A. Vidal 4', 8'
A. Pirlo 29'
C. Marchisio 53'
90' + 2'
And that's a wrap! It's Juve 4-0 Roma, after Vidal's double, Stekelenburg's red, Pirlo's penalty, and Marchisio's strike. Juve are now three points clear at the top and have one hand on the Scudetto; Roma are truly running the risk of missing out on Champions' League football next season. I'm Julian De Martinis and I'd like to thank you for joining me tonight!
90' + 1'
Simone Perrotta tries a very, very long range effort that fails to test Buffon. One minute to go in injury time before this match is officially over. Unofficially, Juve have seen to it for quite some time now.
Here. at the very end, with Juve nearly completely disinterested, Roma are controlling the ball well. A late consolation goal could do wonders for confidence after this woeful thrashing.
Giaccherini with some solid defending on Bojan near the edge of the Juve box. The former Barcelona player was just advancing in from the wing when the Juve player robbed him of possession.
And the video cameras have caught Lamela spitting at Lichtsteiner after the challenge with Bojan! The youngster could face disciplinary action should the FIGC decide to act!
Yellow Card Bojan Krkic
Bojan is booked for a clash with Lichtsteiner where it appeared both players came off a bit worse for the wear.
The tempo has been all but sucked out of this one now. Both sides trying to attack but never wanting to risk losing the ball.
Borriello is flagged offside after trying to beat Jose Angel for the ball. Less than 10 minutes to go here and the result hasn't been in doubt since the opening 10!
Corner to Juventus as Giaccherini's charge into the box was halted and the ball deflected out. The side play it out to Pirlo who tries a long range effort, but it's blocked by Lamela.
Roma win a free kick after Gago was taken down on the halfway line, which draws jeers from the home support in the crowd tonight.
Roma on a foray forward and having trouble making progress against the well-entrenched Juventus. Bojan tries to take matters in his own hands and slipped past two players but Bonucci halts his progress on the edge of the box.
A quick counter-attack from Juve allows Del Piero to take a few steps and smack a shot towards goal, but his effort blazes over the bar. It nevertheless draws applause from Buffon.
Giaccherini's turn to shoot towards goal now, as his shot goes wide of Curci's left post. The goalie had it covered nevertheless, diving low to cover his net.
Fantastic reaction save from Curci! Marchisio drove into the box; Kjaer stuck a foot out and thought he stole possession, but the midfielder won the ball back and strove towards goal. From mere yards out, he snapped a shot on goal that Curci dropped low to save with one hand!
Marchisio's goal deflated what little wind there was in Roma's sails (no pun intended), as the side's pressing seems so much less enthusiastic than it was before.
Free kick to Roma right around the halfway mark as Barzagli pushes Jose Angel. Vidal comes off to great applause for Giaccherini as Conte uses his final substitute.
Marchisio turns away from his marker and lifts a nearly perfect through ball over the defence for Del Piero. Curci collects ahead of Juve's captain.
Del Piero's first involvement nearly sees him skip into the box but a fantastic tackle by De Rossi prevents him from making progress.
Rosi rushes to clear a ball in to De Ceglie in the midfield, but he catches the Juve player on the head and concedes a free-kick. He's perhaps lucky to escape a booking, there, though it certainly wasn't malicious.
Alessandro Del Piero
More subs in another double change- Lamela on for Pjanic, and Quagliarella off for Del Piero. The latter comes on to rapturous applause as the crowd is thrilled to see their idol!
Pirlo slips a ball in to Vidal and the midfielder steps up to take a shot but De Rossi intervenes. Juve regain the ball and cross towards the charging Lichtsteiner in the box but the captain once again clears the ball.
Roma certainly trying to get something, anything out of this- perhaps a goal for morale- but Juventus are using their one man advantage and fantastic defence well.
Both managers making a change- Bojan coming on for Osvaldo, and Borriello coming on for Vucinic; the former Roma man comes off to applause. The crowd is jeering, presumably because Borriello is coming on instead of Del Piero.
35 minutes to go and Juve are in no rush, passing the ball amongst themselves and trying not to needlessly give away the ball.
Vucinic is certainly enjoying a renaissance during the second half of the season and is giving his former club much to chew over.
Assist Mirko Vučinić
Goal Claudio Marchisio
GOALLLLLL JUVE! 4-0 now and this is surely all but over. A fantastic team move from Juve culminated in Vucinic laying the ball off just outside the box with a back-heel to Marchisio, who absolutely rocketed the ball into the left side of the net, curling it past Curci.
Some solid possession from the home side, who continue to press towards goal. Marquinho had made a good interception in the midfield but lost the ball almost immediately after.
Roma look to be playing a 4-3-1-1 that transforms into a 4-4-1 when Juve have the ball, as Pjanic tucks into the left side as needed.
Some fantastic passing between Pirlo, Vidal, and Vucinic ends with the latter taking a strike just outside the box. It goes wide of the post.
Marchisio tries his hand at a shot from outside the box, but it's drilled right at Curci. The substitute goalie gathers with ease.
As one might expect having the confidence and an extra man, it's been mostly one way traffic so far with Juve putting a lot of pressure on Curci's area.
