look shocking defensively on the left. First Gibbs, now Andre Santos, who inexplicably tries to play the Arsenal offside trap and fails spectacularly.
The Ox sends through a lobbed pass of his own and finds the run of Walcott. But, his header is saved by the reflexes of the Kitchee goalkeeper Wang Zhenpeng.
Indecision from Szczesny, as he can't decide whether to come for the ball, which is lobbed over Santos. He's saved by the outside of the post, and that could have been decisive for Kitchee.
Great move from Arsenal there. Gervinho does superbly, he tees up Afobe, but he hits the post. That could have been the ideal start for the Gunners.
We're back, and it's Arsenal who get the second half underway. Andre Santos, Chuks Aneke, Benik Afobe, Carl Jenkinson and Gervinho are brought on for Arsenal.
We're getting close to the start of the second half, with Arsenal trailing 2-1 in Hong Kong.
HALF TIME, and it’s 2-1 to Kitchee in what has been an interesting half of football. Arsenal look potent in attack but suspect in defence, and they have gone behind twice in this game to goals from Yago and Cancela. Theo Walcott scored an equaliser, but Arsenal are behind, something that has happened a lot on this Asian tour.
That was a great chance for Arsenal. They surge forward on the counter-attack, the ball comes to Diaby on the right of the box, and he hammers it wide and over. High, wide and not especially handsome.
Chu Siu Kei
Off comes Roberto Losada, who played a cameo in this game as a final farewell having retired last season. He's replaced by Chu Siu Kei, having hugged all his team-mates and received a standing ovation.
Seriously, what is Kieran Gibbs doing? He goes walkabout, and leaves Lo Kwan Yee completely unmarked on the right. He can't find the cross, but even so. Terrible from Gibbs.
Chamakh is rising for a header, but he puts it over the bar. He got in between the two centre backs, but his headed attempt sails away.
Arsenal just can't get the ball at the moment, Kitchee are playing some very pretty passing patterns (check the alliteration there).
Goal Daniel Cancela
GOAL!!!! And Kitchee are 2-1 up!!! Arsenal aren't defending well, and Dani Cancela slams home a rebound after the Gunners don't react to it.
Walcott looks lively, and Arsenal look threatening. But, Theo's offside after being played in by Chamakh on the six-yard box.
That was elaborate from Kitchee. The free kick is chipped, and Ubay Luzardo peels off the wall to try an overhead kick, but it goes wide.
Goal Theo Walcott
GOAL!!! Arsenal have equalised! Diaby gets the ball off a Kitchee defender, and slides it through to Theo Walcott, who slots home to level things at 1-1.
Arsenal are almost caught again, but Szczesny manages to pick up the ball, thankfully. They've got better as the half has gone on, though.
Miquel plays some fine football, as he plays a couple of one-twos and finds Marouane Chamakh. But, he hits his shot straight at the Kitchee goalkeeper.
Miyachi is in the box, and tries to swivel around the last defender, but he's whistled for a combination of offside and handball.
Craig Eastmond is free on the right, picked out by The Ox, but his cross is terrible, and is cleared. Arsenal really need to wake up here.
Almost immediately, Kitchee come rampaging forward again, and it needs Ryo Miyachi to head the ball clear.
Oh, lovely chance for Theo Walcott. He takes the ball down just outside the box, and tries to curl it in with his left foot, but it goes wide.
GOAL!!!! And Kitchee have scored! The ball is threaded through, the Arsenal defence can't deal with it, and the Spaniard Yago taps it home to give the home side a 1-0 lead!
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is playing centrally here, and tries a through pass towards the right, but it's overhit and goes for a goal kick.
And another chance! Another square ball from the right, Szczesny just about gets his hand to it, and Chu Siu Kei puts it over. Kieran Gibbs needs to wake up a bit.
Well well. Kitchee have half a chance, as a cross comes in from the right and Johan Djourou just about deals with it.
And they're off! Kitchee kick off the first half.
Here come the teams onto the pitch, and the stadium is jam-packed full of fans. It's quite a setting over there in Hong Kong.
Kick-off is about four minutes away at the Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground in Hong Kong, as Arsenal look to round off their tour with a victory.
The Arsenal team is in, and this is how it looks: Szczesny; Djourou, Miquel, Eastmond, Gibbs; Diaby, Coquelin, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott; Ryo, Chamakh. Substitutes: Fabianski, Mannone, Yennaris, Jenkinson, Vermaelen, Bartley, Arteta, Song, Santos, Aneke, Eisfeld, Gervinho, Afobe.
What of their hosts? Kitchee sound like they should be a pop band from the 1980s, but in fact they won the Hong Kong First Division last season, only losing twice in their 18 games and securing their fifth league title. For good measure, they also won the Hong Kong FA Cup and the Hong Kong League Cup.
This is the third and final game of the Gunners’ pre-season tour of Asia. They beat Malaysia 2-1, then lost 2-0 to Manchester City in Beijing thanks to goals from Pablo Zabaleta and Yaya Toure.
Good morning, and welcome to Goal.com’s LIVE! text commentary on this pre-season friendly between Kitchee FC and Arsenal.
