The soon-to-be Arsenal attacker will be keen to upset his former employers as his team hopes to secure the relegation play-off spot ahead of Hertha Berlin

Koln coach Frank Schaefer will have to do without the services of defenders Andrezinho and Henrique Sereno, who have been ruled out of the crucial clash at the RheinEnergieStadium. Midfielder Adil Chihi and striker Mark Uth are also unavailable and will join Petit in the stands.

Schaefer is set to leave Milivoje Novakovic on the bench again in favour of maintaining an attacking trident to support Lukas Podolski.

For Bayern Munich, Daniel Van Buyten trained with the team this week, but is likely to miss out on the clash as he is not fully fit yet. Fellow defender Breno is a certain absentee as he recovers from a knee injury and is unlikely to feature for the Bavarians again.

  • Koln could be relegated for the fifth time in 15 years if they fail to get a positive result against Bayern Munich, and Hertha Berlin defeat Hoffenheim.
  • The Billy Goats have lost all of their games against the current Bundesliga top four this season, scoring three goals and conceding 29.
  • Only Werder Bremen have netted more strikes and recorded more wins over the Bavarians than Koln.
  • Bayern Munich defeated the Billy Goats 3-0 earlier this season, despite having Franck Ribery sent off early in the game.
  • Koln goalkeeper Michael Rensing (pictured right) spent 10 years with the Bavarians, appearing in 53 games before he was released in 2010.
  • Lukas Podolski is also a former Bayern player. Against the Bavarians, however, he has scored just twice, winning once in nine games.

Podolski is Koln's most potent weapon and will be keen to bow out of the Bundesliga with a bang against his former club. He may have a bad record against the Bavarians, but will do everything in his powers to save the club he adores from relegation.

A. Robben

Position: Midfielder

The Dutchman signed a contract extension earlier this week after months of speculation. With one burden off his shoulders, Robben will be fired up to maintain his form as his team aims to beat Dortmund to the DFB Pokal and Chelsea to the Champions League trophy.

Editor's Prediction

If Koln could do anything to save themselves from relegation, they would do well to pray Hoffenheim defeat Hertha Berlin, because their chances are extremely slim against the Bavarians. Jupp Heynckes will field a full-strength team as his men prepare for their two finals, and this is likely to prove too much for the Billy Goats.