The teams are back on the pitch, and no changes have been made by either managers. Juve begin with the ball this time, and De Ceglie is quickly flagged offside.
45' + 1'
And that's the half! It's been scintillating from Juve, and decent from Roma offensively but complete shambles at the back. Vidal's double and Pirlo's penalty mean that Luis Enrique has much to think about during the break. Join me in 15 for the second half!
One minute of injury time will be added and Juve are looking to add one more before the half, but Lichtsteiner's chip from a long ways out goes well off target. He tried to catch Curci off his line but to no avail.
Superb cross from De Ceglie finds Vidal in the box but the player just can't control it! The ball then falls for Pirlo, who tries a left-footed shot on net but it goes wide of Curci's far post. Juve still playing with flair and confidence.
Marquinho puts in a superb sliding tackle to robs Vidal of possession just as the midfielder looked like he was going to break through the defence!
Free-kick to Roma as Vidal takes out De Rossi as the latter tried to clear the ball from his own defensive box.
Juve now responding well to Roma's spell of possession. Bonucci plays a superb ball over the entire midfield and it falls perfectly to Vucinic, but the Montenegrin can't control it. It falls shortly afterwards to Quagliarella, whose shot on goal is saved by Stekelenburg!
So close for Juve! The initial corner is cleared and falls for De Ceglie just outside the box, who snaps his shot. It fizzes just wide of the left side of goal!
They don't get it- it's yet another under-hit ball towards the near post which Juve easily clear. Juve counter like lightening, forcing Jose Angel into a diving challenge to clear the ball in the box and give Juve a corner seconds after their own!
Roma earn another corner after a flowing exchange between De Rossi, Osvaldo, and Gago on the edge of the box. They'll need a much better delivery from Pjanic now.
Roma still pressing forward. The commitment to attack is admirable- not many sides would play with such force after losing a man and conceding three so early in the match.
Another disappointing cross for Pjanic, who delivers another corner too short to the near post. Juve try to counter quickly but Lichtstiener trips over his own feet and Roma regain possession.
Rosi once again trying to spearhead an attack into the box and he wins a corner for his side as his effort is deflected.
Yellow Card Fabio Quagliarella
Marquinho fouled in the midfield by Quagliarella, who gets booked for his efforts. Roma have a free-kick right near the halfway mark.
It's all gone so poorly for Roma, down to 10 men and three goals behind with only a half hour gone! Rosi illustrates that Roma will not just concede, trying to launch a cross into the box, but his effort is wayward.
Penalty save Gianluca Curci
Missed Penalty Andrea Pirlo
Goal Andrea Pirlo
PIRLO SCORES! And it's so, so harsh on Roma; Curci actually saved the initial effort, but it lands right at Pirlo's feet who sinks it on his second attempt. Incredibly rough for Roma, given that the red was somewhat controversial and the attempt saved, but Juve have been playing absolutely beautifully. 3-0!
Luis Enrique has no choice but to send on Curci for Borini. The replays indicate the red may have been harsh, as Stekelenburg's leg seems to have caught Marchisio without the goalie even realizing it. Nevertheless, it of course stands and Juve have a penalty to take!
Red Card Maarten Stekelenburg
PENALTY TO JUVE AND STEKELENBURG SENT OFF!!!!!!! ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES FOR ROMA NOW! That all began with an awful mistake from Marquinho, who mis-kicked the ball in midfield and gave the ball right to Juve. Marchisio was played into the box and Stekelenburg took him down, earning the sending-off and a penalty!
Roma truly improving at least offensively, as Pjanic's shot is deflected for another corner off of Marchisio. Pjanic plays it to the near post but it's too short to reach his teammates and easily cleared. Disappointing from the man who's so often creative.
Juve clear both the initial cross into the box and Angel's follow up, countering quickly. Pirlo tries a ball through towards Lichtsteiner but Angel slides to cut it out. Juve still in possession.
Kjaer charges forward and plays a great ball into the box, which Bonucci has to deflect out for a corner-kick for the visitors.
The referee is speaking to Osvaldo; he didn't like the way the Roma striker was holding Chiellini and has given Juventus a rather light free-kick, which Chiellini gets his head on but drags his shot into the ground and it goes wide!
Applause for Vucinic as he chases a long ball that was rolling out of play and manages to knock it out for a throw-in instead of a goal-kick.
The past few minutes have seen quite a bit of progress from the visitors, who are finally getting an attacking flow going. Borini tries a low ball through the box but Barzagli clears it away.
Jose Angel tries a speculative long range effort from a ways outside the box which blazes over Buffon's bar. Roma maybe just starting to get into the match now.
De Rossi blocks Juve's attempted through ball, allowing Roma to attack. Pjanic tries another through ball which Bonucci clears for a throw-in.
Smart defending from De Ceglie, who nicks the ball off of Osvaldo's foot as Roma looked to counter quickly from the corner. The visitors just cannot get a foothold in the game as of yet and have clearly been shell-shocked.
Pirlo picks out Marchisio's run down the left, and Juve are getting to Roma's box at will. De Ceglie crosses the ball in twice, and Kjaer clears both times, conceding a corner on his second attempt.
Not a great decision from Perrotta, whose cross into the box was all kinds of wayward.
Vucinic receives the ball at the top of the box, turns, and shoots on goal. Stekelenburg saves and after a bit of a spill, picks it up before Juve can pounce.
The visitors are pressing up the left flank but Conte's men are set up very well positionally. Pjanic tries a lofted through ball to Osvaldo near the box but De Ceglie heads it clear, and Juve counter menacingly.
Assist Mirko Vučinić
Goal Arturo Vidal
ANOTHER GOAL FOR JUVE! ANOTHER GOAL FROM VIDAL! Roma are absolutely disgusting at the back, and Mirko Vucinic was at the heart of that once again. Skipping away from De Rossi, running down the middle, he slips a past wide to Vidal who smashes his first time shot into the net from just inside the box on the right. Roma are shell-shocked and this is at risk of getting very ugly, very quickly. 2-0 to Juve!
Rosi takes a foray down the right, skips past two players, and whips a low cross into the box. It's nothing Chiellini can't clear, who's fouled seconds later by Borini's trailing foot.
Conte will be thrilled with such an opening- the goal should force an already shaky Roma to commit more men forward in search of an equalizer, leaving much space for his men to exploit. Luis Enrique looks dejected on the sidelines.
Roma look for a quick response and play a high ball to Osvaldo, but it's overhit and the striker can't control it. Goal-kick to Juventus.
Assist Paolo De Ceglie
Goal Arturo Vidal
GOALLLL JUVENTUS! The home side make an immediate impact against the visitors' shaky defence. Vucinic slipped a brilliant pass through to De Ceglie on the left, who cut the ball across the face of goal. Roma were all over the place at the back and left Vidal unmarked near the far post, who smashed the ball in behind Stekelenburg. Truly woeful from Roma but Vucinic will be proud of himself for that pass! 1-0 to Juve.
Marquinho commits the first foul of the match, giving away a free kick after his foul on Quagliarella. It's in a fantastic position for Andrea Pirlo, about 10 yards outside the box, but the former Milan midfielder hits the wall and lets Roma clear.
Juve have some early possession around Roma's box, but the visitors are compact and force the side back. Vucinic tries a direct approach through the middle but is stopped by Gago on the edge of the box.
The minute's silence goes by incredibly respectfully with nary a peep heard around the stadium. Immediately after, we have kick-off! Roma begin with possession and look for width via Rosi, who loses the ball and quickly recovers it.
There's currently a minute's silence dedicated to the memory of Morosini, who tragically passed away last weekend.
Teams walking out of the dugouts now. Juventus, despite being at home, are wearing their pink jerseys. Roma are in their customary away white jerseys. Buffon and De Rossi captain the sides.
Mere minutes away from kickoff now and the fans at the Juventus stadium are in full voice, hoping to see their side take a massive stride towards the Scudetto. Luis Enrique will be hoping to disappoint every single one of them.
Juve's bench gives the home side options in nearly every area, but Roma's is lacking defensively, with just Gabriel Heinze available to Luis Enrique. Juventus bench:30 Storari, 4 Caceres, 7 Pepe, 24 Giaccherini, 10 Del Piero, 32 Matri, 23 Borriello. Roma bench: 18 Curci, 5 Heinze, 11 Taddei, 30 Simplicio, 8 Lamela, 14 Bojan, 10 Totti
Roma have a number of absences to deal with- Burdisso and Juan are both out with varying injuries, meaning Daniele De Rossi starts in defence along Simon Kjaer. Fabio Borini makes his return to the side following injury, forcing Francesco Totti to the bench. 24 Stekelenburg; 87 Rosi, 44 Kjaer, 16 De Rossi, 3 Jose Angel; 19 Gago, 20 Perrotta, 7 Marquinho; 15 Pjanic; 31 Borini, 9 Osvaldo.
The official lineups are out. It's a rather usual lineup from Conte, who utilizes his 3-5-2 and places Mirko Vucinic up front against his former side. Martin Caceres only makes the bench, as do Matri and Del Piero. 1 Buffon; 15 Barzagli, 19 Bonucci, 3 Chiellini; 26 Lichtsteiner, 22 Vidal, 21 Pirlo, 8 Marchisio, 11 De Ceglie; 18 Quagliarella, 14 Vucinic.
Roma have been wildly inconsistent under Luis Enrique- winning three and losing two of their last five- but find themselves only five points behind Lazio in third place. A win here is an absolute must for the capital side to continue to harbor hopes for a Champions' League place next season.
The home side barely need an introduction; this season Antonio Conte has Juventus looking well and truly like Juventus. Top of the table (tied with AC Milan on points but with a game in hand), 32 matches unbeaten, a mere 18 goals conceded. In the last five matches, the side have racked up five wins.
Welcome to Goal.com's live match coverage of Juventus-Roma! Make no mistake about it- this is one of the most important matches of the season and will be pivotal in deciding the Scudetto race and the hunt for the third and final Champions' League spot in Italy.
